I'd like to see a fix for the 19 myself, but I'm not gonna turn this into a battyfest over a couple QC problems from a toy. You'd think some were reliving a childhood trauma by the way they hold on to such trivial things in life. As for the Fold Booster, the fast packs and the second seat attachment make it a very nice addition, and I'm definitely glad to at leat see those. And what's with the fetish with "foldildos"??? Is that what some are hoping for? Don't get it.

Well, some people have the shoulders and desire to have a committed relationship, others don't. As for my relationship being about getting tail and handing over house keys and all that, that's your false assumption and a bad generalization. I've never been miserable in my relationship, and I've never compromised my manhood for some tail. Like I said, I've been around the block quite a few times, and I definitely know what the score is. As far as finding a girl who isn't batty 95% of the time, well, we are creatures of habit. Even I found myself catching the same type of girl over and over, even when I couldn't stand the attitude. If you bump into a wall, how many times do you keep trying to bump into that wall before you realize that there's no door there? It's the same way with girls. If what you are pulling in are self-centered, money vampires only concerned about the latest Prada shoes, every man should grow a pair, take a look at himself, and fix his habitual stumbling block if they are in that rut of "not being able to find the right girl". Upon doing that, you can easily weed out the money tramps from the women who will really stick by you like white on rice. It's garbage in, garbage out. Never settle for less than 100% of what you want, and if the single life is for you, then there's no need for any of it. Just live your life as you do, and don't complain about the women you hook up with. That's for all us guys.

We may end up buying them, but on new flood of Mospeada, Toynami did put out their Legioss at a better time. I'm actually kinda shocked that Toynami so far, has a better looking toy. Even Toynami's prototype pics looked better. I do hope CMs looks at boards to gauge potential consumer interest. As for the link-up, it's dookie. I'm not reading into it too much, but I do hope they get someone who can actually link it up porperly next time.

Maybe you've beened burned or not. I think it may have to do more with the women you are trying to attract or do attract. I've been in that game far long enough, and have been with enough women to know that some of them are just like how poonman describes them. I know my ex was like that, and she was nothing but an endless fill of spending, complaining, manipulation, and greed. For some reason, it was just the type of women I went out with. Hot girls, who were more about their hair and nails than any substance, always trying to keep up with their friends. I remember hearing a conversation between 4 like minded girls who were having a discussion on what their "men" got them. One girl was talking about a Range Rover her man got her, and the others went down the list of jewelry. Then one of them went on about how her man didn't get her all that, and one of the girls said something to the fact that he needs to "put out" or she needed to get out. Sometimes you get what you pay for, and that's how it is. Some women act in the way of supply and demand. If they think they are in high demand, and are high and mighty, they get that attitude that they can get what they want. In those cases, they need to be shown just how much a guy really needs them. Sucks how that attitude is so contagious amongst the American woman. And life is too short to slave over a girl who is on her second car, and wants only the finest things in life. That kinda B isn't worth any guy's time, no matter how much of a hot piece of @$$ she may be. With those girls, they probably want to be treated the Lykus style. For that, go for it. LOL
-
I like what was just shown, especially the last design, with the 2nd and 3rd to last color. I'd be more than happy to sport that shirt around. I think a red would stand out too much, and it wouldn't show the pic too well. Nick, you have a good eye for blending the colors with the background, a good representation of a Zent pod.

