  1. "I've asked him. He won't let me do one." "I wanted to do one 15 years ago, and he didn't want me to do it. I understand why - Star Wars is George's baby."
  2. Spielberg has stated that he begged Lucas to let him direct Episode II or III, and Lucas turned him down.
  3. The thing that got me the most about ROTJ wasn't the Ewoks, it was the bad acting. Mark Hamill was practically an entire forest he was so wooden, and Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford had nothing to work with in the way of dialog. Their characters had no character. Are these really the same people from ANH and Empire? As with AOTC, the end of the movie redeems the rest of it.
  4. Right now I have Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII in my PS2. Castlevania seems to be getting alot of attention, and Final Fantasy X-2 is of course blowing doors out everywhere. I dunno, I haven't done a ton of gaming this year. And yes, Ace Combat 04 was an amazing game.
  5. Now that's funny. 1. Who would that be? Judd Hirsch and Will Smith are the only two actors in there of any significance. And will Smith has mostly wasted his talent on lame action movies (like Independence Day). 2. Matter of opinion. I thought it was rather lame, especially the ending. 3. Written and directed by the immortal Roland Emmerich, the man behind Universal Soldier, Stargate, and Godzilla. HAHAHAHAHA! Ya, you rest your case... about 6 feet under.
  6. Natalie Portman is clearly wrong for the role. This is the mother of Princess Leia? I don't think so. Ewan McGregor has to work the the same script and same director she does, and he does a much better job. The role was miscast.
  7. I agree. Part 2 was much better than Part 1, and really changed my mind about the mini-series.
  8. I doubt the trolls read the feedback forum, Milk.
  9. Oh yeah, that's good enough reasons. Vostok 7 yeah, but Frank's dead. i bet if he were alive, He'd praise the mini-series. the movie was straight up David Lynch non-sense. Herbert said he liked what Lynch did with the movie. He wrote the books, I'd say his opinion mattered more than yours.
  10. Excuse me? How is the new Sci-Fi version of Dune a POS when it's 100x closer to the book than that 80's movie called "dune" and didn't even have Sting in it to boot? Explain, please. Vostok 7 Because the movie was clearly superior. Frank Herbert even praised it.
  11. The thing about Starbuck in the original was that it was essentially Dirk Benedict playing Dirk Benedict. There is only one Dirk Benedict. He played the exact same character as Face in the A-Team. Kinda like Reese Witherspoon always plays the same character. If someone played a role that was hers, it just wouldn't be right. Starbuck was basically a lounge lizard in the original. He's the kinda guy in the sleezy suit you see hanging out at the bars in Vegas. If anything, he was probably a pussy. So, of course, they have to make the chick Starbuck a tough girl. They lost the essence of the character.
  12. Episode 1, thumbs down, episode 2, thumbs up. My vote was for "good".
  13. My order: The Empire Strike Back A New Hope Phantom Menance Attack of the Clones Return of the Jedi When you look at the total amount of money A New Hope brought in when it came out, and you adjust for inflation, there isn't a single movie these days that even comes close to it. The only movie that tops it all time is Gone With The Wind. Everybody is impressed when they see a movie like Spiderman make 300 million, but you have to remember that was made with people paying 8 or 9 dollars a ticket. It doesn't even break the top 20 all time when you adjust for inflation. The original Star Wars is THE blockbuster movie. Empire, Jedi, and Phantom Menace all make the top 20. As much as people love to rip on Lucas these days, we are talking about the greatest and highest grossing movie franchise of all time. Hell, the original trilogy blows everything else out of the water by themselves. No other movie franchise even threatens them. Simply amazing. Hell, even my Grandma likes Star Wars!
  14. I'd say pretty much the same thing that goes on in Japan everyday. I have heard that they are going to send 1,000 non-combat troops to Iraq, though.
  15. Sooooo... he basically did what the Oscar Academy does every year and chose a bunch of winners that in no way reflect most of what popular choice was? Then again all awards are heavily swayed by the people judging unless it is a popular vote sort of thing... which most awards are not. No, he didn't basically do what the Academy does. The Oscar's are voted on my thousands of industry people, his awards are based on only one vote, his. Your analogy is just plain silly. The "popular vote" doesn't lead to the best result. Pure democracy doesn't work, it only leads to mob rule. I'm sure everybody here would vote for free 1/48 Valkyries if given the choice, but that doesn't exactly make sense, now does it? If the "popular vote" were used to vote for the Academy Awards, stupid movies like American Pie would be winning Best Picture.
  16. WTF? You chose what you liked, without any other input. That's lame, dude.
  17. That's fine, but we aren't talking about Lucas. We are talking about how these movies are released to retailers. The Special Edition of the Original Trilogy has ALWAYS been marked "Special Edition".
  18. Ya, they blew it on that one, though they did atleast list it as a rumor. Even AICN knew the story was bogus. The Star Wars movies usually break down into three groups: "Classic Trilogy" "Special Editions" "Prequels" I am guessing that the guy who reported this to TheForce.net knew enough to refer to them as the "Classic Trilogy", or he wouldn't have contacted them in the first place. Of course, it is VERY possible that the notice they received didn't specify either way. However, you would think that if they were the Special Editions, they would have been listed as so.
  19. "Classic Trilogy" always refers to the non-Special Editions. Star Wars community lingo.
