  1. I got my release of SS86 Sludge, yeah those toes really sit to low which is a bummer, all because the gun sits in his belly. So maybe I'll get those foot upgrades at some point. Also not a fan of how his back wings just pop up so dang easily....sort of drives me nuts. I did come across those Velicitron figures from Walmart this morning and I just couldn't get the urge to pick up any of them, I really just want Cosmos and Goldbug, that's namely it.
  2. Sure, I mean think of it like the golden days of model building, find other kits, cut up the pieces, add your greeblies and all that goodness to really impact the model. Or yeah you could take the existing model and you can add more details. Like I said, the bridge section of the model is far to blocky. It works for smaller scale, but what I'm doing it's not good at all. The base of the bridge that arches down should be much thinner almost meeting flush with the two detailed sections at the forward position. There should be more details like raised and recessed portions, but that should be all over the model in general. More so I think the wing section around the body is wrong. If I'm looking at the lineart correctly you can see in the forward facing view that the city I think expands out to the wing section so that should be hollow and needing window panels as well, probably sticking further out as well. Not sure by what you mean saying scale logically.
  3. Cleaning these parts have been a nightmare for me. I've received a few good sized booboo's from my tools cause it's so hot and I get frustrated and next thing I know I'm needing a bandaid lol. Got a little scale thing for you guys of the 1/3000 upscale I did with a 1/72 Kitz Concept VF-1J, so yeah this thing is massive. I still need to print the bridge and the city scape which is happening right now....things have been really tough for me the last 2 weeks just lots going on so I haven't been able to finish the prints on this as fast as I had initially thought. But in truth I wish this model was broken down a bit more for easier printing as I've gotten a lot of lost details because they need supports to work. That's resulted in some areas not being as flush or nice looking as I"d want, and some areas like along the forward section of the ship have broken and I'll need to clean up and glue back together. That stuff I'm not going to do though until I have the majority of the ship ready. Truthfully I think in a small scale like 1/8000 and the likes, it's gonna be super cool. But for 1/3000 like what I'm doing, there's not enough details like recessed panels, antenna's, the bridge is to blocky and plain to look at etc etc. But hey, I'm not a quitter so I'm gonna keep working away at this and make it work.
  4. Well mine came in, and the left hand was so tight that when I tried to wiggle the thumb just a hair to get better clearance to tuck the wrist inside the forearm, the thumb snapped right off. Got some gaping between the fuselage and main body when in fighter mode cause it won't sit anymore flush than where it sits, and everything on it in general is just SUPER SUPER SUUUPPPPPPEEEERRRR TIGHT right down to the wings. Sheesh....I'm worried I'm gonna break this thing even worse than just the thumb.
  5. Wait there was a Comache dub? I was just thinking, "Damn if you want some authenticity with this kind of movie, you need to have all these native american's speak in whatever language their people represent!" I didn't expect that to happen, so that's pretty cool! I liked it, I REALLY REALLY liked it and I didn't expect that. I was even cheering in that final battle and I normally don't do that unless something really stinking different happens and I don't wanna spoil that, but what I didn't expect to happen, happened.
  6. Really surprised that the RT score on this thing thus far is at 91-92% which is shocking as the original sits at 80%, and I still like that film, Predator 2 the worst of the franchise apparently at 30% which doesn't surprise me at all, it's not a good film at all and was from a time in the 90's where doing a scifi monster film were to be cheap and fast, Predators 65%, it never really interested me, I felt it was a boring film truthfully. and finally The Predator at 33% which for me was the worst film that made absolutely zero sense and felt like it was just done so it could be done. So I'm really curious on watching this movie now and how for me it stacks up.
  7. I don't see any problem with the reguild pods, I think those'll be kinda fun to have one or two of. My worry for the officer pod will be that it's so front top heavy it'll just drop like in those photos. Mostly why I hate my AT-ST and ED209 figures....they just flop. Think I got 1 more week maybe even less before the VF-1J shows up.
  8. I got the main body done on my 1/3000 variant. Def some things I should of done differently on slicer that's made me lose some details at the engine area and a lot of supports failed resulting in bad formations on the side parts. But it's not a total loss or anything like that. Just means it'll be a lot harder to make it work, I'm probably also due to do some maintenance to tighten things up. I'm gonna think for a while if I want to continue or reprint again at a slower speed.
  9. She's Thicc.....what? Don't look at me like that, we're all thinking it I just have the ball bearings to say it openly!
  10. Okay so I picked one up, these are not bad looking at all. I got Alto's VF-25F, yep you totally need glue on this! The parts are on decent looking runners, they're easy to snap off with nippers, the canopy is broken into 3 pieces for easy taping and painting of the frame, but you'll need to I think glue them as well. But the joining parts are right where the black needs to be applied if you paint it. The only area right now I'm noticing where there will be an obvious seamline is at the nose itself, but it'll be easy to apply a thin layer of cement glue and sand that down. There is a fair amount of stickers, they're not bad looking at all, probably a little thicker than the ones Bandai uses on their Macross kits. There's even a set of stickers for the shoulder pads to the EX-Gear, that's encouraging cause I was thinking of just painting it....still might, haven't fully decided yet.Decent amount of HUD display images from just white, Ranka, Ozma pop ups, Ready and Startup, and data readings. Think this'll be kinda fun, might start working on it this weekend or when the weather gets cooler, I'm not sure yet. But for the size of this thing and what you get, I do feel like I paid a little to much on Amazon and if I do another in the future I'll just stick with HLJ for literally half the price.
