Pete has nothing to be embarrassed about. He acted diplomatically to the situation compared to some of us. It's all on Memo for deciding to take that route with what he know from these discussions. Yes, I agree that people should be allowed to express their own opinions, but there comes a time after someone has used their "say" to deliberately and maliciously deceive people for personal gain that they should honestly not be given the chance to continue to use their say to deceive people. If he could break the pattern it'd be one thing, but it's been one attempt after another on his part to prop himself up as an authority on a subject he doesn't understand and portray the lot of us as idiots and frauds. I'd say the same for Doug. How many times can we expect to excuse him calling us all pedophiles and child pornographers before we stop treating it as "his say" and start treating it as reprehensible behavior? At this point, I'm reminded of a scene from Futurama where Dr. Zoidberg is trying to convince Amy to remove the rubber bands from his claws, and she fires back with "Fool me once, shame on you... fool me six or more times...". It doesn't change that fact that he said that YOU don't shut up...and yet HE came here, seeking YOU. Everybody sees that. It's a damn shame HE can't see that... he might actually change his behavior if he did. It's all on Memo for deciding to take that route with what he know from these discussions. You don't see something wrong or ethically questionable about him exploiting his authority (self-granted or otherwise) to deliberately mislead people? It's still a crazy place years after it came to be. And as a lot of people have seen here, his actions recently have really damaged his and others' credibility. I realize that he can do whatever the heck he pleases, but for the things he says and does to really matter, it totally relies on HG to take real action for Robotech. It's also up to the people really listening to this stuff to make their own conclusions about the situation eventually in the long run. After all, they are all still at the same position they were a year from now, if not worse. Wow, I've been here long enough to actually say that. And who cares about that podcast? He's eventually going to record a show that very few people are going to be able to participate in or actually download and listen anyway. Since when does looking like a 12-year old automatically mean that a person actually is 12 years old? Is it somehow impossible in the real world for a 20-year old to look like she's 14 or 15? You can try to make it about children learning about the birds and the bees. You can try to make it sound like its ment to bring up sexual topics so teens can talk openly. You can even try to say that macross frontier is a family show that is ment for the whole family to sit down and watch together... but its all bull poo. I don't see any gi joe public service announcement on the topic of sex in macross frontier. If any one is into naked little kids her it would be you. It could just be me but the idea of a grown man wanting to watch a cartoon as you call it with a child just so that the child can see nudity so the child can ask the grown man what the nudity is about so that the grown man can lead into the conversation with sex with the child is WRONG TO ME. I'm glad to know your all about that. I'm glad to know that you don't mind mixing your mecha with your sexual explorations. personally I don't think you have any right telling any child about sex just because you "happened" to watch macross ft with them and the naked girl came up. Because the bottom line is if the clip wasn't there in the first place they you wouldn't get that "moment" you are so looking forward to with the child. So by your own admition you have just said that macross frontier is setting up viewer of you a younger age to have to engade in sexual conversations with people that aren't the best in the matter of such things. Knowing those people like yourself are going to go into some bullshit on sexual liberation and god only knows what else. Of course this is coming from a guy that thinks its ok to think a certain way about children because as long as you don't touch them because we all know touching is illegal. So Yes it is child porn no matter how you like to look at this poo you call macross frontier. What I find so amazing is that seto tried to say she was of legal age when he first made his arguments. Seto "16years of age is that of an adult in post space war one so it is ok that she is nude because ranka is an adult!" But VFVT1 you just come right out and say "yup she is a child and I am proud that the creaters made her naked in the final senes! It mean so much to the story that she was naked and she was even able to save the universe because of it!" Now let me hit up on one more thing MR. look but just don't touch. The fact that you are into stories where is has the whole "the girl was able to sing so the univers was saved" is the perfect reason to why macross sucks so bad when compared to robotech. It may have been a neat idea the first time around. But how many times has macross sang this same song? Oh no, I assure you he's perfectly capable of understanding it. In fact, he even went so far as to say that both he and his "girlfriend" look younger than they actually are. He says he's 28, and professes to be frequently mistaken for someone of between 16 and 19 years of age. Of course, he claimed that it was problematic because he was being hit on by underage high school girls, so we can't discount the possibility that it's fantasizing or idle bullshit on his part. If he actually stopped ranting long enough to notice the hypocrisy of saying that he looks younger than he is and following it with the argument that Ranka looks twelve to him and therefore must be twelve irrespective of all evidence to the contrary, he might have been able to avoid making a fool of himself and getting banned from multiple websites. He got onto this particular tack after seeing me criticize Robotech: the Shadow Chronicles for blatantly and pointlessly making every female character look like a porn star, and seeing Viper post a comparison between the animation quality of Macross Frontier and that of Robotech: the Shadow Chronicles. This whole business with "Ranka naked in space" started as nothing more than a straw man for Bendo to rail against in hopes of making Macross Frontier look bad, and he escalated the verbal offensive when he couldn't get anybody to agree with him or even take him seriously. I'm actually working to facilitate their plans for a Robotech fan site which will actually adhere to the motto of "By the fans, For the fans" and provide a less Orwellian place for RT fans to hang out and share fan projects. I've actually got a couple people lined up who are practically champing at the bit to be given access to my collection of Robotech publications and carte blanche to use them to write a new "Infopedia" which will cover everything (show, novels, comics, games, etc.) and be hosted on that new site. Noticed him because of the blue MPC Alpha in his cubicle and ended up stopping to chat on my way out of the building. Also spent a bit of time researching content management systems for that aforementioned RT website project I'm helping with. What the hell? White noise... they don't exactly have any thematically-appropriate music in their current repertoire, and I can't see them springing for new music when they've put everything else on hold for the live-action movie. If I remember, Minmei's voice actress (Rebecca Forstadt) has expressed that she doesn't want to sing again, so she's probably out. I guess they could get Michael Bradley on it, though he's doing his own thing these days, or so I hear. God, I hope so. I'd hate to learn that I was losing my mind at 39! Indeed...
