  1. great..you both have that one, so next time is shows up then let ME get it 😛
  2. The first release, which had a special price of 8000 yen, had 2 printings which can be found on the last page 59/12/10 and 59/12/30 (Showa year of 59 = 1984) This is the only version that had the poster AND the film strip, and seems to be the most popular variant by far You'll know to expect the 35mm film strip if you see it mentioned on the front right corner of the Obi, or if you see the back price is 8000 Yen. Then in late 84/(or even 85?) there was the normal release, which removed the mention of the film strip on the obi, and the back price is 8800 yen This release only comes with the poster. This is the rarest of the releases in my experience. I don't have one to note the printing date. Lack of the 35mm note on the obi means don't expect a film strip Then in 1992 for the 10th anniversary it was reprinted again (last physical unit). Poster is included, but again no film. Price increased to just 9800 yen. For the 30th I thinkg (can't remember that or 35th) there was an electronic version of the gold book released in Japan. I have some saved off order forms but no additional info is available.
  3. Yep-on the restored blu-ray release it was 'corrected' 😛
  4. I've always wanted to see what other film strips people have from their DYRL Gold Books from 1984. Grab a pic and post them here! I'll start it off
  5. I dug up my Master File YF-21 yesterday and did not see a lot on the Battroid mode or transformation Is that tucked into another volume? Thanks!
  6. In the world of smart phones we expect pictures!
  7. Found the Kawamori Expo book. In one of the earliest renditions of the VF-1 it still looked 'undefined' on the grid paper. By the time the movie came our we definitively had our vertical lines. Just wanted to post this pic...it is so awesome. 😛
  8. 2 more pens to add to the mix There are others from other series, but I only got the original series items
  9. I feel Focker is looking like 'wth..who is wearing my backup helmet out of my locker?'
  10. A new one-only $20, nice Mikimoto art.
  11. Only 10 years...ROOKIE numbers! Glad you stuck around when everything has been moving to content aggregation sites like Twitter/Facebook/etc... We staked out our little corner of the internet and continue to enjoy the community! Yeah-I'd like a shout out to the Mods as well, they've made this place as comfortable as can be with the wide variety of personalities we have here!! Without their unpaid efforts, it could certainly devolve into a big mess. MW began 1999, and the forums 2001 I think, well over a million posts here, which isn't too bad. I'm sure ChatGPT and the other AI engines are immortalizing all our Macross talk as we speak, there is a nice slice of history to extract and extrapolate with. Chunky Monkey will live in the simulation forever.
  12. How come no toy manufacturer has done this option? We've got all the others so far.
  13. I think the Takatoku toys were very common about the office and handled by the artists to get certain angles and whatnot. I think we've seen elements from the 1/55s used in a lot of art. This relates back to my SDF-1 Canon Theory too with Takani The Takatoku 1/55 was like the Engineer goo in Prometheus...it binds us all.
  14. I'm pretty sure the Takatoku 1/55s introduced the 3 nozzles, but could be wrong. In the original imai gerwalk mode that area is literally nothing...just solid flat plastic, so I was happy to see the artists add some details to that area, even if not cannon. So I blame Takatoku If I recall (almost positively incorrectly) until DYRL official art appeared it was always just a black hole. In some DYRL pics is where I think is where I first saw the vertical slats or the narrow horizontal slot. I think.
  15. Unbelievable. Never thought I'd see the day. Hasegawa is kicking butt! Ordered via HLJ!! Wow.
