I am already wondering how they managed to make the cockpit longer and yet be able to hold the swing bar in place under the radome...(I guess they actually moved the cockpit further backwards instead of really poking further ahead): don't challenge the mechanics of a toy: Anime magic cannot apply to real world plastic (brittle in the shoulders already)!

Ok, after reading this thread for a while, I will jump on it with a screencap of episode 25, Macross Frontier: notice how the valk (Luca??) is actually a bit taller than the Q-rea?! I know she's missing part of the legs due to a previous attack by Brera, but still, use your imagination to attach the legs back and you still get a Q-rea the same size of a RVF-117EX! that's hard on poor Klan Klan who has to fit in the battle suit no matter what size, and still be able to slap a VF-25 in the head, carry super packs, climb out of the Q-rea...squatting, etc!

That is so true...I scanned through shops in HK (who are usually quite fast with these kind of stuff) but still no sign of the VF-1D, so I cannot verify if the civilians are on board, but (a bit off topic) the Roy Focker VF-0S was at a discount, together with all 3 variants of the SV-51! Didn't buy any. Seems the subject of the thread is hitting the shelves sometime mid-Feb. By the way, who's that uber-cute girl in your avatar??

love to add confusion to the already confusing situation, my VF-1S V2 roy is stand-alone, transformed it a bunch of times already and no exploding shoulders that I can tell. Hate the fact that it was re-issued with packs and I bought them separately...good things come to those who wait (cheaper too), about the supposed fix, Graham pointed out they actually did not do anything about the shoulders (or am I dilusional??)

Sorry for this late reply...and yes, the re-released max and millia Q-raus have no pilot (the max didn't in the first place), so you open the hatch and find a whole, that's it. I remember seeing the aftermarket millia in Causewaybay for around HK$100 once, the next week I went there with my mind set, the shop was gone...not the figure set (always thought it was awkward to have 2 heads for 3 bodies, so I had my doubts until I said "what the heck I want it anyway"...too late to trace it back now, maybe he moved, maybe he went home... I love the Q-rau and wished there was a porperly made Q-rea to go with the VF-25s, but, well...who's gonna come up with that?? Maybe a Bandai kit set would be nice, it is more similar to a Gundam than the VF after all!! eugimon: I want to see more millia kicking VF butt pics!!

Does he even NEED to use the decals in the first place?? with such masking and airbrushing skills...it's not so hard to just spray-on those red/black lines and forget about the decals (but I guess the "lazy" factor plays a part here ) wm cheng, what are you planning to do with the cannon vents and the auxiliary intakes that are...just too shallow to look like intakes at all? Back to the point: it's looking amazing, and so far you're the only person who has considered the wing-sweep weathering, none of the builds shown in japanese magazines have done that! maybe those guys are more robotic modellers than aircraft modellers? Looking forward to the next steps, and feeling ever more dissatisfied with my lame amateur attempt that does not do justice to this kit at all!

Did anyone show pictures of Kawamori-san and Bandai guys with "we're up to sth important" faces, handling a bunch of grey VF-25 transformable LEGO prototypes in an office environment? I would like to know if it really is possible to make such a complicated transformation mechanism with lego bricks and still be the size theirs looked like... Anyway, just had a conversation with a pilot friend of mine about his daughter and lego-building...then I stumble upon this discussion, what a coincidence!!

Well, I heard horror stories about the Ivanov and never got that, didn't like the light sand on the CF SV-51 so I went Nora, with golden feathers and all...mostly because I got the overall impression it was safe...YET, the wings are still floppy, there is a huge gap int he left sholder/wingroot lex in fighter mode...guess the Ivanov must then be horrible and this is acceptable for the price tag! Anyway, love the way the Nora SV-51 looks 90% accurate to the 3D model and it's huge, it's very menacing in Gerwal...and it needs a Shin VF-0 to fight with!!! It's a bit ironic how we got 1) Ivanov floppy vs. fixed arm Roy 2) a mess of Shin vs. fixed Nora

Sorry to insist, but again, there is only VF-0S arm fix and some CF VF-0A with the good shoulder and some with the bad one STILL no VF-0A "SHIN" stand-alone reissue whatsoever on the horizon?

Cool, I am waiting with anticipation... so much talk about the superpack, dioramas and preordering have made me reconsider buying a second VF-25F Alto (mine has 90% decal damage that looks more like weathering now)...the kit is still widely available in hobby shops around Hong Kong and sometimes at HK$299, it's around Y 3,500 only! But I still have Ozma waiting in the box.

How's work on this diorama going? I am eager to see it finished! Also, have you considered adding some weathering/battle damage? after all, this bird was wrestling with a fully-grown red Vajra and lost the original pilot, and by the way, the head was all-white in the first episode, maybe only due to animation error...

I know this has probably been discussed, but I am just still confused and concerned, because I now really want to buy a VF-0 Shin, would it be correct to wrap it up like this: 1) first edition VF-0 (S or A?) has biceps that blow up/shatter with the slightest blow of air 2) VF-0A has a screw that supposedly fixes the "self-exploding arms", but it's impossible to tell until it really shatters? 3) VF-0S w/ghost is certainly fixed and will not shatter 4) VF-0A Shin Kudo is yet to be re-released with the shatter-proof arms? I got the Nora SV-51 and now I REALLY would like to get Shin's VF-0, Roy's looks good, and its supposed to be safe, but that means I'd crave a DD SV-51...(which has self-exploding wings!) you get the drift?...is there a safe Shin that I could add to the dogfight?

Thanks G-man, I know there was nothing in Monkok...was there last weekend too, and was very sad to not have seen any Frontier figures at all. In your opinion, are they any good compared to, let's say, CM's Macross Series I (I want the Basara figure with the Mylene...but those are different series!)? Back to Frontier figures, I am still confused, there are three series listed in hlj: 1) the one we're discussing about now BAN955554 2) another one with a swimsuit Sheryl and Nyan Nyan uniform Ranka, etc. BAN954189 3)...and the mystery set of which I have not found any pictures of: BAN956045 Can someone save me from utter ignorance and confusion please!!?

Let me get it straight: at least you saw them and you got them but you're missing blue Sheryl, right? I haven't even seen them anywhere in town, monkok or wanchai...did they ever sell them identified and individually, or it was a whole set deal? sorry, I am just a bit out of the loop since I spent a month away.
