Maiden Japan Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I'd rather prefered cartoon style cel shaded art than this realistic look painting. I'm not saying this is bad, but personally it doesn't fit to this style. But then again it's only a package.

I'm kinda surprised they didn't take advantage of the F-14 egg plane kit, toss in some Macross decals and call it Shin's F-14 from Macross Zero!! Talk about maximizing a mold. Jefuemon Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Ohhhhh. I like the 1J even better than the 1A. Does the same kit come with decals for both or is it a different product? I picked mine up yesterday. It comes with decals for Hikaru's, Kakizaki's, and Max's VF-1A from the movie, and VF-1J decals. Looks like it's going to be a fun, easy little kit to make; and yes, I'm probably picking up 2 more to get the complete set.

I have done up a VF-1J Hikaru Ichijo and a VF-1J Max, with Max being done up in matt bright blue. Tried to be as accurate to the colour scheme, with only the pilot done up wrongly(followed the pictures found on hobby search). Will be doing a VF-1J Milia using air brush for the first time next.
