  1. I don't quite fully agree with you on that. It was indeed good initiative on Messer's part but his execution was probably the best approach for someone as irresponsible as Hayate. I don't see how it was overly dramatic or even irresponsible of Messer especially when no one has stepped up to discipline Hayate and put him in his place. How can he be given a good ass kicking when Arad has given him a free pass not to follow orders? That gives him the perfect excuse not to do anything unless its by his own volition. Messer's tactic seems like to get under Hayate's skin to show him how much he's taking his role too lightly and being a liability to the Delta platoon with his antics. So far it seems to be working.
  2. There are other ways to do team bonding without having to steal a military aircraft and taking it out for a ride. Seriously Hayate has it all in the wrong in this regardless of his intention. The fact that they are now in a state of war and all he's doing is goofing off and being a rebellious fool gives Messer every right to chastise him.
  3. I wouldn't say he's really allowed to even if Arad said it was fine that he doesn't like to follow orders. Hayate is being an irresponsible and immature jackass who thinks he can do whatever he pleases. Taking the top of the line model military aircraft out for a joyride just proves he has no discipline and doesn't take his role in the Delta squadron seriously enough. Since Arad is too laid back to care about disciplining Hayate, Messer has to step up and do it himself even though it should be Arad's responsibility. Messer may be a hardass but his actions were on the right as Hayate will be nothing but a liability if he doesn't shape up.
  4. I did. I only saw Megaroad-04 and Megaroad-05 in the Frontier star map but it quickly pans away to Macross Frontier and Galaxy. It's very difficult to determine the other fleets since you couldn't read the names anymore since they were too far.
  5. Well it's still early in the series but she'll likely will anyway since she's the protagonist idol. She doesn't even need any fold amplifier like Mikumo to generate fold waves.
  6. What's odd is that umineko in Japanese actually means seagull. And there are seagulls on Ragna.
  7. Really? Delta will have that many episodes? That's longer than all the other TV series except 7.
  8. I'm pretty hyped for the upcoming Macross series. I haven't been this excited since Frontier 8 years ago. Anyway, does anyone else here think that the promo image for Delta gives of a Macross Plus vibe?
  9. I just listened to OST 2 and it was estatic. @Sptize The song in Sheryl's charity concert is there. It's titled Yousei (track 10). There was one track I was hoping it would be released in OST 2 but didn't. It was a military march version of Zero Hour and it played at the end of episode 16 (Ranka Attack). There were a couple of tracks also not included in OST 2 but someone posted the link in 4chan. Here are the songs and links:
  10. My Macross world was pretty similar to valkyriepilot since I also live in the Philippines. I was first exposed to SDFM sometime 1985-86 which was aired in one of our local channels though badly dubbed in english. I was an 8 year old kid then and watched it like most cartoon show. It was much different from the other robot shows that I watched and was pretty found of it. When Robotech aired here a few years later it confused me being the same show as Macross. It took a good friend of mine in high school to point out that it wasn't. I first watched DYRL on a chinese movie channel in the early 90s but I couldn't understand it much til I rented a subbed version. In high school I got to watch Macross II OAV on VHS which was pretty good during its time then 2 years later Macross Plus. My mind was totally blown away after that and rekindled my love for Macross. I anticipated for the next Macross series unfortunately the release of Macross 7 didn't appeal to me. Many of the songs were cool but the 7's story and Basara just didn't click for me. Despite having no internet those days anime wasn't to hard to get here. But acquiring certain information on the series as well as pictures were much harder to find since they usually were on magazines and official art books.
