Transformers Super Thread 4: The Return
Dangard Ace replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
ROFLMAO!!! No offense to the guy but his friends are too funny!! http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=115718 Classics Jetfire is a great TF toy and rendition of the character, of that there's no doubt, but to compare it to a Macross Valkyrie..... -
BBTS is just expensive for non US based customers. They've got great customer service but for the price I pay for shipping I'd get stuff faster if I buy straight from HK or HLJ. Only time I buy BBTS is when they're having clearance sales. HLJ has done right by me so far so I'll stick with them for some stuff.

Haha! I love those guys! They do it for every new system that comes out regardless of brand name. It's a great social commentary piece.

GEEK NEWS UPDATE! November 16, 2006 (New York, NY) - On the NBC smash hit Heroes, time-traveling fanboy Hiro Nakamura is insanely obsessed with Star Trek. TV Guide magazine has gotten word that Hiro's father will be played by Trek icon George Takei (Sulu) (in the November 27 issue; on newsstands Thursday, November 23). The new character will be introduced in a January 29 cliff-hanger. "It was one of those lightning-bolt ideas," creator Tim Kring tells TV Guide. Masi Oka, who plays Hiro, is also over the moon. "This is absolutely brilliant!" the Tokyo-born actor tells TV Guide. "Hiro's father is this big honcho who shows up in America with his bodyguard. He has this whole elaborate scheme to kidnap his son and take him back to Japan." Adds Oka, "I just hope I get to say, 'Dad! Sulu is my hero, not you!' The sci-fi fans would love it!" ---- The Nov. 27 TV Guide hits newsstands next week.

Actually he does. It's in one of the other two Homecoming previews either on NBC's website or on Youtube.

I've got GH2. Also somewhat finished medium. Just trying to get some Furious Fretwork songs and a couple of the last songs, including Freebird, to five stars. Unless they're all at 5 stars, I ain't finished.

LOL! You joined MW too late. You should've been on the old MW boards if you wanted discussion and arguments about everything Macross related. Red Comet, SkullOne(greece guy), Vostok 7, LittleValk comics, VF5SS, RT vs MW board wars. M7 vs M2 wars. Ah the good old days. Kyp: keep the 1/60 VF-1. It'll be a good scale indicator when you get the YF-19 and can compare the two.
-
Wasn't thinking about PT as a gimmick. More the radom, the individual missiles, air brake, the flaps.....(cool gimmicks really but still gimmicks) We can agree on that.
-
Whatever. It's not about the paint schemes. I was going for the most similar pics/viewing angles so that you can compare the shape to the lineart. Feel free to turn them both into b&w images so you don't have the paint scheme bothering you. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/po...-1111989808.gif

Huge chest plate, skinny arms, bulbous canopy, skeletal fingers,.....etc. etc. etc. And that's it. No more 1/60 vs 1/48 from me. You can do your own comparisons by looking on the main Macrossworld site where Graham has documented pics of all the valkyries out so far.
-
They did that so that they could shake hands with each other otherwise Getter Robo would have completely destroyed Grendizer.
-
In a word, No. 1/60 scale is THE most complete Macross line to date. If you want to have your toys in scale with each other you did alright. Then there's the lineart argument where the 1/48 takes a few liberties with the design. The 1/60 better matches the original lineart but has less gimmicks and detail. I'm not going into the 1/60 vs 1/48 debate. A quick search will show that there are alot of threads devoted to that.

I'm quite alright with it being delayed until say......next year. Then I can vote SOC Gunbuster as TOTY this year and YF-19 TOTY next year. If they both come out this year, it'll be a coin toss who gets my vote.
-
Yup. Got mine(shipping notice) today. Er....time stamp says yesterday.....I guess it's been sitting in my inbox for awhile.

Aestevails? GEKIGANGER!!!

Well that was a pretty damn good leadup to the Sweeps week episode. Homecoming where we get to see Sylar take on Claire and Peter! I'll wait for you westcoasters to finish watching it before I start posting about this awesome episode that happened tonight. HRG FTW!

Sold and SOLD. http://pony-hp3.web.infoseek.co.jp/CD-GUNBUSTER.htm If the YF-19 comes out this year I don't know which to vote for TOTY.

I love Kreemzeek! Messed up both Autobots and Decepticons in that episode. They should make a boxset of Kremzeeks like Monkeys in a Barrel. OT: Last couple of days I've been messing around with the Cybertron BW Prime and Megatron. Does anyone else think it'd be funny if Prime went all apeshit psycho against the Maximals? Optimus Prime - Terrorize!! -

I prefer to have heard the Japanese audio and original BGM but that fan dub ain't bad. I found it immensely more enjoyable then what we got on the dvd. Prime and SS were pretty good, Megatron....eh, not so much. -
