  1. Same as above, English subs this time: EDIT: Oof. That bit inside the gorge with zero visibility and rock walls phasing in out of the fog... This gon' be fun.
  2. About the closest I can think of were the Doyusha die-cast 1/144-scale fighters. I think they made the VF-1, VF-11, YF-19, and YF-21. All really nice little things, if a tad expensive (iirc). Of course, nowadays they're super expensive on the collector's market, so... yeah... https://hlj.com/product/DYSDMM-1
  3. Third time was the charm for me, too. I still didn't like it, but it was tolerable. Gundam's just not for me. YOOOOOOO Nadia was such good anime. And they didn't have to creepily ogle the young child characters, either! EDIT: Any new word on the Full Metal Panic season? Last I heard was that it was being delayed to early 2018...
  4. For the most part the Builders Parts hands are good, but they do what all Bandai hands do and mold the thumbs half-merged into the fingers. It's probably to facilitate better weapons gripping, but it ruins an otherwise excellent set of hands. Other companies have done it better, and even Bandai itself did a better job in that regard with their HGUC GM-series hands, so it baffles me why they keep going back to a style as bad as this.
  5. HLJ's apparently having a sale on Robot Damashii figures, plus free stands: https://hlj.com/robot-damashii-2017?0821
  6. If you, like me, hate Bandai hands and/or like Frame Arms kits, here's a newly-tooled set of hands in Kotobukiya's MSG line of add-on kits: https://hlj.com/product/KBYMB-45 December release, 900 yen My only criticism right now is that they don't include closed fists, but those can be found on Kotobukiya's other hand sets, so it's no big loss. The angled wrists (first included in their LED beam sabers, I believe) more than make up for it. EDIT: Also HLJ are having a sale on Robot Damashii figures, apparently. Free stands: https://hlj.com/robot-damashii-2017?0821
  7. I haven't transformed my Ba at all yet owing to my frustrations transforming the Hs. I remember that just putting together that head was a chore and a half, though. I can't imagine what it must be like to transform it as well. As for the molding, I actually wish the entire thing was molded in just one or two colors. Same with the other Delta Valks. They tried as much as they could to match the parts separation to the paint schemes, but with such a variety of schemes, there was no way any single mold would be able to accommodate all of them well. It also introduces problems with seam and panel lines, and despite the parts fitting together like a glove, there are now new crevices that paint from a panel wash can seep where the parts come together. That said, best of luck finishing it up. I'm too intimidated by the extra work I'd have want to put into it to do anything beyond snapping it together. Not even decals/stickers.
  8. The Roid kit hasn't been released yet, though I agree it's not particularly enticing. I wonder if/when they'll release Deculture kits featuring the other Walkure members/Mirage, though. I also wonder how well merch is selling. I have no data to back it up, but I suspect that the big selling point this time around is Walkure, not the mecha designs. That being the case, it makes less business sense to invest the effort to market the 31E/etc. That said, what other Super packs are there? The -31s have the speaker/projector pack, but what about the SV-262?
  9. I'd like to stroke those barrels... Bit the bullet and bought this. Not a bad figure, especially for the price. Will probably get at least Mirage as well.
  10. Ah yes, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
  11. Preorder page for RG 1/144 Gundam Avalanche Exia Dash IP conversion kit, by Effects Wings: http://www.shop2000.com.tw/GK-M/product/p26671889
  12. Gonna stop with the model kit links after this to keep this thread on-topic, but here's a preorder page for the aforementioned 1/144 RG Avalanche Exia Dash conversion kit in case anyone's interested: http://www.shop2000.com.tw/GK-M/product/p26671889
  13. How many Yamato VFs are still out there, especially these 1/48s? You guys seem to have no trouble finding them at all, and a lot of the time in brand new condition, too!
  14. It's a new group called Model Bingo. I got mine from the hobby store GK-M, but I also saw it on sale at Gundam Model Center. The base is the MG Impulse (either the Force or Sword). Ooh, nice grab on the Femto. I was super tempted to get that, too, and I've never even seen Berserk. Remember, Griffith did nothing wrong.
  15. From the Gundam 3rd-Party Figures thread, in case any of you missed it. tl;dr: - 1/144 Avalanche Dash IP conversion kit for RG Exia, by "Effect Wings" - 1/100 Avalanche Exia Dash, by "Dragon Momoko" (based on Metal Build Exia) - 1/100 Avalanche Exia (Dash?), by "Daban" (based on regular MG Exia?)
  16. There are also a slew of preexisting Avalanche conversion kits, in both resin and injection plastic, though those are for the non-Metal Build-looking Exia MG kit. I believe this will be the first to have the Dash parts as well. Will the Daban version 1) be Avalanche Dash or just Avalanche? and 2) mimic the styling of the Metal Build or reuse their KO MG Exia? (If it's just MG Exia, that'll at least give this Dragon Momoko a bit more "legitimacy.") I also wonder how much of these will be straight rips of those earlier Avalanche kits, or if they'll go the extra mile and create their own entirely original toolings.
  17. Preorder for above model kit at GK-M: http://www.shop2000.com.tw/GK-M/product/p26662593 $80 shipped ($30 + $50 shipping) Preorder for same kit at Gundam Model Center: http://www.gundammodelcenter.com/gundam-central-dragon-momoko-avalanche-exia-mb $58 + shipping I don't know if those prices are final. This IS still the preorder phase. I have a feeling the $80 will be closer to the final price.
  18. 1x 1/72 YF-29 resin kit 1x non-scale Eva-01 resin kit 1x 1/100 Gundam Stargazer resin conversion kit I'd bought these about two months ago and was waiting on the YF-29 to be recast, and they've finally arrived. Super stoked. Recast quality on the YF-29/Eva kits is superb, and the Stargazer is a first production run.
  19. Just got this in the mail. It's not all Macross, but in the bottom right is a nice ol' 1/72 YF-29 resin kit (recast from a very limited-production conversion kit for the Bandai VF-25). The resin quality is quite stellar for being a recast. I wish I could remember who the original sculptor was; I know E2046 makes and sells recasts of the original kit, but I got mine from shop2000, which includes the necessary VF-25 parts as resin recasts as well, making their version a complete kit. http://www.shop2000.com.tw/GK-M/product/p17157810

    Bandai DX VF-31

What's the... "usual" timing of these things? Do they release Macross stuff as like its own sub-line of toys, or is it considered part of the larger DX Chogokin line? And is there a history or something of Bandai releasing the cannon fodder during movie releases?
  21. Hey, not sure where to ask about this. Have any of you gotten the Banpresto SQ figures of M-Delta? I'm thinking of nabbing the Kaname/Mirage ones but not sure about their quality. Liking the sculpts, though. A bit more meat on those bones, a bit more realistic.
