  1. You know, you've put in only about 5 years of your life into this, I really don't see the problem in putting in a few more building the Prometheus to go with it, maybe do the main bridge as well? Maybe redo the whole thing in 1/100 scale since there's lots of valks out there in that scale now. In all seriousness though, awesome work, and I sincerely hope you make it your life's work to build the rest of the ship (the entire SFD-1).
  2. Nice Job as usual, there's a 1/24 scale Valk over in the model thread, care to tackle one of those?
  3. Hi Charliewinds,

Sorry, I just got your message...nice to meet you! I don't know many other Macross fans around town.

  4. Prolly old news, but this is cool: http://www.originalprop.com/blog/2009/08/25/twitter-arnold-schwarzenegger-tweets-about-conan-movie-prop-sword-from-the-governors-office/ BTW, the new Conan movie makes me want to cry. It should have been done entirely in CG with Arnie's likeness
  5. It would be nice to see that monster parked next to some of my 1/24 scale car models. There was a CM's toy that came out a few years ago, just the cross section of the VF-1 cockpit with either Hikaru or Roy...what scale was that?
  6. That tiny thing next to it is a 1/48??? Holy crap...
  7. Hey! I've got a Macross credit card! Had the wife appply for me years ago, came with a huge sticker. Artwork is by tenjin. I'll have to see if I can dig it up somewhere....I don't think we ever used it.
  8. I was wondering about the lower intakes on the 1/48 scale Hasegawa. I thought it was just poor fitment of the model, but that's the way it's supposed to be? Wow, I'm not sure if I like it or not like it, but you raise a lot of good points. It just looks...I dunno, like it doesn't fit right, especially when we're used to seeing it comepletely flush all these years.
  9. 10 years.....in 10 years, I predict a fan-made re-animated (or live CGI) version of SDF-Macross and DYRL, using the original sound track and voices, just new animation.....it will be epic.
  10. I think this kit takes the title of most awesome macross model ever....well, it's pretty damn close to the 1/2000 scale SDF and the Club-M 1/48....... .......Strike pack in the works?
  11. Holy crap man, that's well done. I thought it was the new Hasegawa 1/48 at first.....awesome job man, nice pictures, despite you saying you want to get a new camera.
  12. The one on the left looks way better than the one on the right. That thing on the right is hideous, even for 1/100 scale. If it were a bigger scale, there'd be no excuse, but still, pretty nasty looking, even for 1/100 scale.

    VF-1S

Hey! I have one of those! Found it in a "Hobby Off" a couple of years ago for about 200 yen.
  14. Hey man, if you can wait, then wait till a used copy comes out for half price on Amazon JP...... My plan - I'm going to have one sent to my wife's parent's home in Japan...when we go visit this summer, I'll just bring it back with me....I can wait.
  15. I can't wait to see this thing finished....holy cow man, awesome work so far.
  16. Yeah, but the Club M kit was way more detailed than that....even Yamato's toy strike parts have more detail....
  17. Oh God, say it ain't so....wait a minute, didn't they already make this movie 15 years ago and it went straight to VHS or something?
  18. A beautiful hunk of resin you mean....
  19. 1/1 scale Real Doll Milia.....
  20. WTF, Isamu is beating out Roy in popularity??? What planet am I on? Isamu's an alrite guy, but more popular that Roy? Roy's awesome dead or alive! We should rename Christmas to Roymas, hell, I'd decorate a tree and wrap presents on Roymas.
  21. Why not? If no one will do it, I suppose I can get my wife to read it to me whilst peeling grapes for me.
  22. I just watched this movie too, and it wasn't that bad. It was a lot better than some of the cross-over films. I don't know if anyone is still interested in talking abou tit, but tactics aside (It's a hollywood movie - everyone shoots from the hip), it was a decent action flick. BHD is probably one of the few movies that had realistic battle scenes, and this movie can't compare in those terems....I mean, c'mon, a hand held mini-gun? I thought the sword fight was okay. It sort a pays tribute to the original, when what's-his-nuts stays behind, drops his tac-vest and tries to have a knife fight with the predator. The sword fight scene could definitely have seen improvement(the yakuza should have been portrayed as a bit more skilled with the sword - wait for the pred to attack, rather than swinging wildly like a person who's never picked up a sword), but casting realism aside, it was cool that it was in the movie at all.