  11. Hmm... This looks more like from the Legios in Genesis Climber Mospeada.
  12. I guess we were very fortunate to watch the original Macross first despite the bad dubbing in the mid 80's and not Robotech. In those days I didn't know what anime was and I considered it like the other robot shows back then (Voltes V, Daimos, and Mazinger Z). I suppose anime became mainstream earlier in the Philippines than than in the West. Tagalog dubs weren't all that bad. It was a hit or miss (miss mostly). ABS-CBN had the worst anime dubs though especially when they did NGA. >_<
  13. What do you guys think of Menclave subs? I know they take a lot time subbing MF but they seem to have a good record when it comes to quality subs. IMO they had the best subs for Gundam 00. For me now its either Shinsen or Menclave. I'm also considering if I should wait til the subs for the BR/DVD is out since the images are better and some of the animation/CG were fixed. Which brings to my question. Which subbing group has released the Yak Deculture edition of episode 1?
  14. I was 6 years and 3 months that time. I was first exposed to Macross around 1985-86 when it was localized here in the Philippines. It had crappy dubbing though and the opening song was changed. But it didn't matter to me back then. When RT first aired 2 years later it confused me to hell and I thought it was the same show. I'm happy though that I was already around when Macross was born.
  15. Great episode and finale. Thanks to whoever uploaded episode 25 on YT. I missed the last third due to the cut stream. ^^ I love the mecha pron and it didn't disappoint. Macross Galaxy launched so many Ghost-9 fighters to make Guld keel over 10 fold. I'm not surprised about the "unresolved" triangle though since Alto's true love is flying the sky. If Sheryl and Ranka want him for their own they have to match that or at least coincide with it. Sheryl was on the right track though but encountered a big bump when she got sick. My only frustration is that Leon didn't get his agonizing death from Grace or Vajra. I'm still hoping he will as his penalty for his coup to seize power. Now there is news for a movie release. I just hope its a sequel and not a retelling though that won't be bad. There's still a lot of unanswered questions but some I suppose are best left as that.
  16. Damn. I'm feeling kinda envious. Just when the subs were released my PC conks out on me and I get no video. At least I was able to watch the live stream and raws. Must get it fixed before the last episode.
  17. That would be an awesome idea to reanimate the original series or DYRL. I wonder if Haruhiko Mikimoto would go back to Macross again after Mac2. His style is so much refined now than in the 80s though I still loved it back then. I'd love to see it in the same quality of animation as in the PSX game. If they ever reanimate the series I wonder if they'll keep the DYRL aesthetic designs which seem to be canon to the Macross universe. I hope maybe it will be like a movie (or 3 part movie like MSGZ and the new Eva) or OAV series to retain a high quality in animation.
  18. Great episode. Looks like everything running into full gear for the finale. What surprised me in this one was Sheryl's singing now creates fold waves. But unlike Ranka it doesn't seem to affect or attract Vajra. I wonder if Sheryl and Ranka singing in unison will actually cross the gap between Vajra and humanity and finally end the war peacefully. It saddens me though that Sheryl is incurable from V-type virus and doesn't have much time left. It doesn't seem fair that she's getting the short end of the stick. Alto's and Luca's hatred for the Vajra have blinded them and seems to have reached a point where they're willing to attack even their own comrades. When Leon attempted to assassinate Grace I knew it would be futile and will likely cost him dearly for it. Hopefully he gets a long, agonizing death. I wasn't expecting Grace to have her own VF or pilot one. But nonetheless she was really hawt in a flightsuit. Lastly the planet which Brera and Ranka found was really the eye-catcher of the entire episode. I'm expecting it to be loaded with Vajra as well as other PC goodies. Did anyone notice the other cyber voices from episode 15? Anyway, this episode was 2 thumbs up for me.
  19. The site may have mistakenly placed the pic instead of whats now. We've seen a lot of images with Ozma in his flight suit. It may have been from an older episode for all we know.
  20. Ranshe Mei might be a single mother or like all wives took their spouse's surname. When I think about it Ranshe might be the last name instead of Mei since her name was written in kanji which gives her a Japanese/Chinese heritage.
  21. Its likely to be Mei than Sterne since its from her mother's name. Brera's name may not be his real one and maybe just fabricated by Grace.
