  1. Say hello to the VT-1 patient zero. Can we have the authoritative word on how in partaking in this activity help us? I certainly hope it's not another "help us help you (the next time) promissory" again. There has been too many screw-ups on this VERSION 2 already. I skipped the previous version 2s and bought the VF1D after it got a clean bill of health. The VF1D convinced me to get the VT-1. As far back I know, these problems has been complained to death. So what do we do when these pictures turn out to be as useless as the old posts?
  2. It is with some sadness that I'm here to announce that my VT-1 Super Ostrich is found to have a crack on his left shoulder hinge at the knurled side. The right shoulder hinge at the knurled side has a faint stressmark. I decided to check tonight after reading this thread for GBP news but got panicked instead with the knurled pins revelation. I have no photos to show the damages on my unit for now... I might take a picture later or maybe not. I have lost appetite for this thing. I just want you all to know, it's a matter of time.
  3. The one that made me yell, "DIE, BUSTER!!!!!!" as I stomp on the DVD cover.
  4. I don't hate it. I just don't like it as much as Gunbuster... the fact that the bot designs are abysmal don't help any. Would help though, if I can also appreciate the character designs in DB, but... I don't.
  5. Get the SOC GUNBUSTER. Don't waste your time on Revoltech Dix Neuf unless you like Diebuster. Diebuster = Bad Story, Bad Robot Design.
  6. The 1/60 YF-19, despite the bad quality and floppiness, for me looks the most pleasing in all 3 modes. The valks that comes after except for the YF-21, namely the V.2 1/60 VF1, VF11B all look unfinished and unpleasant because of the sides of the battroid torso are hollow; something that can definitely be addressed with side parts at least. Alas, I have to contend with this ugliness for now until Yamato decides to intervene or I buy them from a member here. @ cent, my YF-19's left thigh is glued while the right one is not. But you can take the glued one apart by prying them open very gently. You simply need to wedge something in between and drive the wedge in bit by bit (patiently) until the two halves come apart.
  7. There is a screw at the end of the pivot of the wing. You just have to dismantle the thigh area at the back and tighten the screw hidden inside.
  8. I'm just glad that the market demand dictates the eventual prices for these things; not how much these makers think their stuff are ought to be worth. In that spirit, I don't mind being labeled cheap or shameless for wanting things cheaply just because I feel entitled to it but not wanting to overpay, because these companies will not consider your financial positions when they price their stuff. What I believe is, there are dues to be paid by both sides (the makers and the collectors), sometimes the collector looses out in paying more than he should due to demand or rarity or impatience, but that is few and far between and the makers don't make this money... what pleases me is most of the time, these makers are forced to markdown their prices because business is slow and they can't sustain the initial price they wanted. In the staring game between "them" and "us", it is the makers, the retailers that will blink first. Of course, they can opt not to make the things we want, but it will never happen. Some company always make what we want eventually. For the market monopoly, they won't just up and allow things to belly up or stagnate either.
  9. You need to remove the backplate to access the screws that hold the arms hidden inside.
  10. Thanks again for the explanation. I hope at least half of my broken stuff bought from HLJ can be resolved the same way like yours. I also think I need to ask HLJ about the Yamato products that are not bought from them. On one hand, through experience, HLJ charges for the parts and charges separately for shipping. And I was asked by this Oishi guy to fax my CC info and the parts' code as well as pictures despite HLJ already having my CC details and we can conduct the customer service via email... but no, he wanted it faxed. He also maintains that parts request is a separate affair and he cannot use the customer data that is already available in their database, so I dunno. I will try HLJ again, hope it works out well this time.