LOL, The Tom Lykus stuff works if you don't want a relationship. I hear that show just about everyday, and it's mostly over the top B.S. for "pussyfied" guys. Sometimes the only way to get through to people is to shock them into doing something. I'll tell you what though, my fiance and I have our own spaces. I have my office and my place for my stuff, and she has hers. There will be no changing of my space, unless I want to, and as such, her space I don't bother with. All the other neutral areas are not "bachelor" style, but they aren't "girlie pink" either. What's even better is that some of my collection, my fiance bought for me, so she knows the money that's spent on it. I'm choosing to be more selective of my buying because I have more bills to pay and a wedding to plan for. Nothing wrong with that. Not everything in a relationship has to be a battle, that a couple here seem to want to portray.
-
So far, that's what I've said, just without the harshness and namecalling. But it's true. Take your stand, and keep your collection where it is. The idea of her having you wrapped around her finger is more along the line of what she may be thinking, subconsciously. It may not be true, may be totally opposite, but to her, she "feels" like she wants that to change about you. And since I would deduct that it has to do with her decor styles and/or your in-laws, take a stronger stand. You buy that stuff with your hard earned cash, like how she may buy shoes, or clothes, or house decor. Guys and their toys (actual toys, cars, motorcycles, models, comics, etc.) belong to a guy. As a real estate agent, you learn two very important things. The first thing women look at when buying a home is the kitchen. The first thing men look at is the back yard and the garage. Why??? Because men want places for their hobbies. That time a man gets to work or to indulge in hobbies is a man's solice. Unfortunately, many women nowadays try to conform women to what their solice is, shopping, and pretty kitchens. Establish your domain now, before it's too late. Don't cave in on your space, and if you can do that now, you won't have to cave in later on other things, which will be the next step, trust me, been there, done that. My fiance now is great, she likes my collection, lets me have that space, and gives me all the time I need to be a guy. In turn, it makes me want to be around her, respect her, and she respects me for what I have established and what I do. It's a two way street on that when it works right.
-
Dude, this is the trap. It usually happens when a girl feels she has you wrapped around her finger. Not that it's your case, but it tends to happen. My advice, gently stand your ground, and if it's not a problem displaying your collection (actual space), then hold your ground. A girl will not leave you because you want to display your stuff. My ex tried to do the same thing, and it just made the relationship miserable. there were other issues, but that mentality of trying to get me to change made me want to spend less time with her. Stand your ground, and just tell her that it'll make you appreciate her more, and find a place to concede for her. It's about give and take, and equal give and take are good things to work on.

I like that blue and brown one, preferably the brown. But, I love the freakin' design of it. Looks good. I'll be wearing that in style with my Von Dutch hat, Guess Jeans, and my Kenneth Cole shoes. That's hot!!! (I'm joking, obviously) AWESOME SHIRT, I want two.

I say do what you want to do. If that's your desire, you don't need to go by anyone's opinion. If you have a story to tell, that's cool. It's a good thing to see fan works in anything related to Macross. At least people are doing it. It's what keeps this ball rolling

Man, I've hardly had time to view these boards, but it looks great. I like the hinge lock idea. No plastic pieces to get slowly stress marked and filed down, no hard locking plastic to worry about breakage. That looks good. Oh yeah, I'ma lookin, and I'ma likin!!!!

No way dude, that guy is doing the electric slide, showing he's got the goods to battle Voltron, "You got Served!!!"

Well, In all my opinions about the VF series, I cannot comment on this. I own 1 1/60 Roy, and ZERO (0) 1/48s. Although I've held them. Somehow, although everyone here is thinking "why the hell is this debate back", we are on what page of this discussion? As for sturdiness and the debate of Die cast vs. plastic, materials aren't used in most cases just as extra pieces, materials are picked for their properties and functionality in that part. Although some bad choices from Yamato, overall, they use good plastic, and with the use of better plastics as they go, maybe they will someday get the right parts made in diecast, rigth parts made in various plastics, and this argument will be a waste of time. Heavier does not equal sturdier Lighter does not equal cheaper die cast does not always necessarily mean paint chipping and Plastic does not always mean stress marks and breakage. Now, back to the original post, sorry you didn't like the 1/48, I didn't get them because I'm a completist, and if I get one, I'm gonna want them all, like Pokemon (j/k) I just want to save my wallet from that quest. But if you don't like it, at least you have one that you can keep forever and look at. You don't have to worry about buying more. It's the great thing about being in a free economy society.

