Hi, folks.I went to the theatrical premiere of Otaku Unite in Philly at the Philly Film Fest.I had a heck of a time.They had a cosplay gathering before the film and it was being recorded on video for the dvd and got interviewed in my Harlock costume.So I'll probably be on the dvd bonus features.The Carl Macek interview in the movie was interesting he talked about the angry fan reactions to Robotech.Myself I have mixed feelings about it.It is pretty painfull to watch what he diid to those shows at times but he did give a second chance to shows like Southern Cross and Mospeda and he did help bring the first animes unedited to the U.S. with Streamline.The after party was coll,too.I saw some Kaiju but unfotunate I had to leave before Peelander Z played.

Well,I'm pretty happy it's finally coming out.C'mon guys what heck is so bad about adv.they brought mospeda over.The dubbing on it doesn't sound that good.At least on the dub of part 2 I have a bootleg of B.D. sounds a hell of a lot better.I just bought bootlegs of all Megazones at Phila.Animation Society,too. I also got copies of Megazone soundtracks and Mospeda ones including Love,Live,Alive.To be truthfull the Eve and Yellow Belmont songs are much better than Minmay's.Eve is much more woman than her too.

IF he makes it closer to the tone of the original it might be good.one thing the book didn't have the christian overtones like 1953 movie due to the fact H.G. Wells was against organized religon.I still say the radio show was the best adaption.But Minority Report sucked dick majorly.I know it's the umpteenth billionth time i've said it so i have doubts about the cruise/speilberg combo.And to be honest I felt A.I. didn't get it's fair due.Jude Law should've got an oscar nod for his role.

I do concur with blaine 23 that at least speilberg had sense to released the original e.t. with the new version.When it comes to video marketing lucas is way out of touch with reality.he was release all of the star wars but not untill 2007 originally.it gets on my nerves he feels he has alter the originals.he just leave them as a piece of movie history.

How well did now and then......,do in japan?i would imagine it would. because it's not a typical anime and it's originally done by pioneer and u.s. manga released over here.i wondered if pioneer sold it to them to make their money back.

I was wondering why Queen Emeraldas vol.2 come out yet?I know her manga series didn't do too well in Japan?I watched Arcadia of my Youth on Dvd today.THe trailers they made for it were beautiful. Does anyone know good site to get people's attention on the message board about bringing Captian Harlock,GE 999,tv series to America?I think the spin-offs of Harlock now are better than the newer Harlock series starring Harlock.Harlock saga could've been much better.Gunfrontier rocks.I'd like to see that as a polished feature film.I think Matsumoto should let sci-fi artist Moebius write the script for it,if it ever becomes a feature film. I remember seeing the Transformers the movie in a movie theater in 1986 in South Philly and a lot of guys were laughing and saying"ya frakkin'pussy!hah!hah!"when Prime died. Here are my faves. 1.Tochiro's death in Galaxy Express movie.Very sad,i love dat dude!In a stright sense of course.I wanted to go psycho on a lesbian at Yuricon for saying he's disgusting and why is Emeraldas with him.Two words.south and mouth,dat's why she's with him.I always related to midget characters in movies too. 2.Tetsuro's mothers death in GE 999.Sob!Sob! 3.Roy Focker's death in the Macross series and movie. 4.Spike and Gren's death scenes in Bebop of course. 5.Maya's Death from Arcadia of my Youth. 6.Legato's Death scence in Trigun.

I highly recommend Galaxy Express 999,Arcadia of my Youth,which just came out on dvd,any of the old Astroboys,Utena,and I'll think of more later.

What about the Roger Coman produced Android?I feel it was underrated.I like the scene with the android watching Metropolis(1920's version)with James Brown's It's a Man's world playing in the background.And Klauss Kinski is the man.He also gave the seed that made that hottie Natsha Kinski.

I heard the new Astroboy is airing on WB this month.Anyone know when exactly.I saw the first episode at Anime North in Canada in May of 2002 when the head of Tezuka productions was there.It was dubbed for the review audience.I have to say I was impressed.I wish they would bring the old black and white ones to dvd.And what's up with the 80's version being just on vhs?Is Manga entertainment on crack or something?And I also would like to see Tezuka's Kama Sutra brought over here I bet that would be a hell of a read.I love his Buddha comic a heck of a lot.