  11. Hey AlphaOne, good to hear that Yamato services outside of Japan. Can you detail out your Yamato customer service experience with us? Like:- 1) Did you asked HLJ and then you communicated with Yamato until you receive your yf19, or did HLJ acted as a middleman during the whole thing? 2) Shipping-wise, did Yamato pay to get back the faulty yf19 and then, pay to ship you the new yf19 or did you also have to pay your share? 3) What sort of shipping service did they use? 4) How long did the whole process took, from the moment you contacted HLJ to the day you receive your new yf19? Would like to know as I have a VF0S (Arms issue), yf19 (Same issue like yours), Army Garland (Totally loose left arm), V.2 1/60 VF1S (Cracked shoulder hinges) and Koenig Monster (Broken or stressed tabs throughout the toy) that I would like to have changed. Would appreciate the details as they would really help in simplifying things alot in terms of communication, anticipated expenses and expected time to resolve returns / exchanges, thanks!
  12. I see it too. The general silhouette and the color is why. I think the rider and the bike are okay but armor mode is ugly. I think I'll stick with mospeada.
  13. OMG you did it!!! I'm a huge fan of your Gunbuster index. I check there alot before I buy anything Gunbuster. Thanks for making it, Takaya-san!
  14. I could have fallen in love with the V2 1/60 had it not been for the thicker than necessary and hollow Battroid sides. And that... ugh, lengthier neck due to elevated collars... why Yamato??? You did the VF1 so well in 1/48.
  15. I noticed the version 2 1/60 VF1s have a more polished construction and the plastic feels a little better than the 1/48s, but that's about it. Everything else that they improved on the new 1/60 range from negligible to disappointing imo. To this day, I still have most of the 1/48s I started out with, and only one new 1/60 which is, the VF1D. The 1/48s are still king. They are worthy of keeping. With reasonable care, the 1/48s along with the old Takatoku 1/55s, will probably outlast the vers.2 1/60.
  16. Yeah, that's one of the things I like about Viper's creed.
  17. Does the VF-22S come with heat shields for the cockpit canopy? I see none on the toy itself but looking at the lineart, they seem to be in grey like the canopy frame.
  18. NO MORE UGLY ROBOTS PLEASE! I'm fine with all the vehicle modes, but the looks of all the robots from movie 1 & 2 must go.
  19. Seriously the flight armor does not really add much to the combat calibur. The mugen calibur is basically the same and it has all the other accessories that the combat calibur have minus the armor and the cannon rifle. Only thing is I wish the CM's robot mode proportions is more or less like the Fewture version. 70% off the mugen is as good as it gets, but you're not missing much if you decide not to buy it.
  20. Yeah, no need to trip over yourselves to get one, I got it and the only things good about it are the accessories, the decent metal content and the fact that it's actually well-put together. Articulation and pose-ability wise, he's a chunky piece of articulated wood; all promise and no frisson. Since I'm not familiar with the anime, I scoured the net looking for the linearts and to be honest, they make the CM's sculpt for the Dorvack look imbecilic.
  21. The special armor is redundant. The mugen itself despite its many articulation points is limited to wooden and uninspiring poses because the limbs' movements are hindered by other parts on the calibur blocking the way. It is not a bad toy, personally I like the metal contents but the retail price versus the simplicity of the mugen calibur is not worth it. If you really want the one with the armor, we should all wait for it and the green version to drop 70% also.
  22. Sorry to hear that all three of your parcels got taxed. Need to know, is it a standard procedure for the customs crooks to add the shipping amount to the merchandize? The crooks who detained my HLJ parcel did that to me no matter how I pleaded with one of them not to, because I didn't pay for EMS and end up driving 300km to and fro to get them... that they have no right to tax my shipping money. So when all is settled and paid for, out of frustration, loudly, I told the crook who was dealing with me that what his job is no different from robbery. Everyone within earshot gave disapproving looks to these crooks after hearing that.
  23. That custom Supernova yf19 is really awesome Kicker773!
  24. The "ground crew" that comes with the Destroids are rather limited. The guy signaling to the destroid is nice but we don't need the other one who's just standing around with a rifle slinged to his back. We need more 1/60 figures with poses that show them crouched down, lying on their backs while fixing or carrying something and etc.
