you can slide out the whole thigh/leg assembly and tighten the screw that holds the two-part thingy that encloses the actual metal ball joint... or unscrew and remove it and coat the metal ball joint w/ whatever will stick to it (nail polish doesn't stick to metal that well)...

based on this statement and the non-mention of the VF-4... just a feeling, but i'm betting Yamato will definitely make the VF-4. the only question is when...

the problem is, we don't even have a "nicer subcompact camera"... my wife was all set to get a basic DSLR kit before she decided to buy another 1k+ handbag! damn that ... now it's been downgraded to a - what do you call that class of cameras just below DSLRs? and did i mention, i now have to share in the cost of buying it. anyway, it would be a cool idea for you guys w/ some knowledge to open a Photography 101 reference thread, specifically for taking pics of toys/models etc....

actually, IIRC, the cover for the hip/nosecone attachment was the first ever breakage reported when the Roy 1S first came out (even b4 the shoulder hinge)... by member Alex... his sheared completely off when trying to remove the T-bar from the hip/nose attachment...

just got confirmation that my 2 1Ds have been purchased... just need to wait for it to be hand delivered from HK... @logos - wouldn't it be great if you ordered that replacement part for the cover and they gave you the whole detachable fuselage/cockpit part (just like ordering the shoulder hinge and getting the whole arm w/ it)... you can have the 1S w/ the 1D fuselage/cockpit on it's arm w/out having to get it from your 1D...

so the April re-issue/re-stock of the 25F will be able to accommodate the armor pack as well?

yeah, i think the TV SPs will definitely look better on the 1D.

yeah... if one v.2 VF-1 is approx. $100, then just cross out 5 or 6 on your to buy list and get the SDF-1 instead...
