Two things:

1) Why am I only now finding out about this Tiny Desk Concert series?  A pretty large and diverse set of singers and groups did these.

2) How the hell is El DeBarge still hitting those high notes and falsettos so cleanly after all these years?!

I bet this song was playing when Kei Katsuragi and Tina Henderson (Of Orguss). When they were getting their groove on in the bedroom. The night  Athena was made. Before Key was sent to the future.

There’s some fun stuff on the tiny desk concert series from small rooms to lil animated fun. You definitely need to check out a few.

Also the KEXP live series is really great as well. Lots of amazing bands in a small studio setting. The Zig Zags, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard were introduced to me through their series and I really appreciate seeing bands do smaller things like these once in a while.
