  1. Oh the infamous "make Destroids better"-thread. Might as well just use the Cheyenne II. It's a ADR-spec that is also an MBR. The old Tomahawk, Phalanx and Defender all used the same legs but with different stuff added on. All 3 are walking turrets. And their weapons are already noted as interchangeable. There's no evidence EX-Gears actually improved pilot aiming. Destroids already use a sophisticated FCS with AI support and radar with excellent target tracking. Destroids aren't THAT big so they don't have THAT big of a reactor to power everything. Pin-point barrier and ECA use power dedicated to powering weapons which have significantly more firepower than most VFs.
  2. The one about UNIT has been floating around for a while since Davies was announced to be coming back. Any announcement of spinoffs with the Mouse-money coming in, I'd say, is too early. With studios looking at belt tightening on streaming shows, they will likely take a wait-&-see. If Who does well on Disney+, they may consider it.
  3. Steam Deck OLED silent announcement: https://www.steamdeck.com/en/oled There are some small spec bumps. They're touting better efficiency thanks to moving to a 6nm APU along with better battery life, Wi-fi 6E, slightly more screen real estate (7" to 7.4"). Performance should be on-par with the current Steam Deck but should last users longer than the original model. Here's the specs for the base model: 512GB OLED 512GB NVMe SSD 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display 7.4" Diagonal display size 6 nm APU Wi-Fi 6E 50Whr battery; 3-12 hrs of gameplay (content dependent) 45W Power supply with 2.5m cable Carrying case Steam profile bundle On sale Nov 16, starting at $549. Valve did say they are working on a next gen Steam Deck/ Steam Deck 2 but that's still a few years away.
  4. Doesn't look like it. Just taken up and down. It likely needs some more details hammered out behind-the-scenes so they stuck it in a "preview"-mode.
  5. Saw this article this morning. Consumers are paying more than ever for streaming TV each month and analysts say there’s no reason for the companies to stop raising prices (Yahoo Finance)
  6. Considering a VF's primary weapons are either located or used by the limbs, having detaching limbs adds no benefit if your only only way to use your armaments is blown off/rendered ineffective. Standard doctrine always calls for aiming for center mass since it's the biggest target and has the greatest chance of making sure your opponent doesn't stay combat effective. Aiming for limbs or headshots are acts of luck and chance. If I hit a wing or something, that's nice but I'm still aiming for the main fuselage of the aircraft since that's where the engines, avionics, etc. are. Oh you're talking about battroid mode? Might as well paint a target on the main body since that's where the pilot is and happens to be the biggest target of a Battroid VF.
  7. That's because we locked it to let things cool off back then but forgot to reopen it. It's back open now.
  8. Unfortunately, the Empress will not let others kill her baby she was supposed to care for. I would like nothing more than to take an eraser to the sequels and wipe them away. But the Empress refuses.
  9. Just making a note that we've warned him several times now. And should he start his long-winded piss&moan session like he has for other shows, he's got no one to blame for watching the show but himself.
  10. Yes, the quid-pro-quo can be annoying, but what's a Mandalorian to do? He's the only active Jedi out there. There aren't many left out there who would pick up the phone. What @Mog said. You'll want to watch the Mandalore episodes of Clone Wars and Rebels before you continue cuz if you want to understand the "why", it will be explained in those shows. Gideon already mentions part of the "why" behind why Bo Katan will not just accept the Darksaber this time around. And you should do so before you start Season 3.
  11. Season 1 was OK but I can see how one could get lost in the direction cuz it does get lost in its repetitive-ness. That being said, Season 1 doesn't require more in-depth knowledge from prior shows as Season 2 and 3 needed. Heck, you're gonna need to watch Book of Boba Fett between season 2 and 3 (it really was a season 2.5) or else you're gonna get really lost when you go from season 2 to 3. If you want to jump ship, no one is gonna hold it against you. Back in the day, I only lasted the pilot for Game of Thrones before I jumped ship. I occasionally saw a clip or 2 as they popped in on my feed but still couldn't jump into it. I even tried to see what the commotion was about by getting caught up on the last few seasons but it still ended low on my priority list and only came back to it on occasion. So don't feel bad; just get off the boat before you waste anymore of your time.
  12. Alec Guinness was in his early 60s when he started filming Star Wars and was near 70 when they finished. Ewan McGregor was in his late 20s when he started filming the prequels and ended in his early 30s. And just for comparison's sake, Ian McDiarmid was in his mid-30s when he did RotJ.
  13. Besides the postcard artwork, the 2 SKUs look to have the same contents, at the same price. It may be clarified or combined as we get closer to the release date. 🤷‍♂️ It may still have a release outside of Japan. Just not anytime soon. Zero was not announced. Only the TV shows and their adjacent releases.
  14. I can't answer that because I don't know. Is it leading to a movie? Season 2? Neither are in production and no announcements were made as to the direction future storylines will take. There will be no movement until the SAG strike ends. And you can bet Iger is going to be a bit more stingy with to green light something unless it meets a certain ROI-threshold with the cost of business expected to go up.
  15. I can't speak fan disappointment. (Star Wars fandom annoys me for with its sheer about of BS, vitriol, etc. so I'm avoiding them as much as I can help it) I can say the viewership numbers for the final episode were down compared to The Mandalorian S3's season finale and but outpaced Andor S1's finale. i would rank Andor'd S1 finale as more watchable than Ahsoka's so I can't figure that. The viewership seems to tune out as we got to the finish line. As I mentioned after the finale, I came out of the season unsatisfied. It setup more than it closed out and without a definite "Yes" to season 2, I was hoping for something more conclusive. Compared to the shows above, those 2 finales close a chapter to those books. Ahsoka's finale didn't really close anything. And without a "Yes" to season 2 or if this is going straight to Filoni's "movie", I'm left with a feeling of "What's next for these characters?". "Where are we going from here? Movie? Season 2?" You stranded me at this point and didn't tell me what's next.
  16. 14th gen Intel CPU reviews are out. Raptor Lake refresh is ..a refresh. And uses more POWA! The only value (price/performance) improvement is the 14700K. But 14th gen vs Ryzen 7000X3D gives the value crown to AMD; cheaper price/performance, lower power usage, equal or better performance. Or buy last gen 13th gen Intel if you are looking to upgrade from something a lot older and want to stay on Team Blue.
  17. The ending was a letdown so it's colored people's opinion in retrospect. There also hasn't been a official announcement of a second season (I think partially because of Ray Stevenson's untimely passing and I think this show was originally planned to be a limited series but then changed, so actors will need to re-sign and they can't do that until the SAG strike ends).
  18. Has some of the same notes as 9th/10th Doctor's intro themes, especially with the drum set.
  19. This was supposed to happen after Seed Destiny back in 2006 (it was even announced back then). But the lead writer, Chiaki Morosawa, got sick (she talked about it in an interview in 2008) and eventually passed away in 2016. Her husband and showrunner, Mitsuo Fukuda, finally got around to working on it and it was finally announced it was in production around the time Witch from Mercury started.
  20. Yes, I would like to know that myself. As a season finale, it was ok, but unsatisfactory. The big question is what they planned on doing with Baylan's plot. Without recasting that role, that's going to be a hanging thread. As for the ending...
  21. And unfortunately, we may never know with Mr. Stevenson's passing. If he isn't killed off in the next episode, recasting the part may be the only way to move that story forward.
