Good catch, that does look like an NMC in Storm Attacker mode. I think there is hope yet for seeing Battle 25 in action. Though I had hope, but I think it may be limited to the final battle.

The cars are most likely replicas or reconditioned units. It is apparent by the sounds they make that they don't use internal combustion engines anymore (thank goodness).

The focus of this episode is Ozma coming to terms of Ranka growing up and becoming independant and how he is learning to let go and not be so protective, even though he will always be there for her. The whole point is he would go to death's door and back to make sure Ranka is safe. Also he didn't want her in harms way be having Frontier use her singing to fight the Vajra which is why he makes a big display of fighting them off without music (not including 'Try Again' in the background).

Would it be noticeable? I'm not sure really but how many potential Meltrans are there here?

No, pineapples alone have never been detrimental, just pineapple salad. The pineapple cake does seem to be quite healthy as it got Ranka to speak again, and Ozma was practically saved by looking forward to it. Fire Bomber of course enhanced its effects.

With modification is may be but I seriously doubt the VF-0 can fly in space as it still uses conventional turbofan engines. The best gimmick of the Reaction engines is that it makes it a whole lot easier to fly in space because the only on board fuel you need is what your heating up and ejecting out as plasma. In a conventional engines like the ones used in the VF-0 that take in air, mix it with gas and then ignite it, you'd need to be able to carry the gas/fuel, and the air/oxygen to mix it with. This is what today's rockets do, carry both and mix it and that makes them really big and really heavy.

It makes sense that Frontier is the 55th Long Distance Colonization fleet as Macross 7 was the 37th. It has been assumed that before the New Macross class there was either 30 Megaroad fleets or something between Megaroad and the NMC. I go with the former though. Point is since the difference between 25 and 7 is 18 and if you add 18 to 37 you get 55, that all makes perfect sense. If Galaxy is the 21st NMC (even though it is unlike any NMC previously shown) then supposedly that makes it the 51st Long Distance Colonization fleet, but I am just speculating.

To this I will note Ranka's first live was originally scheduled while Sheryl was to be doing a relief concert on Gallia 4. Then a whole bunch of s**t happened on Gallia 4 with the Zentradi and Ranka had to come tame them, then there was the WTF-1/Global incident and then the large scale Vajra attack on Frontier which pushed back Ranka's concert and kept Sheryl hospitalized (though I think her sickness is a result of the Witchcraft pills and will likely be a point of contention in ep.18).

BTW... I didn't remember until now to say this, but to everyone who was so sure Ozma would die: I told you so. I never believed he would die because then this show would be repeating SDF Macross way too much. I really think they did this episode well.

I know Fire Bomber isn't enka. I figured Alto was just ignorant about the music though. That makes sense but I don't get why Michael says "Rock, huh?" That doesn't sound like something you say about heroic dialogue. Besides that though it makes sense. In another subject, still formally requesting animated gif from episode 17 when Ozma takes out a red Vajra with it's own arm. Depending on how much you can get in, the most I'd like is when he first stabs it then shoots it with lasers and then throws the arm at it resulting in the explosion of which he sits heroically in front. However if only a part of that can be made because it is too big then I'd at least like the throwing arm at the Vajra and the explosion bit.

So the song wasn't actually playing in the episode (as in it was only BGM)? That would make that dialogue make more sense, I don't quite understand how what Michael and Alto saying those things is referring to what Ozma said, but if they were referring to a song he was playing that would make sense to me. Whatever translation works for me, I just am confused about what they were talking about now.

Enka? I thought that was Brother SpaceShip or something to that effect that the mall Zentran was singing. Either way Alto doesn't know much about Fire Bomber and that may reflect on his generation.

I don't know about strong. Ozma would have been a teenager most likely during the events of M7 which makes him more likely to have been a Bomba fan as it was the music of his generation, whereas Sheryl and Ranka are the music of the 2059 generation. In the scene where Ozma goes close combat with the Vajra (still waiting for a gif from there btw, killed the lobster with it's own leg) and a Fire Bomber song starts playing (I don't know exactly which one that is, I've only listened to the songs from Let Fire) I think he is actually playing the song instead of it just being background music because Michael and Alto comment on it before they start attacking with knives. What Michael and Alto say is something like: Michael: "Rock, huh?" Alto: "No, it's a Folk oldie." Of course this implied Alto and possibly other people in the 2059 generation see Fire Bomber as nothing more than a old Folk band... how sad. Don't get my wrong I don't like Basara much but the band is pretty good, at least the guy can sing. And to keep up the trend... BOMBAA!

I don't care for the redesign of the VF-19S over the original YF-19 and VF-19A (which the same as the YF with a new color). It isn't bad though, I just like the original wings more. I'd also like to see a VF-22. As much as the YF-21 is cool, I was always more partial to the VF-22.

I have a feeling that they hoped no one would notice that it wasn't the acoustic version of My Soul for You. I am not that bothered by it really, but hey if you try hard enough to reach into the series then maybe you can. However if you do you should be asking yourself, do you really want to just reach into the universe to pull out a special Fire Bomber album, or do you want to pull out one Nanase instead? I wouldn't do that but I know you would, me... I would probably go for a blue haired target instead... but only if I could grab the resizing chamber as well... and then I'd see how long is takes for MisaForever to get really jealous, . And... I guess I might as well join in... even though I still haven't really watched M7 yet, but why not. BOMBAA!

Ok, Formal request for an avatar usable gif. Can somebody make a gif of when the VF-25S killed a lobster by throwing another lobsters leg at it (cool scene). This is the part that causes the big explosion which we then see the VF-25S floating in front of heroically. If possible include the heroic pose in front of the explosion but if it makes it too big just the part where he kills the Vajra is fine. That or the heroic part with the explosion by itself would be cool. Thanks to anyone who can oblige.
