J-rock is the only other Delaware person on this board that I do know of.But any other folks please reveal yourselfs by joining. Tanx
  9. After watching shows and movies like Giant Robo,Kikaider, and Atragon being made into animes. Here are some more i think that should too. Also anyone have access to the uncut Ultraman animes. 1.Space Giants 2.Kamen Rider 3.Mysterians I'LL THINK OF MORE.
  10. I wish these damn idiot companies would realize there is a market for classic anime.prices from animego sound good but about discontinuing I think that's crap.Maybe ADV will pick it up.
  11. Uh,Megazone isn't the only one available on my list. What about in the Harlock category Arcadia of my Youth? As for the Harlock and GE 999 spin offs on dvd in the U.S. try Maetel Legend, Cosmo Warrior Zero, and Queen Emeraldas.Again all I can say about the companies that bring the stuff over less Bitch C*$ter Robin and more classic and cult stuff for love of god. And Sakura Wars I say right on with that.Great steampunk mecha anime and some sexy ass girs too.Marie,(sigh!).Sumerie please kill her off and put us out of our misery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I have to say that I agree with the view that it was made up by teenyboppers. It would be nice if more more efforts were made to made to preserve and restore classic anime, sentai, kaiju in America and Japan.Maybe animes like GodMars and Queen Millenium are dated especially if they take place in the year 1999,however they have to be judged by the technology and views of that time.I think it would be cool to get people like Forrest Ackerman and the Mueseum of Modern Art film department on our side to help.Forrest Ackerman for those not knowing who he is has the Biggest sci-fi library and collection in the world in L.A.He has things such as the Maria robot from the 1920's Metropolis,One of Bela Lugosi's capes, and published some of Ed Wood's novels in the 1950s.The MoMa has some Godzilla films in it's collection thanks to Martin Scorsese who acquirred them through the Director of the First Godzilla movie Honda while Scorsese played Van gogh in Kurosawa's Dreams.Honda was Kurosawa's assisant director on most of his pictures. It's damn shame a magazine like Newtype doesn't lead that effort. If they're appealing to just teenyboppers I'm losing my respect for them. But I would read that over Animerica any day.And I don't remember the title of the anime web site review page, but the reviews for Galaxy Express 999 and the Phoenix movie were only so-so because the person judged it by it's technical aspects in animation. I'm thinking what's with this knucklehead? Those two animes helped paved the way for the Anime boom. It's that type of attitude that keeps great animes from getting their due in America. It would be nice if more people who had film history backgrounds gave Anime fair reviews and was studied seriously. For the longest time in the U.S. the only critic give Anime good reviews and fair hearing was Roger Ebert.Bottom line is to keep anime fandom from becoming a flash in the pan fad need more help from the film history community.
  13. I would recommend Orguss(any Macross fan would love the art by Mikimoto),Galaxy Express 999,Space Battleship Yamato,Captain Harlock,I jsut saw GodMars cool retro mecha retro anime,Iczer one(forget about the sequels),and the Megazone 23 trilogy.
  14. He better not fart this up.Dark angel was a souless piece of crap.I would've liked somone like Ridley Scott or Jean Jenet to do it.Or even Sophia Coppola I think she capture the asian feel of it at least. Why weren't there any more animes of Battle Angel? And why go totally on cgi for the main character?I think Toby Mcguire would be a good Hugo.
  15. Why are some of these photos made to look like the old empire trading cards. It's looks like it'll be pretty cool. The poster looks impressive.
  16. Here are mine. 1.Witch Hunter Robin(It's basicly watered down poo anime for the hot topic goth crowd or the type of shallow dipshits that gush over shows like Friends and the cast members look like refugees from the Matrix and are souless and snotty) 2.Totally Spies(souless poo,hey let's use to create more robot mall chicks from hell at an early age.) 3.Garaga I'll think of more. But I leave Witch Hunter Robin sucks all the ass in the known universe!
  17. I heard somwhere that the Obi-wan role was offered to Toshiro Mifune but he turned it down die to other commitments.Any truth to that. That would've if he did play him.
  18. Hi,I've been getting more and more intrigued with live-action japenese sci-fi.Bought a copy of the Mysterians subtitled in Philly this month.I gotta say I loved it.Also I would like to know the restored version of the 1954 Godzilla is coming out on DVD.My anime club is having a Halloween party next month and I would like to play it.
  19. Megazone was pretty close to earth at the end of part 2.B.D. could've survived.I would've known what happened with hime he's a cool charracter. He's almost a cool headed version of Roy Focker.Actually is it true the first Megazone character designs were rejected designs from the first Macross movie?
  20. Yeah I agree that maybe there shouldn't be anymore. But I felt short changed with part 3.Like how did E=x take over and such and who were delzag really, and questions like that. And what was the deal with the character desigan changes throughout the Megazone series?I did like that Matrix observation.Matrix is a souless version of Meagzone 23.
  21. I enjopyed Megazone 23 part 3 but there left some unfinished answers?Who is Bishop Won?Is he B.D. or Shogo? The movie said he was a Megazone survivor. Are there plans to make anymore Megazone ovas?
  22. Leave Alf the hell alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He rocks!
  23. I was wondering if the Fire bomber band with the voices from Macross seven has ever toured the U.S.?I'd love to see them play.No one answered my question about Mara Ijima touring the U.S. in the other topic.