Macross 25th Anniversary! New TV series coming!
Jasonc replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Another idea could be like what gundam did with the 08th M.S. team. Where it stays in a pre-constructed story arc, but delves into other aspects of that timeline. Perhaps the Destroids of the first war, or an offshoot of that, portraying ground warfare. Then again, it would be strange to call it Macross. On the discussion of what Kawamori may/maynot do, perhaps it's just going to be like Eureka Seven, and have Valkyries or Destroids with Air boards that they fly on. Whatever it is, I still miss the high quality old drawn on cell anime. I hope they can portray that in this series, or at least make the CG look like that. -
Macross 25th Anniversary! New TV series coming!
Jasonc replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Oh, that could mean just about anything. Maybe mostly new stuff, maybe some VF-5000s, VF-9, VF-4, modified old stuff made new, or just fresh off the sketch pad. Question is, when do we start seeing screenshots and concept art? -
Damn!!! Scratchbuilding at it's finest! Very nice work indeed. I gotta get my lazy @$$ up and start building more stuff.

MacrossWorld Con 2007 Event Sign Up Thread!!!
Jasonc replied to KiriK's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
I need to pay you for the poker tourney, but for the custom contest, do we need to sign up or just bring the customs? I think I'll have one or two to bring that are new. for the game contest, I think the only game that would be fitting this con is Battlecry. If so, I'll be up for that competition. -
If I could speak spanish, I'd so be involved with my original paint schemed VF-1

The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0
Jasonc replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It is very expensive. I got my Gunbuster set from Best Buy for only $20!!! Perhaps waiting a month or so will produce lower prices??? What's funny, is that I'm just getting to this thread, and I have the OST in my car now. It's the one that has like 99 tracks on it with talking, along with the songs and soundtrack music. Man, They just don't make anime like they used to. -
I never brought the two together until you mentioned the cyclone here: And Jenius understood what I was talking about. In reference to the issue of putting the CMs Corp. Legioss and Tread is what I meant by Toynami not really doing too much. And, in regards to the second wave of Toynami 1/100s, i.e. the fastpacks, they were shown at AX 2006, which is approaching a year ago, 9 months to be exact. Without going into simantics and precise dating, the point is, is that although Toynami was busy last year producing Macross stuff (which is fine and good) The Beta, under the Robotech name, and the alphas, simply missing. HG, as it has dealings with Yamato, which also could mean it's sister co. CMs, probably may share interest in the Legioss/Tread kit, as there have been no product under the Robotech name for sometime. If not, this is probably going to spur Toynami to produce more toys so that HG need not look outside for more product to sell under the Robotech name. Just a guess.

If you do plan to make resin copies, I'll definitely buy one. This is a very accurate sculpt from what you are perceiving cody chan. For copies, what you should do is get an interest number of people who want a resin kit of it. then those that want it, have a prepay when it's ready to be produced. The money you bring in will then fund you materials cost and then some, for this project. BTW, very beautiful sculpt.

Man, I must say, it is pretty Fugly. If I was that Valkyrie pilot in charge of that POS, I'd ask for a transfer. The paint scheme makes it look snub nosed, and much thinner than it is. That paint scheme has a really bad illusion of size and design that makes it look like a knock-off. The YF-19 looks "OK", but just that. Nothing to wow over. I'm not getting these unless I see a 19 on sale for $70 or less... maybe.

Ahh, the good ol' days... mine was a Transformers Jetfire G1, that I still have. I remember getting that on a Christmas morning, and that being the only toy I played with that day. I think I was about 10, going on 11. It was only a few months later that I got a Takatoku Hikaru, then the Roy Fokker 1S. But it was that Jetfire that started me on my way to a somewhat large collection now.

For thinning, what MechTech suggests is purfect, especially for acrylic. consistency of milk is the way to go for that stuff when mixed with paint, which equates to like a 1:20 ratio on some paint. My experience, pour a glass of cold milk into a glass and drink it while mixing your paint. It puts it all into perspective. Just don't accidentally drink your paint. For paint removal, my favorite is pine sol. I was introduced to it as a paint remover, and although it takes time to take off paint, I have had no bad reactions to the plastic from it. I buy the large commercial bottles, and mop my floors while taking off paint and tampo printing from my valks.

Toynami news on their Beta and 1/100 Fast Packs
Jasonc replied to protostar8's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, this is a sore subject. Basically, it just means that anything is possible... they may, or may not make the Beta. Right now, it's just a marketing gimmick to get people to buy more of the problematic Alphas. It's tough getting a good apple out of the rotten tree.
