New Vocaloid released today in Japan! "VY1 Mizki" is the first vocaloid developed by Yamaha Corporation instead of licensing out the program to other publishers. Mizki is intended for professional musicians and has a higher quality voice bank. The program come with no character image and is Yamaha's intention for it to be a genderless, faceless voice for any user.

This song turned around on me pretty quickly. First time I heard this song, I didn't really like it. The second time I listened all the way, and now I absolutely love the song and art.

MMD CUP 5 ended eariler this month with it's closing ceremony. The competition showcased some of the most spectacular MMD videos to date. As far as MMD Cups goes this one was off the scale in terms of quality and creativity. In total 363 entries were entered into MMD Cup 5, a recored shattering number in comparison to MMD Cup 4's 211 entries. The jury actually had to extend the competition & voting time, and extra awards were specially given to accommodate so many exceptional videos. The best & biggest MMD Cup yet!

Wooooooooooooooooooow!! I just came across HD vids of the 39's Giving Day concert and I'm like....... THAT'S NOT REAL!!!!

BUT IT IS!!!! Man, soooo many implications for this. I mean there you are, at a concert of your favorite idol! I'm amazed at how far technology has come and I can't wait to see more stuff like this!

Speaking as a somewhat,'dull-witted' connisseur of music and the skills needed to make it: the more I learn of this vocaloid programming and Miku character concerts, I cannot help but think of the bigger picture:

The world is stressed out & 'on-the-brink'; economically, resource-wise and geo-politically. Koreas are heating it up, w/China, Japan & the U.S. swirling around it and Mexico & Brazil are slugging it out w/narco-paramilitaries that rival their state gov'ts.

Europe & their currency are oscillating; including their immigrant Muslim/Judeo-Christian cultural clashes, there are ample reasons for more terror activity in years to come, not including Yemen, Somalia & Afghan/Pakistan. Russia is preparing to flex its muscle again.

Meanwhile, DeCulture energy waves are now being propogated from the Earth by Vocaloids...

It may be 11-12 yrs since the original Ataria Is. incident was 'predicted', but how long before a Zent or S.A. fleet defolds in our star system? :blink:

Looks like Miku and the rest of the Vocaloid family have been gaining notoriety worldwide due to the big Thank You concert back in March. Of course Miku's being mistakenly touted as a virtual singing hologram and not singing software by countless news outlets all over the world. Though there are few who actually did do their homework; surprisingly including CNN this time around.

Not only that, Hatsune Miku is even getting an English release soon. The World will certainly be Her's for the taking. :o

Anyone know the name of the band in that Giving Day concert? Or are they just a bunch of studio muso's? Amazing band either way...

Hooked on that Miku's Medley and now trying to hunt down some more jazz ala Miracle Paint :D

The band's names are listed in the DVD end credits, but not sure if they are a known band. During the course of the concert, several MMD composers did also join in to play. The guy with the white guitar jumping around the stage here is DECO 27, the composer of this song. How cool is that to be able to perform your own song with Miku on stage!
