    You know what I would find hilarious? We find out Captain Phasma is Finn's mother in a big reveal during their duel and it's Grace Jones under the helmet. What? Vader was voiced by James Earl Jones and had a white guy under the mask.

    Oh look another new age mystical obscure environmental message spewing thing from a guy that really just stick to designing valkyries. I wonder if obnoxious orgasmic transforming preteen idol singers will be in this one? Honestly with all sarcasm aside 90% of what Shoji Kawamori produces outside of Macross ends up being a slog to get through and afterwards I'm left with a hollow "that really wasn't worth it and a waste of my time" feeling.

    Name recognition. Most studios aren't willing to take a chance on an original big budget sci fi series. That and the whole "reboot for a new generation!" BS.

    Japan likes Moe blobs, harem shows featuring dudes who are obviously in the closet, repetitive 500 episode "AS SEEN IN SHONEN JUMP!" crap, and ultra violent shows with lots of gore or naked giants missing their private parts. Hell even the old staples of mecha and fanservice genres don't move the audiences attention meter anymore.

    The interesting thing about that matchbox toy is it was originally meant to transform. There's an old promo demonstration video from the 80s where a rep from matchbox tries to transform it and nearly breaks it. In the end child safety, bad engineering, and the cost of producing the toy did away with the transforming gimmick. You can still see where the toy had joints and parts for transforming on it and given a little mod work you could pull off the gimmick.

    Here's the thing. Big West doesn't need Tatsunoko or the original series to release the Macross sequels outside of Japan, and they already get profits from it's sale in Japan. The only thing preventing the sequels from coming over is HG's trademarks. If BW can get their own trademarks in once HG's are expired, voided, or are abandoned then Tatsunoko will have to come to them if they want to do anything with the original series international rights. The only way Tatsunoko could negotiate from a position of strength is if they got a hold of the trademarks themselves and do what HG is doing.

    No to reiterate for the hundredth time Tatsunoko only has international distribution rights to the original series only. Yes if HG didn't trademark the Macross terminology and kite symbol then Big West and studio Nue could in fact release the Macross franchise aside from the original series in the US.

    As he has no official standing at Tatsunoko he has jack all to do with anything regarding the reverting of rights from HG back to them. Remember the international merchandising and distribution rights of the original series were given to Tatsunoko by Studio Nue in exchange for work on the series episodes and the DYRL film. This has never been disputed and was reaffirmed in the Japanese lawsuit from the early 2000s.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-40860365 While I never really got to see his face, his ability to breath life and character into a giant rubber suit was amazing. He did a lot of great work, a lot of it unsung and uncredited at the time for Toho. The Godzilla movies he was in played a big part of my childhood I consider myself lucky to have even briefly met him at Anime Boston two years ago. He will be missed.

    Enterprise hasn't been made into an official Kancolle girl yet. There are doujinshi's and fanart concepts out there though.... LOL! I just realized sister sara's flight deck is a tommy gun.

    One of my favs to showcase on the ecchi and fanservice panel I run at anime conventions. It's basically a gag anime that's only 3 episodes long meant to be a parody of Kamen Rider. Don't exppect much plot developmen but it is entertaining for what it is. There is also a live action film trilogy of it.

    Meh. I'm more excited about the 3rd party RGM-79SC sniper I ver. Katoki Kakarot197 is working on over on his facebook page. Hopefully he'll have it up for review on youtube soon.

    As the resident tankery expert I'd thought I'd post this teaser for the upcoming first part of the six part Girls Und Panzer finale series. This one appears to have BC Freedom highschool in it. BCFHS represents mid-war France and was formed when two schools were forced to merge together BC(based on Vichy France) and Freedom(based on free france in exile) Highschool respectively.     Nick Hodges of History Buffs does good work in his reviews of historical films. His channel is worth a look if you're looking for someone to provide factual historical context behind movies and disecting how accurate to history the depictions are.

    So..... Gyanko's getting a HGBF kit of her own like Super Fumina? Fumina herself is getting another Super version this time with a revised new sculpt with less creepy death stare and cast off armor parts that form their own mini Winning Gundam.
