  1. I'm not. If I can't get it from HLJ eventually, I'll find it somewhere else at the same cost more or less. Why worry when In every staring competition with the bad economy, Yamato has always blinked. In fact, since the 1/48 TV Max, every unsold weathered valk exclusives offered in HLJ in between and now the VFX and AB, Yamato's eyes are practically spasming!
  2. Optional hands, yes. Gummy rubber, no. Because the damn thing will be tacky after some time. Give us abs or pom, and leave that pvc crap all for gashapon and girlie figures.
  3. I just want the Yammie not break so much, good god.
  4. "I have toys that go up in value overtime, but not my Yamatos."
  5. Huh, where did you get that news? It's still listed as discontinued.
  6. Aren't the replacement hinges made so that cracks would not happen? Wanna buy the VF-X and wanna cancel my preorder at the same time. Argh!
  7. Just found out from Tokyohunter's site that the Material Version DMZ Scopedog is an exclusive item offered at the Chara Hobby 2006. No mention that the backdrop was offered together though. Anyone reading this please help me to ask around, pretty please?
  8. Bump! Nobody knows how to get that backdrop piece? :-(
  9. DMZ Material Version is like the Yamato scopedogs - they're only bare plastic molded in their respective colors. Which is why I held back from buying one. It's also helluvalot expensive than the regular but well-painted DMZs. But if I have to buy a Material Version just to get that backdrop, I might do it; if it's not too expensive.
  10. Does anyone know what's that thing circled behind the DMZ Material Version Scopedog? It looks like some kind of backdrop or something. I have bought some DMZs but never come across that thing before. Does it only come with purchase of the Material Version? Any info on how to get it is appreciated. The DMZs are so cool, I wish the line didn't end so abruptly.
  11. I think Hideaki Anno was all along annoyed with the EVA weirdo fanboys (weird by Hideaki Anno's standards), he probably drew the line at endorsing gambling too and that pachinko deal (think of gambling Gunbuster weirdo fanboys) was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. Also, if one were to compare Gunbuster's merchandizing history to Evangelion's overkill on the non-canon stuff... I'd say Gunbuster is still relatively "pure and unsullied".
  12. How confident can we be with the YF-21 reissue? Cuz I know the VF11B turned out great (so did the YF-21 first issue) but then the VF11C didn't turned out so well after that... Sigh, Yamato and their Lanjiao QC.
  13. At one time the appreciated prices were crazy when all the MF Mazinkaisers disappeared from the market. Even this reissue is going for slightly more than the first issue's retail price. Hmm... fluctuation or opportunism at play here? Anyways, it's just a slight increase, and cheaper than the 1/60 GBP set. It's more worth the money and has no breakage issue. Gotta grab the chance to have it!
  14. Well, if the word is "concerned", I'm not one of you guys. I rather see a different company make the VF1 because no matter how promising Yamato markets the toys they will screw it up. Right now, I'm waiting for their price to be deeply slashed more than shoulders to be fixed... because other than get angry at Yamato, it is the wisest thing to do because Yamato can't deliver any promises. And I won't hold my breath for any Yamato VF1 V3... they'll create a cure but make new disease.
  15. A bit difficult for my copy to be photographed at the moment... as it's currently boxed away in storage. IIRC, the metal parts on this Mazinkaiser are on his shoulders, torso, thighs, lower legs and shoes. Compared to most SOC Mazingers' metal content, this Mazinkaiser only losses out at the arms as they are mostly ABS plastic. But the plastic quality is good. The overall quality imo, is slighly better than the SOC Mazingers, but only by very little. Its paint quality is excellent. I think you'd be more happy with the Maxfactory Mazinkaiser than any Fewture stuff. It's also cheaper. Also, if you're getting this Mazinkaiser, becareful with handling his shoulder sword hilt covers... it's made of plastic and there had been reports of it breaking easily. Mine is still okay though. Here's a photo for physical comparison I dug up from robojapan.com
  16. I got it the first time it was released. Highly recommended!
  17. I'm just waiting for the price to be slashed further... wanna sell a broken VF with the GBP bundle, might as well give it away for free.
  18. I can live with any shortcomings of the 1/48 than the V2 1/60. It's sturdier when you compare the two. In fact, I think Yamato made the V2 1/60 intentionally just to prove the quality of the 1/48s is higher... which is actually better despite the cheapy plastic feel of it compared to the V2 1/60's plastic.
  19. Taking these pictures... it's like we have a new past time instead of enjoying the valks properly.
  20. I saw thinner pins on my LV Roy. So let's hope this one is fine.
  21. I'm glad to hear the VE-1 is okay thanks!
  22. If you are ordering from the likes of HLJ, you can email them to ask if those units' shoulders have knurled pins or not. If the answer is not favorable to you, you can cancel the order. I think I'll practise this if I every buy anything Macross by Yamato from HLJ.
