I have always heard good things about hobbyfan..but there items sometimes seem to be on preorder forever. They also are listing a new 4 pack of 1/144 destroids...cool!

Its a cool little model. Solid canopy and no landing gear...but very cool. Check out Carls corner from the front page (Carl loves Tread) there are some good pictures there

Well...our wishes for a Valk booster to go with our Hase's appear to have been answered. Monkey Nugget has confirmation that Angry Monkey models next piece will be the Valkyrie Booster. We had discussed appealing to SMT on this..now we wont have too! I am wicked excitied about this. I have already started on my Glaug booster...now the first 1/72 scale Angry Monkey product. SWEET! For those of you unfamiler with the booster I know it appeared in at leats one episode...now I need to find a truck to launch it from! Anyways...I want to be the first to thank Rob and put my name on the preorder list for this kit!!!! Two in fact please. WOOWHOO! I'm sure it would help Rob to be able to gauge interest...so maybe anyone else who is interested can chime in. Obviousley I would expect little is known right now, but he said they are shooting for completion by the end of summer. Sooner, possibly, depending on interest. I don't know any pricing info...and I suspect Rob doesn't yet either....but I do know he is planning on keeping the consturction similar to that used on the Gnerl Pod and Glaug pod. both were solid pieces that were easy to clean, flash free, and pieces that attach fit snuggly and easily with little or no puttying required. GREAT NEWS...happy Easter all!

great idea Chad! I can't wait to see more!

1/72 Regult Scout... MMMM
-
It is in fact, which is part of the reason (Im sure) for the cost. Im actually quite glad about this...if it was pieces it would need to be fit, and all gaps filled..this way the seam just needs a little scraping and sanding and it will be perfect! Quick build...starting now! Pictures soon.

while I have no basis for this, I would assume if the sales stay high we will see a VF0 battroid...maybe SV51 too..

he goes by the handle "Blackaces" on these boards. He's a regular contributor and is affiliated with a toy store in Hong Kong, I believe. Is it Hong Kong? I can't remember. singapore. Do a search on BlackAces and send him a pM.

I do not believe the kits are in production any longer...but I have seen them from time to time on Yahoo Japan.

Carl...good points that I agree with...and emulate myself....I find, often...if I get a recast I often want the original...there are 4 reasons behind this: 1) I like to have more then 1 kit....Im always worried I will mess it up...so having an original "up my sleeve" and the recast that I feel less worry risking is nice....then thereb are kits like the Club M Qrau...where I wanted more then 1 because I want to do more then 1 version 2) The originals are always better....less generational shrinkage, normally more detail (unless it is remastered) 3) Completist...as much as I say I am a hobbiest first I do like to have the box and all the cool stuff that goes with a kit. 4) Oft times I am so taken with a kit that I want the best version possible...original. Examples of this type of behavior with me. 1 - Musasiya VF2SS - bought the E2046 recast...then hunted down the original 2 - Club M QRau - bought a recast....then hunted down the original 3 - Club M VF4 - as above 4 - Club M 1/48 Ultimate Strike - bought Noels recast...still looking for an original 5 - Tanmen Fan Racer- recast to originals (as above) 6 - NewType and Monocraft Legioss and Treads - again..found a recast first (on Ebay) of each...then tracked down originals 7 - WF 1/72 Ghost - Same trick 8 - Orange Collection VT1 - Bought the recast...liked it so much I tracked down and bought all the Macross Orange collection kits available 9 - 1/48 Reppu Eager - bought the recast...tracked down the original 10 - WF 1/72 Battroid - Ditto And Im sure there is more. The interesting thing is since I couldn't see anything but pictures of these kits I doubt I would have spent the money on the originals for all of them initially. The Legioss and Tread (for instance) while a favorite of mine was so expensive for a small model I could not rationalize it...then I got the recast and knew I had to find a way to get the original....and in all these cases I paid high $'s for the originals...so...I would argue in my case not only did recasts not hurt the market, it helped it. (BTW...anyone got an original 1/48 Ultimate for me!?!?! )

I've got some great and simple ideas to get ya started when you're ready Nah, quite alright. I've already got several scratchbuild projects planned Most are Macross related, and several have been started, in one form or another. Well...for my sake I would hope you do not stop recasting... as long as some amount of control and ethics are in place I think it enhances the modeling hobby.
