My online name is a Super Robot. I grew up with the 70's Super Robots. I've enjoyed the reimaging that most of them went through in the last decade or so (except for Shin Jeeg). Rocket punches, drill missiles, breast of fires, head lasers, gut lasers, electrical/magnetic joints, giant dragon heads, elongating staffs, invading alien empires, dinosaur armies, etc etc etc. All gutsy and cool. Throwing ones robot and self at the enemy after all other attacks failed? Awesome. Having a built in weapon system that's purpose is to throw oneself at the enemy? Eh. I'll still watch it but doubt it'll top MazinKaiser. I'm willing to go with that.....but I still think transforming into a giant rocket fist is stupid.

Where did I say it was going to ruin the whole thing? I have "lowered expectations". I just think it's stupid to ride a mecha that turns into it's own super final attack. Dangaio made fun of this in it's first episode when it shot off whatshername doing Dangai punch. It's pointless to have a robot mode if you're just gonna transform and ram the enemy anyways. Might as well fly around as rocket punch and punch him at the beginning. Save some time plus wear and tear.

Well my Focker's left shoulder just cracked. It's been sitting in it's box since I first bought it(pre-ordered from Toy-wave) opened and inspected twice, transformed twice. Felt the urge to check it again tonight and lo and behold a crack. Loverly. Made me open all the other 1/60v2's I've got. Everything else is fine. Now to take pictures and get Overdrive to order me up a replacement.

Sorta put it aside after that and never got around to finishing it. Not really a game you can pick up and continue from again. I'd forgotten all the button sequences.

Now why would I do that? It's real. I watch what I can see. Pride: Fedor Emelianenko - tenacious. Bob Sapp - have you seen the size of his arms??? Damn!!! UFC: GSP - AFAIC one of the best if not the best pound for pound fighter, Ben Stiller(Kenny Florian) he's just fun to watch. Forest Griffin - always grinnin'. Randy Couture - what a work ethic. I'd be very interested in a Anderson Silve vs GSP match but it's going to be a disadvantage for whoever has to gain or lose weight. Art of War: Bao Le Gao - he fights. EliteXC: Gina Carano. I liked CroCop but he just went down during his UFC debut...and his entrance them was "Wild Boys"? Who I want to see lose? Brock Lesnar. He's got nothing except size, the spear and the hammer fist. Granted he is a big mother and he used it to his advantage but if Captain America was actually bigger, he definitely looked much smaller then when he fought Tim Syvia, I don't think he would've won. IE I don't think Randy was ready no matter what he said during the post match interview. Therefore I'm rooting for Mir in their rematch. Mir's boxing was phenomenally during his match versus Nogueira. Clean hits all throughout the match. Awesome.

Let's go at it from another direction then. Heroes is a drama about normal people who gain extraordinary abilities. In a typical sci-fi/fantasy show you've got the archetypical characters. The Leader. The Nerd. The Hottie. The Powerhouse. The Brains. Whatever. None of those are "normal" people but caricatures. I don't think Heroes will ever go in that direction as each character has their own set of values and goals. To address your points: 1)Purpose in the world can mean a whole lot of things to different people and not all of them have to make an impact on the world. Person who wants to make an impact? Nathan Petrelli. Person who had a purpose but eventually was disillusioned? Mohinder. Person who's purpose is to live a normal life while having a family? Parkman. Etc etc etc. I'd rather have it this way as it makes them more human then superheroes. Really if they dropped me in the show you'd(hell the whole world) probably hate it since my purpose in the world is to be a civilian, live my life and start a family. Unless the special abilities I got helped with that purpose I sure as hell wouldn't go around advertising to the world what I could do because I've read Planetary. 2)Depending on what their personal purpose is some of those characters don't have a point in using their powers. Peter's current ability is to copy anothers ability. Well not very useful for a nurse is it? On the other hand some of them did embrace them. Daphne's one of them as well as pre-loss of power Hiro. Parkman certainly has no qualms about using his abilities once Daphne got captured eh? I don't see them as being afraid but being judicial about when, where and how to use their powers. 3) Hiros an idiot. We've all known that from day one. As for the rest of the cast, if it's not useful for the characters own perceived purpose why would they want to develop them?
