I have to say on the good side of the double edged sword more of the uncensored classics like mospeda and macross have come to the us.i saw my youth in arcadia on dvd at fye yesterday.i gotta get that even though ihave it on vhs already.now if this new found popularity of anime gets animes like harlock,galaxy express,megazone,and doraemon over here.

I think that the new popularity is a double edged sword.Anime to me is an art form that will not go away because it will always be changing unlike certain styles of music like the grunge thing.However,I think the comercialization is hurting the heart.I've noticed many anime lately most of the character designs look too much the same especially with the computerized stuff.The hand drawn stuff had more individuality.The problem I had with Macross Zero was even though the character designs were done by Mikimoto, done by computer it looked much the same as everything else.Don't get me wrong studios like Gonzo defintely do good stuff at least storywise.As for the cons,I think too many damn teeny boppers that are there because Peter Parker recently became their wet dream and I don't like the elitest trendy people who got into anime last week because it's the in thing.Anime was brought over thanks in part by fat dudes such as myself in the 1980's who couldn't get dates.And a side note I'm not fat anymore and I can get dates now.Wait a minute,I guess anime is really is a double edged sword.

I have to say Last Starfighter wasn't such a bad movie either.I think the idea of video games being placed on Earth as recruitment tools for alien military forces is genius idea.

I'd say Ice Pirates is mine.Personally people took it too seriously and I think that's why it flopped.

is it available out in the us.whp put it out?

i say get the galaxy express 999 movie soundtrack,flcl,macross perfect collection,utena,cowboy bebop,lain, macross seven,and space crusier yamato.

yeah that's damn shame.some of the new stuff is very good but too computerized.it's like i've seen things story wise but as for character design not very thrilling well for the exception of heat guy j.i think if you use computers too much in animation you lose the imagination of stuff like unique character design.those bastards better bring galaxy express and the old harlock soon or i'll have a a fit.and doraemon at least has edge for a kiddie show.it's cute without being so cute that you wanna puke.

I hope somebody brings Doraemon to America.I read in anime insider it wasn't brought over due to the fact some felt it to be to bizzare.Any comments on this?I get tired of watching bootlegs of Chinese dvds with bad english subtitles.

i have to say the space adventure cobra movie dub was pretty well done considering it was that dipshit macek who did it.and the woman who did serena sounds like she's got a head on top of mental retardation!!!!!!!

galaxy express dub is available through viz.roger corman did a version of it in the early 1980's which is suppossed to suck real bad.and i met reba west at a robotech convention in 1986 in valley forge, pennsylvania.

Is Taiyo Matsumoto the creator of No.5 and Black and White related to Leiji Matsumoto?I love Taiyo's stuff it's good alternative to the commericialized stuff that's out now and being a long time fan of French comic artist like Moebius i can appreciate his work.I hope they animate his stuff soon.And does anyone know when No.5 vol.3 will be out?

to be truthfull i felt the show was not so bad.i felt the cinematographgy and the production design was well done.ed olmos was excellent.the pacing of the story had some power especially of the destruction of the botany ship with the little girl.costume design wasn't so hot to me.i agree that that should've kept the original costumes like the helmets that looked like egyptian headdresses and such.i felt most of the people looked too much the same.i'm glad they still kept the biblical elemnents especially with the baltar segments where the cylon lady is in love with a man she considers god.baltar himself i felt was well written.as for apollo and starbuck and boomer i find them lacking anything myself.they were just typical navy jock type characters.apollo yup he was an a-hole.i think he's got the same sexual identity crisis as starbuck. as for starbucj i think she's pretty cute but kind of annoying i found her screaming while flying pretty damn annoying.i think if they write her a little better she could be something good on the show.apollo well they should kill the little punk ass.

it would be nice if the original han and greddo scene would be restored.lucas said he changed to make han seem sympathetic.I think it messed up one of the greatest scenes in cinema history.

yeah it's a pretty sad version.they were doing a good job.at least get one of the chen sisters to do it.i hung with christina chen ,jo chen's sister at anime usa.those two are a couple of great artists.amano would be cool though.chris chen is still learning english and very heavy into buddhism.she gave me a prayer card last year.she's a very sweet woman.cute as heck too.

i just wish he'de release the originals and stop messing around with them.at least spielberg released boht versions of e.t. on dvd.
