  1. What are you two talking about? A cloak is the most important gear a hunter has!
  2. For anyone that was wondering, I just want to note that Google lied. This may have been the content of the books(I make no promises, not having read them), but it darn sure isn't the content of the anime. The show is enjoyable, but smacks of being heavily abridged. Feels like important things were skipped over left and right. Standard lazy adaptation issues, really. It DOES do a good job striking a balance between "stupid people doing stupid things" and "something needs to actually HAPPEN this episode". Except episode 6. That's a giant conga line of ridiculous nonsense from start to finish. It is not exactly what I'd call must-watch programming, but... there's far worse ways to kill some time. That concludes this pocket review.
  3. It was an awesome gimmick. This is not canon. Wheeljack being wise, I mean. The face is TOTALLY canon... now. ... Why did they give Wheeljack a face? ... Screw it. Personal canon says this release isn't Wheeljack, it's Alpha Trion in a Halloween costume.
  4. Except that Darkwing Duck is better than either one of those.
  5. Maybe it has the power to make a fsck happen, even in circumstances where it was otherwise impossible? If that's the case, it's soon to be the best-selling record of all time.
  6. According to Google, it's apparently about a war with corporate terrorists over control of the trains. Which is absurd enough to make me want to watch the thing on it's own.
  7. As a fighter, I'd like Spacebrick a lot more if the Beta wasn't so awkwardly proportioned, with it's squared-off front and tiny vestigial wings. It's a stark contrast to the Alpha, which forms a relatively competent airplane. This post hopefully marks the first and last time "the Alpha is a competent airplane" will ever be said here on MacrossWorld.
  8. And if they'd had the chance to do a proper opening(which was done to a degree in the PS1/Saturn video game), people could get the same "Oh, crap, that's the Daedalus" response that Hikaru and Misa get upon finding it's wreckage. It assumes you've already watched the TV series. And to be fair, that was a pretty safe assumption for it's release, but it's not a movie you can just sit down and take in as it is.
  9. I... I was being sarcastic. I've been largely derisive the idea that St**lth is a Mac+ ripoff since the first trailer hit and the whole kerfuffle started, as the argument seems to be solely "there are two jetfighters and a crazy robot! This is TOTALLY Mac+!" Clearly with such ironclad logic, any similarities St**lth shares with other media is damning evidence that other media ALSO ripped off Macross, right? More evidence: The robot has a single glowing red eye, just like Sharon Apple.
  10. I liked Van Helsing, honestly. I admit it was ridiculously stupid all around, though. Or at least borrow more than the name next time.
  11. True. At least there's not an entire robot hang-gliding on the underside of Star Saber. *glares at Revenge of the Fallen Jetfire*
  12. That was my main complaint with the first live-action film. I went to see a dumb movie about robots blowing shiznit up and got an awkward teenage coming of age story with balls of shrapnel flying across the screen occasionally.
  13. That's gonna be the subtitle for the next bad movie thread. "Worst sci-fi movie thread III: Still better than Twilight."
  14. Right. I think I'mma stay out of the Crucible for a while. I was instrumental to the opposing team's victory just now. That's a special kinda incompetent. I'm basically just ruining everyone else's fun, since there's no free-for-all mode available to me at present. I was also terrible there, but I wasn't taking anyone else out with me. Shame I can live with. The knowledge that I am actively ruining someone else's game, though? If you are playing Destiny on PS3 and were randomly teamed up with me just now... I can but apologize.
  15. I use my mind cannon all the time.
  16. Indeed. Fortunately, I've never said the Takatoku Valk was perfect, or even that the VF-1 was.It IS worth noting that the VF-1 turrethead is most annoying in the 1S variant, where it looks most like a head.
  17. Kirishima is best bear boat. Not criticizing, per se. Just saying her and Hyuuga's silly parts are what I EXPECTED of the whole show, and I was pleasantly surprised it had more to offer.
  18. The two are not mutually exclusive. In fact, in robot design, they are often synonymous.
  19. Sure isn't me. I've not even ditched all my green gear yet, much less the blues.
  20. That's the general response to that one. It has no business being anything other than a stupid production about girls that are also boats and the men who captain them, but there's a stubborn refusal to give in and take the easy route, Takao's shenanigans notwithstanding. I just rewatched the show recently, and it's surprisingly solid. Even once the anime breaks completely free of the manga and starts making things up as it goes along, it stays classy. In conclusion... CARNIVAL DAYO!
  21. That shot of Hikaru's stunt plane flying alongside the lions has set my mind spinning as I try to figure out how it's going to attach to Voltron to power him up. That thought alone is reason enough to do a sequel.
  22. I just thought I'd note that I REALLY appreciate how the game, on booting, goes straight to the Bungie logo and then the title screen instead of throwing up thirty minutes of copyright notices, legal disclaimers, and license announcements first. It's greatly appreciated, Bungie. And that I find it very easy to get outside of a map in the process of just trying to explore. I'm actually a bit nervous about rummaging around in the corners after falling off the edges a few times. And jumping off to a ledge four feet below and dying in one case. So yeah... fun game, but the map boundaries need some work.
