  1. Pretty sure it does. Then again, I can't make sense of the translation from the tweet the pics came from. "ザ・カラバリだけど透明キャノピーにすると印象が変わりますな" put through the translator says "Is it will change the impression when the transparent canopy It 's The Bali".
  2. I like the shade of green they picked for the new one a lot more too. So it looks like the modex numbers are stickers like in the first release? They don't look tampo printed to me, which would make sense given that you're given a choice between heads.
  3. It's a factor of intensity of the lighting, color of the light, camera settings for white balance, etc.
  4. The 0D's ankles can tilt just as much. There is a side to side motion in the joint in addition to the pivot point. You just need to move it to the outermost side as you pivot the foot inwards so you can get the clearance needed. I believe the ankles are the same.
  5. Definitely a dark gray. It doesn't look blue there at all. Still doesn't change the fact that it should be black and the white part of the fin should be gray. That's how it looks in the anime and even the Hasegawa kits show it that way too in the instructions.
  6. I just saw it as ripping out the implant also made him lose his mind link to the VF so he had to eject the armored canopy to see.
  7. It came from the 2nd movie. Brera ejects the armored portion of the canopy and the clear part remained.
  8. Cannon fodder flavor - Explosion of flavor for your taste buds!
  9. I got notice that my avocado ice crea- I mean VF-27 shipped too. Man, that ice cream looks good...
  10. On the other hand, there's a lot more you can buy with $8 than with 0
  11. Looking forward to getting mine. I'll be using the beta style head on mine. I think it looks better not having those horns sticking out from the head in fighter mode.
  12. This is great! I didn't get the DYRL version because I already had my 1/3000 from Yamato, but this is something I'm interested in getting.
  13. Takatoys, you're more than welcome to link any of my pics you feel are appropriate. You can grab the links off of Flickr from these two albums: YF-19 and VF-19. An easier alternative way may be to just hit quote on a post and pull the corresponding links out of my posts from the ones at the top or my older YF-19 posts 1 2 As for which I prefer, that is a tough choice. I believe I had voted for the Arcadia in the poll, but the preference is very minimal. The main factor was that my favorite mode is fighter and the Arcadia's fighter mode proportions are great. The slopes and shapes are more pronounced like on the nose and neck, whereas on the Bandai, it's almost straight in comparison and the gullet area has a hump in the middle (Not Bandai's fault, just how it was designed and showed in the movie). The Arcadia version also doesn't have that unsightly gap in the wings with the tab when FAST packs are installed. The Arcadia also has the option for being a 2-seater and the GERWALK mode just looks tons better due to where the rotational joints in the legs were placed. On the other hand, the Bandai just has so much more detail that it's ridiculous. Huge points for that. Also, I didn't need to spend hours upon hours trimming, lining up and applying stickers since everything is tampo printed and there's an amazing amount of it. The ankles are nice and tight where I almost have to prop my Arcadia 19's up in battroid mode because they could fall over with a slight breeze due to the supremely loose ankles (although the rear right landing gear on my Bandai can't hold under the weight of the valk and always collapses the moment I set it down no matter what). The tranformation methods, while more difficult in some cases, are ingenious and very creative solutions to difficult problems.
  14. I dislike Yamato/Arcadia's stand adapters. So many of them require too much effort to put on or take off and often require partial transformation just to do so. Either that or they're completely ineffective like the ones for the 19's which also lead to paint scraping. Although Bandai's stands are not exactly pretty either, at least it is extremely easy to place and remove valks.
  15. Were the greens even shown with the super parts in the 2nd movie? I have no recollection of it, but I only watched it once and I can't be bothered to dig up my blu-ray at the moment. I just I plan on displaying mine with the pink fold booster anyway, but the super parts that came with Brera would probably look fine on the greenies also.
  16. It does for the most part. I did a hybrid, cross-referencing both the master file and the Hasegawa sheet for mine. Interesting. I just realized that in the absence of any actual detail in the CG model for the VF-19 Advance, Bandai ended up duplcating the panel and detail from the Hasegawa. Aside from the labels and warnings, the panel lines and even the diamond markings are pretty much identical.
  17. Glad you guys like it! Hehe. Well, I was debating doing my second one with the broken head laser also. I could do that one and trade it I love that gif! Here are more pics with everything finished. Sorry for the lack of GERWALK pics. I messed with it for over an hour trying to get things locked in without scratching things. Even without the boosters on, it was just frustrating so I gave up and moved on to battroid. Bonus pic: Isamu has hated ghosts ever since THAT incident in 2040 at Macross City. However, some joker stuck a transmitter on his booster pod when he wasn't looking and now he has a pet ghost.
  18. Mostly done weathering my 19 Adv. Still have to do the feet and super parts. I'll do a proper shoot once I finish it all up. This thing just has a retarded amount of detail in all the hidden areas. Every time I think I've got it all, I find little hidden areas I missed doing a wash on. I bet they even molded details in areas you can't see unless you took the thing apart.
  19. Ok, here's my best attempt at it. I got lazy with the back panels and took some shortcuts since the front and back looked pretty much the same anyway. I have it in green, red, blue, and purple. How it looks: Actual vector image scaled down to match the width of the HUD panel on the toys: Note: Unless you have a very high DPI printer, most of the detail isn't going to show anyway when scaled down to size. vf-25 panels.zip Edit:Tweaked the panels a bit. Added a top border for the back panels. Connected some lines
  20. I used a hair dryer on hot for mine and then when it got soft, pressed it against the inside wall of my freezer. Was straight after that. I popped the head off my 29s a few times while doing my usual stuff to them. It does make it easier to pull the head lasers off. Sticking some plastic safe lubricant on the pvc ones before putting them back in also helps immensely. They turn smoothly to where you want them to go rather than the ball sticking and only the stem twisting.
  21. I found I had a bag of hex wrenches in the case where I kept socket wrenches. Fortunately one fit. Unfortunately, the DX adapter was a very tight fit and while trying to get it on, the corner of it went into my finger. My test shot with the stand. It really is an attractive stand. I will plan to get more when I can.
  22. I can give it a shot tomorrow evening or Friday if Froy hasn't done one by then.
  23. Just got my first one today. I need to find an allen wrench that fits the screws because I can't tighten it enough by hand to support the weight of a valk and it's killing my fingers trying to do so
  24. The hands on the toys partially retract too, but the back plate of the hand goes into the arm and not over it like that pic shows.
  25. I feel the only real hard part is getting that neck plate and head turned around in that confined space. Requires some finger acrobatics.
