  1. My expectations for the Phalanx and the 'extras' are going up and up the longer I wait . . .
  2. Humble apologies - I did think that those were wings. I will look more closely at the lineart to understand those pieces. Surprised they kept them on since they're not integral and they look so bad . . .
  3. DUUUUUDE - that's sweeet, the crooked license plate makes it for me . . .
  4. As someone who has not seen much of the anime (other than the original) I have to say the VF-2SS blows away the more constantly seen (in toy form) YF-19 and YF-21. Those wings in battroid kill me. It's like they forgot about them until the end and said -- just let them hang off. I have not seen that anime but do they grow new ones? Because they would snap off in 1.2 seconds in actual battroid combat. I always think - "Gee, those fighters must have done something great in the anime cuz the designs suck". And equally - "Gee, that Mac II must have sure sucked for people to hate on that design". I know folks will see this comparison pic and still like the 21 better. And I will be shaking my head and wondering if they're seeing the same Go-Bot design I'm seeing. Your winning YF-19/YF-21 argument against me is 'see the shows then you'll know' I guess . . . (Ooooo - and on topic I hope Yamato does a 1/60 VF-2SS)
  5. To be getting Ride Armors and Beta Fighters in 2009 in just amazing when you think about it. I'm sure you all have. And I'm extremely grateful that companies like Yamato and Beagle are catering to this segment. People always post complaints and then there are the inevitable slew of counter-posts saying there should be no complaining - we should all just 'count our blessings'. Both posts are OK. Without them there would not be much to talk about. I personally would not allow myself an criticisms if the toys were $30 - $40 bucks. But the higher the price goes the less guilty I feel about being nit-picky . . .
  6. I think I have only seen the Beagle Fuke sculpt on Yacolog. These 2 pics here are of the Beagle, just at different angles - correct? Where can we see the early Toynami version?
  7. This comparison pic helps me appreciate the Beagle head sculpt more. The MH and CMs are pretty much Matchbox quality. This next one is going to be fun to talk about. I bet Beagle's sales for the Fuke version are going to be though the roof . . .
  8. GREAT SHOT! I did not realize that two bars could go on one stand . . .
  9. BINGO. The Regult especially has very nice tampo detail. But I do realize these are the coolest Mospeada toys ever so I don't want to come off as a whiner. Since this is Mospeada News - are you guys aware of the Garfish model that's supposed to be available soon? I do have some other details but I'm still very sketchy at this point. Check out the pic below. This was part of the modeling thread of MW . . . http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...7453&st=480
  10. I can't find the pics on these posts now but I saw a few Beagle pics back in the day with the "Stick Stickers Stuck On" (say that 5X fast). They seemed to look all milky and too thick if that makes sense. Don't like them. AND ANOTHER THING - I was just looking over my Revoltech Regult and VF-1J. Anyone know what I'm about to say concerning the tampo-printing on these compared to the $200 Beagle?
  11. Those good ol' paintings are awesome. They don't seem to make them like that anymore (although I do love the modern style illustrations on the new Rey box). I said this before but I'm still looking up at my Yamato 1D with gobs of perfect tampo-printing. It has a complex transformation and fairly high price point - quite like these Beagles that feature almost no printing. Maybe it will just take Beagle some time in the toy market to catch onto these details.
  12. Cool find. Do you have a bigger pic of this one?
  13. Oh - I should have re-posted the pic since it was back a few pages. Can someone give a link to where this was talked about originally? I want to make this very talented soul an offer to custom build me one . . .
  14. Uh - Enjoy??? WAAAAAAAAAIT a second! Buried in all the wonderful Optimus Prime praise (and it deserves it) is something I veeeerrrry cool! I need to know more about this Garfish. Someone else asked for a ruler so we can see scale -- and about availability?!? Please give more info! (and I apologize if its somewhere else I haven't seen yet)
  15. Well, I wouldn't want "YELLOW" printed on the VR-051 fuel tank, but some of these other markings could have been nice pre-printed. . .
  16. Not sure if you can enjoy Macross and RB as 'dual franchises'. To me RB is just a doorway where a bunch of cool things came though at the right time for me. I have Destroids Tomahawk and Defender, a VF 1D and a few Revoltechs in my cube and I don't really think of them as one OR the other. I'm just a fan and enjoy that we have access to something you'd think would be long forgotten by now. Of course the popularity of Macross worldwide has kept it mostly alive but in its pitiful way RB has too. An engineer came over to my cube today and said "awww man, I loved Robotech". Ahhhhhh - we all did. But it would have sapped all the fun out it to go into "it's really Macross you know". We just enjoyed the moment . . .
  17. Like a lot of you I avoid the stickers -- so pre-painted detail is a huge plus. I'm looking at my Yamato 1D right now. Attention to pre-painted detail is incredible. And it was cheaper than this Beagle - by a good bit . . .
  18. Great initial review on Anymoon.com Don't know if this pic is official or not, but it does show that Rey's should at least get the black and white hips stripes. Not as excited for this even though I won't cancel my preorder. They should have included something to give people that "gotta have it" feeling. I want Beagle's sales to be super strong to fund some enemy figures later on in the same scale, and they won't touch them if their hero mechs don't fly off the shelves . . .
  19. I tried to post on there a few times but it seemed like no none was reading other people's posts before making their own comments. It was like "let me stay in my own world, I just want to vent my random thoughts and pay no attention to any new ideas". As you say -- there are many great 'people' out there, but they're not going to keep repeating over and over again that what is going on blows. It can only be said so many times before they check out of the process and wait for the tides to shift for the better. So hopefully any LAM or SR project will not be made for hormonal 12 year olds - but for Macross/Mospeada and Sci-fi lovers that have a brain. Then I think you'll finally see some 'normal' fans checking back in . . .
  20. It's sad that there's only one James Cameron. He won't do an Alien Prequel, so then we're left with, well, everyone else . . .
  21. AGREED. I've checked this thread 20x and without posting, nothing to say right now I guess.
  22. I guess this Defender release means we're one step closer to the Phalanx. If the Phalanx comes with just 2 more ground crew I will be disappointed. Needs either 4, or a missile truck or something. I will still be buying if it only comes with 2, but I think they could snag more buyers and fund the Spartan release if they put some cool 1/60 extras in that many valk owners couldn't resist.
  23. I've always had this vision of creating a diorama where they all just heard something in the woods and have their guns at the ready, or are scrambling to get to their gear. So I was hoping for head sculpts a little more serious I suppose. But like you said, with Ray, he could have a light hearted expression even in the midst of that . . .
  24. This is what I wanted - a snarl or battle scream! I mean - they're in state-of-the-art combat gear, deadly situations - not playing parcheesy! s h e e s h . . . Beagle Expression - I've just eaten a Lemonhead Toynami Expression - I wonder when that oaf with sit on the tack I put on his chair . . .
