So I'm not the only one. It used to be that once I got notice that they had the item in the warehouse and I paid the shipping, they'd send it out in a few days. I guess I'll email them.
-
Has anyone that ordered from HLJ have theirs shipped yet? I paid their ridiculous fees for shipping and it's been sitting for nearly 2 weeks still "processing".
-
Those shipping and tariff costs are really nutty. Then the handling fee is just rubbing salt in the wound. Strangely enough, I'm glad there's been hardly anything I've been interested in buying for a while now. The tariffs have basically made importing things untenable.
-
I got hit with shipping shock from HLJ as well. came out to something like $118. Yeah... I'm not buying from them anymore. At least not while this tariff bs is ongoing. I paid it and that will be my last item. It would have been far cheaper to buy it over Amazon at this point. Even the JoyToy stuff I've been collecting doesn't have tariff fees this high and those come straight from China...

That's the main issue I had with the old Yamato 17 and 19. The ankles had a hard time holding up the weight of the toy in battroid and occasionally I would find they toppled over on their own even in a very neutral stance. I've had to resort to propping them up against a wall so I don't find them collapsed later.

I had actually picked up a 2nd copy when I was checking around during prime deals day. It wasn't one of the prime deals, but seeing it was 180, I still got it. Even with the replacement I got from Bandai, on closer inspection of the replacement parts, the head laser was still slightly bent and the canopy hinge still had cracks in it. So I will keep my original one in battroid mode with the blacked out canopy in use. The new one I got was perfect. No cracked canopy hinges, no cracked anything, as far as I can tell on initial inspection and no stress marks or bends on the head laser.
-
Yeah, just look at the Yamato 17's in comparison. I think they struck a great balance in the proportions for all three modes. With the FAST packs, it's even better. Bandai couldn't even bother remolding more of the parts to be accurate to the VF-17, skinniness aside. The only thing the Bandai beats it in is availability, which I guess is the most important factor for those who don't have the Yamato.
-
This is one of those occasions where the Yamato version is just better, imo. I was fine with the way the 171 as it was designed that way from the start. But the 17 was a chonkier design and had its own charms and aesthetics that were its own. The head even seems disproportionate to the body on this Bandai version. I wonder if the FAST packs will work on this if they decide to do them.

Did someone from Bandai infiltrate them? Looks overly tampo'd like they do with their Macross DX's.

I finally got a FDM 3d printer recently and decided to put it to the test. I'm printing out parts for a X-9 Ghost, I'm pretty happy with the results so far. The parts have come out quite smooth without the usual ridges/stair-stepping I would see on older printers. Almost as good as a resin printer, imo, but without having to need a separate ventilated space or having to deal with toxic chemicals and fumes. Can't wait to have this put together and painted.

Well, mine just arrived and it was indeed a full valk. Found that the part of the canopy that connects to the hinge was still broken though It wasn't crumbled to little bits like the original, so I tried applying some super glue and am hoping that it's enough to keep it together. At least the head laser is straight. I guess I'll use the rest as spare parts as it's not enough to use as a separate figure. Even one of the flaps is missing from the port side wing.
-
Good info. Thanks. Mine shows 2.5 lbs, so it sounds like they sent me the whole thing. I should get it some time today.
-
Wow. That's pretty crazy that they basically sent you a whole valk minus accessories. A week or so ago, I got a FedEx notification that a package was being shipped to me. I couldn't figure out what the heck it could be since I didn't order anything that would be shipped through FedEx. Got an email later that the shipper was from BNTCA. I realized it was my replacement parts that I've waited close to 9 months for now. I wonder if they'll do the same or if I'm getting just the parts. I don't care either way. I just want a non-bent head laser and a canopy with an unbroken hinge. That's all I've wanted and I hope they inspected the replacements before sending to me because otherwise, I'm going to be extremely pissed waiting this long for damaged parts.

I'm not sure I'll like this movie. It feels more like a Bay movie with a Tron skin thrown over it.

I cancelled my Angron pre- order and redid it now that the anniversary sale on AliE is up. Base price on Flyima is $339 during the sale. With the $45 off $300 store coupon that you can grab along with the $40 off $239 sitewide coupon you can collect from the AliE home page, and another $20 off in coins, my total came out to be $250.71 after tax, In case anyone is interested and finds that price is easier to swallow than $400. The coins part will depend on how much you've collected so that's variable, but at the very least, you can get $85 off the $340 price even without coins. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808397200969.html

He's roughly 16 inches or so high and about 25-26 inches wide at full wingspan. He might not fit in the shelves of detolf users.

I pre-ordered for $286 on AliExpress after coupons and such. I have two complaints about the figure though. Firstly, why is his armor fresh dogcrap brown color? I can repaint that at least. Second, wtf did they do to his face? Went from angry daemon to mildly irritated hungry bat. Hoping someone makes available an alternate 3d printed head that looks more like the mini which is superior.

I made my submission back in early August last year. Got a response from them, on Oct 16 saying "We anticipate that this replacement part will arrive and ship out within the next month. Once again, thank you very much for your patience and understanding." Forward time to December and still having received nothing, I emailed them again to see what was going on. They said they haven't received all the parts yet and told me that they will ship once they get them. Forward to February and there's still no word.
-
Yeah, happened around a year and a half ago I think, and they just simply stopped making a bunch of stuff/got rid of older units.
-
Yup. Probably focused on the Deathwatch given the terminator with the Deathwatch symbol on it. The quality of the animation of the teaser is still top notch though. Just wish it wasn't a year or so away.
-
I still haven't gotten my replacement parts. People got theirs months ago already. I emailed them to see what the status was on mine back in Dec and got this as a reponse It's now February and I still haven't heard anything. Bandai's customer service is absolutely awful.

Thought I'd throw up some stuff I had fun with recently. An Adepta Sororitas Anchorite, modified using one of the Joytoy penitent engines: Sanguinius with improved paintwork: Titus and co from SM2 vs nids: The Khorne berserkers look too bright and clean out of the box so I started doing something about that. Started with the zerker with the icon. Others are there for comparison. It's my first time attempting blood effects. Had a lot of fun with this. Updated with 3 painted.

Cool, thanks for the comparisons! Yeah, I recall that sizes were depicted rather inconsistently within the show. Not to mention the old Yamato 1/60 Regult was absolutely huge and was on the extreme tall end of depictions.- 2610 replies

Wow, I only just learned about the existence of these battlepods by KC. Looks like I missed out on the crowdfunding. How big are these actually? Do they look like they would scale okay with the Arcadia VF-1's if you don't look at it too hard?- 2610 replies

Anyone else still waiting on their replacemet parts? I still haven't gotten mine even though I was probably one of the first to submit a request to Bandai Namco for replacement parts.
