  1. Not really. It's not any more different than Slow Horses or Severance are from the rest. Or The White Lotus (which shouldn't be nominated). Hell, The Pitt and The Diplomat are the only two traditional dramas nominated.
  2. They're actively restoring all three. That's not officially announced, but it's happening.
  3. Oh, that I don't know. My guess is they'll do Feb, Mar, Apr for the trilogy, then the Gosling film in May.
  4. These are 100% the original films.
  5. I've been sitting on this news since the early summer. For anyone who might be worried this is going to end up some AIed mess like what James Cameron has done to his films, put those fears to rest. The restoration work being done is simply stunning. It blows all releases--both official and fan preservations--out of the water.
  6. I could not bring myself to watch season 5 and removed the show from my watchlist. I feel liberated. This isn't a comment on the quality on the show. It's just been so long and I was ready to move on.
  7. So, I watched this earlier this evening. I did not care for it at all.
  8. I can't get over how bad the eyes look. It was such a wrong choice.
  9. I'm in a weird place with this movie. It was both good, but also not what I wanted out of a Predator film. There's room for this, though. I was just hoping after Prey we'd get more like that.
  10. There aren't many traditional forums left out there, and too often I find garbage and nonsense from social media and platforms like YouTube and TikTok creeping into them. And gate keeping. Oh man, the gate keeping (I'm looking at you, Blu-ray.com). I find interaction online these days to be pretty rough in most corners of the internet. That said, I wish we had some actual Macross to talk about. Even though I suspect whatever comes next will be crafted for the tastes of an audience that is definitely not me.
  11. I feel like I've been waiting for 15 years for the next Haruhi or Gurren Lagann, and it just hasn't come.
  12. Out of the four shows I was watching this summer, I've dumped two. Done with Kaiju No.8 after two seasons. It just wasn't the show I thought it was going to be when I was first watching it. Also, I stopped watching Gachiakatu after 15 episodes. I hated the art style and the story wasn't going anywhere. I'm still on board with Dan Da Dan and Clevatess. DDD really turned itself around after a slog of a start to the second season. I think the new season of Ranma 1/2 just dropped on Netflix. So, need to watch that. Not sure what else I'd watch right now. I have trouble finding stuff that appeals to me in modern anime.
  13. Yup, same here. I moved on with my life pretty quickly, though. Plenty of other things I can spend that money on.
  14. Does anyone really watch Tron because of the real-world segments? Bringing the programs to the real world just doesn't appeal to me. I want to be on the grid. Then you add in no Bruce Boxleitner (you know, TRON) and a token 5-min appearance by Bridges, and I have to wonder what we're doing here.
  15. The film they marketed didn't appeal to me, and the reviews are not good. Going to wait for this to be streaming at home.
  16. Love Dunk & Egg, but I have to wonder how they're going to deal with Egg's actor aging over multiple seasons if they have a lot of downtime between seasons. If they aren't releasing a season every two years, he's going to age out of the role.
  17. There's a bunch of stuff in the OT that was definitely not "for kids." George was always full of crap about that.
  18. With their advertising for this, it looks to be aimed at children. Like Skeleton Crew. Which is fine, I liked that. Just makes me a little sad we're now miles away from the Space Spaghetti Western the show started as.
  19. I'm a pretty big Miami Vice fan and am jazzed they're setting this in the 80s. I'm a little anxious about who they'll cast, though.
  20. Sneakers is probably my favorite amongst his films. Also really fond of The Sting, All the President's Men, and The Natural. My favorite directorial effort of his is A River Runs Through It.
  21. Mia Goth is the villain. Unknown who Matt Smith is playing as of yet.
  22. Hell of a cast. And an Oscar-winning cinematographer.
