Wow... this movie might actually do worse than Speed Racer. If nothing else comes of this I hope legalities get resolved as far as US rights to Macross. Honestly, I didn't know what to make of that manga when I first saw it. Kind of makes me feel like I need some mescaline to really appreciate it Gubaba - There's so many choice Gamlin quotes in there I can't even pick one. I'm a big fan of when his partner tells him "you're one bad dude." though. I like the Gamlin/Mylene wedding picture better, albeit far from being definitive.

I don't know what my favorite part is... the part where the fans are yelling "c'mon! strip!!" or maybe the "Bombard! Hear me sing!!" I had to wrap up on a high note regardless. If I'm reading the index correctly it's credited to a single of "Holy Lonely Night."

Lazy Sunday, and trying to watch other anime (Gurren Lagann this time around) got really boring, so I decided to finally start scanning in Macross 7 Remaster Box images. These are the 8 fold outs from Remaster Box 1; the thing is laquered to high heaven with gloss so I had to do high DPI scans, although I think it turned out well. They're all ~1150x1540, if I'm pushing space let me know mods... there's alot more where this came from Edit: Sorry, but I'm not going to scan much of the extras. But here's some VF-22 lineart for you mecha pr0n pervs out there. I would have gone for Basara's custom VF-19 but I couldn't be cruel.

What browser are you using? I've found that the only browser that seems to be ~100% with kana/kanji in Windows (with no localization) seems to be Safari for Windows, oddly. It even renders title bars correctly. Of course, for me anyway, reading it is another matter... so thanks for the translations regardless.

The drama on AS is like the only thing getting me through a week with no Frontier although I think I may have already ruined people's childhood memories even tho I just signed up I tried watching Aquarion but it was so, so bad I couldn't take it any more. I can't decide whether to torture myself watching something else now or just rewatch 1-10 again with a different set of subs... I gotta say tho I'm a big fan of an NBA Finals with tempers flaring... I don't think Tim Duncan & the Spurs are human... Mmmmmmmmmmmm Sheryl's strawberry pie...

I think I might have to buy this CD next time I get an order from Amazon.co.jp. Even tho I'm a bit disappointed by a handful of the songs, I can't seem to ever change to the next CD in my car...

I only vaguely remember Isamu flying to Earth, but I think that pretty much falls in line with the M.O. of one Watanabe-san. The man has come up with great, complex characters, with beautiful storylines about coming to terms with their pasts... except when it comes to the 'main' protagonist... especially with regard to their ending. Although I will give him Samurai Champloo. Spike's ending in Cowboy Bebop however was absolute, complete, unadulterated garbage... but I digress. I like Plus, don't get me wrong... it just feels like Isamu is there for the ride most of the way... and then for all intents and purposes gets the girl and saves the earth in spite of that in the end.

7 just gets no love... I dunno... I think the whole cast of characters was the best in any Macross thus far. I still haven't seen II though, I think I'm going to sit on it for a while before I finally watch it.

Out of curiousity, what's the gamma set to on your Mac? Contrast might just be showing up as lighter since standard Mac gamma is 1.8; NTSC is 2.2 I think. Is your DVD set to R2 or region free btw? Trying to find firmware to kill the region lock on my Mac is a pain... Either way, it looks like they went all out on line enhancement for the remaster. I kind of like how soft everything looks where the main gun is firing. Still kind of on the fence about picking it up though. How are the extras?

I don't even remember why I started; maybe it was the fact someone left the Robotech Perfect Collection in boxes they left at my house and I had to remove the taint of Reba West (or Rebecca Forstadt or whatever the hell her name is) from my soul... but I started marathonning Macross series a few months back. I think I did it in about 3-4 weeks after sitting on complete series on my hard drive for ages. Although, I still haven't watched Macross II... and it took me a while to get around to 7 extras. Of course, that's with a full time job and classes 6 hours a week, and moving one weekend... but I watched obsessively during my free time. The hardest thing about M7 is that none of the episodes really seem to have a logical conclusion, so I'd end up watching 2 (or 7) more episodes just because. And, the first 10 or 12 episodes had me really close to just deleting it... however now I'm the proud owner of ¥60,000 (~$570) worth of Macross 7 Remaster Box goodness, so... go figure.

What OS are you running? I think Max requires 10.4 Tiger Universal... if you have only 10.3 there's a player called Cog that I haven't tried but it might work for you. There's older versions that are for 10.3.9.

Or Alto for that matter... I've got to go with Sheryl for now, although I'll probably vote all of them, one at a time. Something about her crunchy exterior and soft, chewy inside. As much as i like Ranka, I know all about those sweet, cute, moe girls and how they can turn on you at the drop of a hat.

Download an open source program called MAX. Can convert flac, ape, wv, and lame... probably more that I can't think of.

Hrmm... Chihiro subs were actually pretty solid this time around. I wonder if they're actually going to keep the show or drop it now that gg is out...
