I have finally received my pretty birdies! They tried to deliver while I was at work naturally so I had to drive out to the FedEx facility to get the package (or wait until Monday, screw that, lol), but I am successful. Got them out of the box and set up in fighter with pilots and looking correct, nothing crazy yet. It is two new valks at once, so.. got to take my time to enjoy them before transformations start. They are both insanely cool looking, but the 31F is definitely drawing my eye the most, as wonderful as the Draken is. I love being all giddy at new stuff like this.

Well my package didn't arrive today... apparently they lie about estimated delivery windows... but I called and they seem convinced it should come tomorrow.

RE: VF-31F's head. I still really like it, but I know I'm in a minority (I also long the Anubis head of Keith's Draken so I must just like weird head styles) but I will admit the main thing that holds it back from being really good is the weird chin piece it has. If it was a smooth conical section, more like the Draken head even but without the dog ears, and just missing that chin I think it would get a lot less backlash (though I know many dislike the horn and the eyes, I like those however). My 31F and 262Hs should arrive today, can't wait!

All the Bandai DX Chogokin VFs have been 1/60 scale, which is likely done because Yamato/Arcadia already showed 1/60 was something of an ideal scale for VF toys previously (and they experimented up and down). That said Bandai is also finding a lot of success in the HMR line being at 1/100 scale, but I'd bet their DX Chogokin line will always be 1/60 since that has been a precedent. Meanwhile their model kits are consistently 1/72 which I assume is some standard as well.

Good! Cause you'll keep hearing it! A lot. They do eventually start mixing in other songs and by midway in the show you start to hear Planet Dance less and less... but it always comes back like their banner song (that and Totsugeki Love Heart which is actually probably the real banner song of Fire Bomber, but I <3 that song forever so it's good with me).

Messer is just practicing his beam dodging skills. Sources close to me say that did not work out well for him though. Or.. red tack.. all over the cockpit... for authenticity?

Is fiend a good thing in this context? And the intro changes after a bit. I don't remember exactly when but eventually it will alter to represent recent events in the show or basic data on character relevant to the current episode and such. I often just started skipping it though.

He used it a bit in the first episode to stop a raging Zentradi from crushing Kaname. I remember that well cause it is kind of what got me into the 31F Battroid (I actually like the head). After that..... ... Well he was in Gerwalk a few times at least.

Just got HLJ shipping notice for by Messer and Keith duo! Expecting it by end of the week. Psyched!

HLJ collected my payment, and I've already set up shipment for Draken and Seigfried and paid the shipping cost. Now we play the waiting game.

I'm waiting for HLJ (set up with PayPal to auto pay). I've heard that if it goes to PW and then I set up shipping it might take longer than immediate shipping. I suppose that is the price for combining with the Draken though.

Oh is that so? I suppose it didn't occur to me the people mentioning that issue are in other countries (I realize now my comical location info doesn't show I'm in the States, I am). If it is not as troublesome here then I won't worry about it, not that I was so much anyway.

I was mostly joking. I don't really expect to have a huge issue with two valks in one box, so I'll go ahead and do things as planned. I'm already this far into it, why change it now.

Lol, you guys are starting to make me question this whole plan. I could have had my Drakken for a month now if it isn't worth the effort to combine...

I never considered that, nor have I ever had customs issues.. but I've never combined shipments before either. I am left wondering now if it would be better to just go ahead and send the Draken out or not...

Private warehouse is basically a tool that allows you to hold orders from being shipped until a time of your choosing once they are released. If you want it shipped immediately, you can move it out of there and set it to do that (you seem to already be set up to ship immediately). PW is useful for people planning multiple orders in a short time frame (less than 60 days, which is the limit of holding items in PW) and want to ship them together to minimize costs. As an example, I am doing this with the VF-31F and the Sv-262Hs. Currently the Drakken is still in my private warehouse. I've paid for it but it has not been shipped, I chose to let it sit there for a month to wait for Messer's VF to be released so I can ship them together.

I'm more amused by it than anything, but I should probably point out that the discussion of Spanner's living property is a tiiiny bit OT. Besides, for all his talk of his land, we know he has 2 more versions in slightly different arrangements somewhere else, lol.

To be fair, almost every VF since the VF-11 had an arm shield. But this is the first that is also a stabilizer and has a fancy design.

I must be the weird one who likes these non-human-like heads such as Keith's Draken and Messer's VF have. I also like Messer's VF since it is the most utilitarian looking of the Siegfried's which are all ace customs (Shinigami emblem notwithstanding). This makes sense considering the character of course but still it feels somehow more down to Earth (no pun intended considering Messer's fate, lol). I'm not getting a 31C... mostly due to cost... one 31 and one Draken is a lot for me as it is, heh. That being said, if it is a proper magenta, it would look really nice for sure. Also, even if not as skilled, she's still a Jenius, and I am a fan of that family.

I came here less and less, barely was conscious of the Frontier movies (I didn't see either until almost a year after Wings of Goodbye was out on bluray), and kinda stopped focusing on Macross for a bit and forgot about the awesome community here. Then I read about Delta by happenstance and after the previous episode aired I was back in full, lol. Trying to stick around now despite no ongoing stuff again, having a new show so soon helps. Frankly if it weren't for here, and the facebook pages run by some people from these forums I follow now, I'd have missed the new show announcement too probably.

I'm living vicariously through all of you getting it soon, since I'm keeping mine in the PW to wait for Messer. I figure the save on shipping is for the best. I suspect these are the only Delta valks I'll get. Until the VF-31A appears to tempt me...

While I get that a lot of people would love to see Frontier characters magically take part in Delta's story line (if it indeed is continuing), no one can seriously believe that is at all possible... or even really a good idea. Cause I think it sounds terrible. Not because Delta is a worse show (though it isn't as good for sure, and don't get me wrong I love me some Sheryl), but because that is not those people's story. Their story is told, and if they ever get any follow ups... it will not be a part of Delta (big crossover events like Macross 30 are exceptions, but even then that was a standalone story as well and more focused on the original characters in that game). Really with the exception of the Jenius family Kawamori is pretty predictable about not mixing elements of the different series/OVAs/Movies. As for the idea that Freyja will not be fit for the idol role anymore if we continue with Delta, I can see that happening. Echoing an earlier sentiment, I think it would be cool to see Mirage discover a latent power since Asami Seto can sing after all (and marketing sure has gone out of it's way with the implications such as images of Mirage in a Mikumo outfit variant). That said, it wouldn't be the first time a character had a VA with singing talent who did no singing in Macross (Tomo Sakurai who voiced Mylene in Macross 7 is a singer as well, but instead Mylene's singing role was given to Chie Kajiura... who didn't really sound that similar). -
I got my HLJ payment notification and PW confirmation earlier as well. Now to do my best to wait patiently for Messer to join it before shipping.

Kawamori has stated he is not sure he can ever top Basara as a male singer (which in terms of skill sounds hard to argue with), so it is likely we'll only see female idols from now on. I also would prefer him trying it again too though even if I kind of get where he is coming from. Basara may have been an egotistical a-hole, but he was a damn good singer, you get that kind of quality when you use Yoshiki Fukuyama as his singing voice after all, lol.