  11. Looks like Senovis already got the new version 2 uploaded and I'm no longer detecting errors. I'm gonna give this a shot since I'm not picking up any errors at this time. I did a little math with help from a scale calculator so if anyone else wants to follow along with the same idea, I'll be basing this on the old Yamato 1/3000 SDF-1 to match the original Macross. According to my math the model at 1/3000 scale should be 590mm in length, so gotta upscale it to 132.45%, that's easy. I'll post some progress pictures if everything turns out well by the end of the week.
  12. I heard that Max Factory was doing a VF-1S battroid, but I didn't hear anything about release dates or anything. I actually just got in one of those VF-25 nose models, I actually kind of like it. It's gonna need love and attention to look cool, but I thought it was nice. It at least has stickers for the shoulder armor on the EX-Gear, so that's not a bad thing at all!
  13. aw that's unfortunate, screws the "current" batfleck series up quite a bit as well don't it?
  14. I've only bought like one set of any upgrades and t hat was for my G2 Megatron. I wanted to get more but the cost of those things are just to much for what I honestly feel you get. But then I stumbled on a website that lets you print those exact files and one of them I got was the feet for Ironhide and ratchet. I made mine using my Elegoo Mars, airbrushed them and gave them a light clear coat. The only regret was the shade of Red I used for Ironhide, some reason it looked good before clear coating now it's several shades darker. Probably the same issue the people selling them are having. Still, new feet and wheels on these guys really helps a ton. I was also able to get files to make my own Eject and Rewind, Rumble and Frenzy that'll work with Soundwave and blaster. So for now, I feel pretty content with my collection thus far.
  15. gonna be honest, with PLAMAX discontinuing their 1/20 scale kits, I'd be very interested in building one of these for myself.
  16. I figured out what the problem was, so I take back what I had said about the scaling. It was entirely Cura's fault. With that being said there does seem to be issues in getting it to work properly, This is coming from the solid variation full model that you uploaded. This could lead to a total print failure I believe.
  17. So I made a compromise...I decided to give Kitz Concept a chance, and I also picked up a KO 1/60 on Aliexpress for a pretty good price. I had enough in savings to kind of just do that and spoil myself a little bit. I ordered from Kitz just the brownie VF-1J, and the KO 1/60 is Hikaru's VF-1S movie edition with the FAST Packs. See what happens from there. Either I'll like Kitz or I'll not. We'll see in a few weeks!
  18. I mean a two pack that's a repaint of Kup and Scourge isn't a surprise, plus it comes with Vector Sigma....so I guess I'm okay with that. Pointblank, I mean, eh, I'll either get him or pass. Inferno will be a must have, course I'm collecting the Stunticons so that's a must, Skullgrin....I feel a bit disappointed, I don't know, either I'll get him or I'll pass, I wanna see more images of him in particular before I make a decision. I already got his Titan's Return little guy so to me it doesn't really matter I suppose.
  19. I mean if it's a Hulu exclusive, and I'm already signed up for the service, it's not a big deal to watch it and check it out....it's either gonna be okay, or just really stupid. I highly doubt it's gonna be as awesome as what I remember with the first two films.
  20. I’ve been seeing those KOs popping up on eBay. Sorta sounds hit or miss in those as well. I remember my old Yamato V2 1/60s had problems with the shoulder hinges cracking over time. Hopefully that’s been fixed. I haven’t bought a Yamato/Arcadia product since 2011. so this brings me to another question, are these KC toys shipping from china then? It’s not some warehouse in the states?
  21. So lemme ask here.......cause these VF-1's are all I can afford. There's no way with how hot and impossible the Bandai DX stuff is that I'll ever get to owning one let alone affording them. Are these Kitz Concept VF-1's really all that bad? I mean those are some glaring and awful QC Issues here.
  22. So I just watched the origins version of Episode 15, and honestly thought it was pretty boring. It was cool seeing some of the GM Color schemes out there. Pretty much was about it.
  23. Good question, and the answer is no, infact if anything, it'll probably get worse. If any sort of buyer takes over chances are they'll wanna cut corners to make more money in any way they can using cheaper materials and paint while upping prices and maybe even doing exclusives. That's sort of one of many things that did TRU in and one of the biggest, inflation costs causing them to raise prices and attempting to land exclusive deals for certain toy lines only to be scalped and charged 3-5x's the price online.
  24. Bankruptcy is kind of a loose thing, there are a ton of different styles out there and doesn't really mean they're going to go out of business. Really it just means they're going to perform some kind of a stunt that gets them assistance in funding probably.
