I was looking at acrylic cases for my LEGO sets but all the ones I could find were expensive. Even the sheets they sell at Home Depot are like $40 for an uncut one. I don't even know if it's enough material to make a box with either.

It will fit fighter mode, but battloid won’t while the case is sitting horizontally. If you stand it vertically, it can fit a full size DX Chogokin with Fast pack or even the GBP armor with the stand.

I posted pictures of the IKEA Brannboll earlier that are perfect for Hi-Metal R figures.

I want to see more Macross 7 HMRs come out like the VF-11, VF-17, and Max & Miria VF-22

Yeah, I live in SoCal too, I love Frank'n Son's. Brother and I used to go every weekend to play some MtG when we were into it. There weren't that many places that had the latest Macross toys though, I think ToyArena and one other place. But they were usually move expensive than what we could get them online for.
  6. Is your Renewal version yellow or is that just the lighting? It's weird because it looks like you also switched the shoulder pieces between the two since the Revival has the same shade as the Renewal and vice versa.
  7. Really, the last one? I bet when they release a new DX VF-1 like the DYRL Super VF-1A or ELINT Sseeker, you'll be the first one to crack and buy one.
  8. After watching that video, I'm now certain this is one of those toys I'd transform once, pose and display it, and never touch again.

Interesting, I thought Toys 'R' Us was pretty much dead and only carried big brand toy lines like LEGO since they have that "shelf space rental" system. The only Toys 'R' Us located near me are in Macy's and take up a small space in the department store.

So why do you think Hi-Metal R toys are shelf warmers? Is it the price, the size, over produced?

Hard to say. I can see Zero, Plus, and maybe Frontier doing well here in the U.S. but I don't know if the general audience would of appreciated 7 or Delta since it focuses so much on idols and singing.
  12. Well that sucks to hear. I wonder if the quality is on a case by case basis or just the entire release overall? I kind of wish I had kept my Renewal version. I do like the flat sheen though...
  13. Such a beautiful mess. I really hope it has some improvements other than what we've already seen in previous Revival releases.
  14. I'm curious, did anyone get theirs with evenly flushed wings? The one I got is minor but not perfect. Did the weathered version have the same problem?
  15. I just got my first VF-0D too. Its not as big as yours though. 😀 This thing should come with a warning for sharp objects. I also picked up this guy from Amazon.

Where are you guys finding these mass produced VF-1A figures from? I'm still trying to get just one!

I don't know about cost effective, I end up just buying more figures.
  18. The more I keep reading this thread, the more suspicious I get with Kitz Concept.
  19. I don't mind it if it'll drive the price down and help grow interest in the franchise,

I feel your pain. Sometimes I get gout on my wrist and it hurts like hell. At that point I can’t even pick up or handle anything heavier than a piece of paper.

Yeah, I been buying a lot of HMR recently and I’m finding them more fun than the DX Chogokin for playability.
  22. Oh okay, I thought that was a slip cover since the picture was vertical.
  23. What does the back of the box look like? Anyone got pics?

I'm digging the VF-19. Everything about it is pretty impressive. The figure is solid and even the box is is an upgrade to the older paper-thin HMR packaging.
  25. Thanks for filling me in. That's good to know. It's still strange that Bandai hasn't capitalized on it.
