  1. I watched the BD episodes 24-25 briefly and there are some differences: 24: 25: All in all I think the "final cut" of Episode 25 is much more enjoyable than the broadcast version. Back at the time 25 was the best episode of the series, now it's even better (astonishing picture quality).
  2. You don't know what "worst sci-fi movie ever" really means until you see this: The man who saves the world (Turkish Star Wars) If you want more info, it's an interesting read Wiki trivia on the movie
  3. Well, this may be explained by bringing into the picture a cheap scriptwriter
  4. I was hoping for a Macross 7 shot after 11 was shown...
  5. But that makes sense. after 2012, VF1 was upgraded (see hands, new cockpit) and the Zentradi, as seen in frontier, have different uniforms and probably mechas. By 2030 they used the upgraded mechas to shoot the movie because that's what they had at the time. It's as simple as that! I guess we have to wait for issue 21+ to find out how they are going to address the discrepancy.
  6. Yep, but I must confess that in-hand it bothers me much, much less than I expected.
  7. Ahh... I've just bought my first 1/60 v2 VF1S and I'm happy? Could this count as Macross niuzz? Pergahps... Oh, forget it. I give up!
  8. Yes, please, move this tits&ass discussion to a dedicated thread. Please.
  9. Ahhh, I may sound rude, but could you please take this fascinating Klan nipple and japanese porn conversation to a specific thread instead of jamming the news one?
  10. Now that I finally own a 1/60 v2 I can speak with first hand knowledge. 1/60s are not an evolution of the 1/48, but a different take. By improving some things (fighter mode is simply perfect), they had to worsen others (enormous gap between head and backpack and from chest plate to backplate, tiny shoulders, pilot seems too forward and, most notably, the neck - even if I have to admit that in person it doesn't bother me as much as I thought, especially since you can adjust the chest plate). 1/60s have tampo prints, but much less detailed surface textures. But most of all, the 1/60 are so small compared to 1/48s! For many of you this is a plus, for me it's what makes them beautiful but not awesome. Just compare a Super Gerwalk or Fighter mode in both scales and you'll see the difference. And as for 1/60s being in scale with other yamato valks, I'm not so sure: if we compare the pilots, they are absolutely not in scale with VF0s (whose pilots are nearly as big as 1/48 ones) nor YF19 Isamu. They seem, ironically, to be in scale with 1/60 VF25 from bandai and the old VF19 Kay and VF17, also from bandai. Or at least, I pose them together in fighter mode and they look good together. So, to sum up, the 1/60v2 is really good, but it doesn't steal the crown of "King of awesomeness" from the 1/48.
  11. If Kawamori had the guts, the real love triangle would have been Bobby-Ozma-Cathy
  12. No mention of "great storytelling/plot". Is it intentional or ... By the way, back on topic: my best anime ever is "Conan, Boy of the future"
  13. While I did enjoy the show, I don't think it deserves more than a 6 (and only because there are Valkyrie and, YES, Fire Bomber music in some episodes!). The aliens were "meh", too much plotholes and interesting ideas/characters undeveloped, huge amounts of fanservice, Klan and, most of alla Ranka did somehow ruin it for me. Maybe part of the "ruin it" thing is that this is the first Macross show I got the chance to see "as it happenes", so waiting a week after each episode raised my expectations maybe a bit too high for what was coming next. There were great episodes (1,2, 4, 10, 17 and 25), but that's it. Add to this that I hink Kanno did a subpar work on frontier (compared to her past masterpiece, I mean) and you know why I raise my hand. Wait, I hear someone knocking at my door. Graham? What are you and your friends doing here... [the message ends abruptly]
  14. Well, you must think that Leon is a quite remarkable villain: 1) he dated the ex-girlfriend of the series' coolest pilot 2) managed to become president of Frontier (without angering the people or making them suspect he acted a coup) 3) he wears quite nice casual outfits 4) is smarter than anyone on board Frontier 4) he did not get killed by the good guys.
  15. To be honest, I just wish the covers and main mecha art pieces were done by The Man himself
  16. Funny, I like his Chronicles illustrations much more than the ones done for his Valkyrie artbook (I'm an illustrator, too).
  17. The real question is: who's to blame for Brera's "casual" suit?
  18. Thanks! I must start getting copies of this comic (I already appreciated the VF1J in vol.1) ... this makes me wonder. Generally speaking, comic adaptations like this are generally done (at least in the beginning) with the original script for the shows, and that explains the little discrepancies. So, maybe this narration includes scenes intended for the TV series that, due to time constraints or directorial decisions, haven't been animated.
  19. Now I'm curious: Global vs Galaxy or Frontier or Quarter??? How could that happen?
  20. Man, the shoulders on these 1/60 v.2 are way too small!
