  1. There's a noticeable difference, but it all depends on your viewing set up (display, viewing distance etc), the 720p rips look softer in comparison to the 1080p ones, Frontier benefits from the amount of CG work used, which can really be apreciated better at higher resolutions, if the show was mainly 2D I would probably stick with the 720p rips, but for me 1080p was worth it.
  2. The karaoke subs are hardcoded to the THORA rips, I figured out by messing around with the files a few months back, so those can't be removed.
  3. Here you go: http://rapidshare.com/files/267875660/Macr...RAsubs.rar.html These are the THORA subs ripped from their 720p release.
  4. Dissapointed meh at least Brera's new outfit suits him better.
  5. Thanks for that, exactly what I wanted to hear How does the new stuff look? is it a clear step up from the TV series? on par?
  6. Yeah, I wouldnt mind that at all, but from the clips shown, doesnt look like it's being mastered in 35mm, like DYRL was, but then again the clip was pretty mediocre quality, I hope I'm wrong.
  7. So, I dont check the forums for a couple of days and all hell breaks loose. Either way, what I've seen pisses the s41t out of me, if we're not bring trolled, and this is actually what we're going to get, the movie's going to be nothing but a glorified 2 hour episode, even the new bits of animation shown look what the TV show looked like at it's best, which it'd be great, except, it's not a TV show episode, it's supossed to be a movie. The hand drawn stuff out of the new EVA movies craps all over this, dissapointing to say the least.
  8. I started hardcoding my own PS3 compatible MP4's using ASS subtitles from fansubbers, but I didnt know that they hardcode the karaoke animations, so I'm stuck since I'm using higher resolution video rips, I was wondering if these files are available anywhere for download, I googled around but found nothing, it's not a big deal, but I'd like to check before I starte re-encoding the files, Thanks in advance.
  9. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-...lanned-for-fall http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-...f-1-macross-toy oops, already posted here: http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/0222...to_1_2000_sdf_1 I never check the toy threads
  10. +1 On a side note, I'm hoping they go all out on the movie, on a perfect world, they'd bring back itano to choreograph this.
  11. Great news! thanks for sharing. I'm sure it could have been doing just as well in America if released, too bad
  12. +1 That's pretty weak IMO, you would think that after all the attention Macross has been geting lately that they would at least do something along the lines of the EVA movies, since the Macross F is going to be only one.
  13. The difference is clear is some, while more suble in others. Not at all, some characters have been completely redrawn, pay close attention to the images from EP12, the difference is night and day.
  14. Macross Frontier gets a full page review at aintitcoolnews: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/38601 MF has gotten mentioned here and there on their anime column before, but not to the extent I liked, this time though, it gets a full entry all for itself.
  15. 3.0% isnt low at all, I'm going by memory here, but at 3% it should be the highest rated episode of the whole series, if I'm not mistaken, the stolen panty episode was one of the highest rated earlier on, and that was somewhere in the high 2's (%)
  16. I was wondering the same thing, I have high hopes for the finale's ratings, I hope I'm right.
  17. The same can be said about the Max and Miria fight, since it was consistent in itself, but it is still bad animation.
  18. umm, I didnt know anythng about that anime until you mentioned it, looks pretty awesome IMO, saw some videos and thought the animation and choreography looked really good, checked the staff, lo and behold, Ichiro Itano's the director, ohh yeah, Itano Circus fix, I'm definetly gonna watch this.

  20. I mentioned this way back when frontier got announced, it'd make a lot of sense
  21. That's the idea, I'm excited as much as the next guy, what worries me though is the time frame of release, if the rumored december release is true, it means we're only 2 months away, that's nowhere near enough time to pull off the production of a high profile feature film, even if they were on pre-production (or even production) simultaneously with the TV series, unless they are planning to reuse stock footage from Frontier. I would rather have them take their time. I still have a lot of questions, I really don't know to what type of production I should be comparing this movie to, would this be a made for TV movie, or is it a wide release? I wonder what type of budget we're talking here. I never saw Aquarion, let alone the movie, but I have seen a lot of coverage for the NGE movie(s), and Sky Crawlers, which could be considered high profile, would the Frontier movie be comparable to the Aquarion movie, or NGE and Sky Crawlers?
