Maaan...if Bandai doesn't finish out the Destroids...HM-R will be remembered as the all time ALL MOST greatest Macross toy line. I have no doubt we'll see the Tomahawk, but the Phalanx???..I'm slightly nervous about that one. And we NEED ENEMIES! (TV Q Rau!)

That's an awesome collection there! Wow...just for the sake of discussion...what's an MISB G1 Optimus Prime or Megatron go for these days??? I sold all mine years ago from childhood, should have kept Prime...but he'd seen a LOT of battles back in the day! I actually remember, I went through 2 Megatrons when I was a kid! Maybe 2 Soundwave's as well..

Thanks 505th! Feels good to get your hands dirty sometimes..however...this is the part I hate most about resin kits..the prep cleaning stage. I would seriously pay more to have the parts prepped and sent to me ready to primer and paint from the makers of the kits. Trying to do justice to Cap's kit, but I've already had some oopses when trimming and sanding down some of the wing parts, putty will be needed! I'm still deciding if I want to go gear up "in flight" as seen in the anime, or gear down on a nice runway base of some kind. I'm not going for anything super fancy on the paint scheme, just more or less what was seen in SDF.

Well... time to get back to it, pull out the resin making tools, put the big boy pants back on and have a go at building the Captains 1:72 Cat's Eye. Anyone here whose built one know which parts I'm supposed to bake in the oven??? Instructions don't specify. I picked up these odd little French high altitude pilots a while back, and I thought they looked kinda Macrossy...

Finished up the windows and finally finished painting the horrible smokey black colored stand with Tamiya TS Gold and light gun metal spray cans. Came out pretty good I guess for a desk toy. The stand plastic was horrible for paint, even after primer. oh well.. Off to work it goes tomorrow morning.

I always felt they pretty much nailed (for the time they were made) 3 of the designs...but what in the world happened to Brettai's ship on the front 3rd of it??? It didn't even come close to what the line art looked like!

no idea honestly, but...I'd love to see some shots of the sprue trees and what you've done so far, I've got the DX on order, but the model guy in me really wants to build this, as I've not actually ever done a Hasagawa Macross kit...

Couple of new small things came in yesterday, Eaglemess... errr... moss. Enterprise A refit and USS Rhode Island from a future Voyager episode (Harry Kim's ship). Enterprise A (which was always my personal favorite of the old E's) is very nice and the engines are actually straight. There is a very light aztec pattern on it that looks great in person. The real jem here though is the Rhode Island! I love the design and the tampo on this one is amazing. So many tiny detail markings. They really knocked this one out of the park! For once I can say ... well done Eaglemoss on both accounts!
