  1. I'm surprised they didn't include a 'smoke machine gimmick' for it...like where does the smoke originate from? Just a little clip on something behind the arms or clipped onto the end of the tail fin area

I'm going to throw out a guess or two for fun until the book comes out with the real answer How about...he thought it was the Monster-lite? Alternate more mobile version of the same mech? (2 cannons vs 4?)
  3. Sorry to hear about your problem, I hope Anthony sorts it out with you to your satisfaction. You are right-getting am Arii 1/160 Monster for $34 is super lucky!

  5. That is very cool-they went through each of the actual models they used in the magazine Nice to see some other angles. That Spartan is crazy good looking, and the sdf-1 cruiser details really shine
  6. After all these years I never realized the M&M Box Art was meant to be displayed together...jeez!

Well I guess for many of the Nichimo kits (all 47) they are going a bit smaller with multi-elements on a page And now we have an official Takani vs Suzuki Art-Off! Go!

Just 4.5 weeks for the Macross Box Art release book...found this, which is awesome...they are going to try to stay full page on the art instead of shrinking it to fit the vertical pages...yay! They are actually apologizing for needing to turn the book sideways which is insane to me...you are buying the book to SEE the details...TURN the book! Lets hope others follow this lead (and that Milia Gerwalk is the one Takani art piece I actually have! )

    1/55's revisited

Thanks-good info! I think my question is answered why it is used in the Macross combo-box context around these parts

I found this, so perhaps this generic terminology is being applied to the Macross line as well. https://transformers.fandom.com/wiki/Giftset

They would somehow come up with a 6th variant that was harder to find than the others

    1/55's revisited

Question for the old-school Takatoku collectors here I always hear the packaged Valkyrie/Armor sets (either valk & super or valk & gbp) referred to as the 'giftsets' So this would be the GBP GiftSet. I get the term is used to differentiate a normal VF-1S from the standalone armor packages, as it could get confusing how to refer to it But where does the term 'Giftset' originate? Is it on the packaging or instructions or something? Is it referred as such in Japan? Is it a states only thing? Curious minds want to know

yeah...this is what I like to see leg fins poking through the armor like they should be...none of this folding nonsense...bandai dx talkin' about YOU 😛

Is that the thing pictured here? https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c1078540340 When I looked at this picture I had no frame of reference for what I was supposed to be looking at...then my brain resolved some legs and a torso and a head at top. I know nothing about Delta, but that is a LOT of missiles and some really big boosters, and some rail gun things? Is this the ultimate-ultimate armament valk? Like it is King of the Hill type thing like the Strike VF-1 used to be?
  18. Did you try Closed Captioning and Auto-Translation?
  19. Maybe they keep the boxes larger, so they take up more space on the retailer shelves, so they can still look fully stocked with higher priced smaller inventory 😛 But unlike the Hasegawa 1/48s for example (you could pack 2x of the kits in one box), the Bandai looks pretty full?
  20. Just noticed that VT-1 and VE-1 have the pointy nose instead of the rounded, and the VT-1 has a different chest color and heat shield color. Cool

Was it anyone here who won it? That is a healthy sold price. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k1077364458
  22. Did a minor update and added some of the matching shipping cases I could find...that is the most fun
