I don't think it's all that wierd. Some people who will get it are just completist for their Macross collections, and there's nothing wrong with that. I already showed my wife, and she thought it was cute enough to want (strange how she's more of a Misa fan). Anyways, When is this thing slated to come out?

I highly doubt this has anything to do with pre-orders, especially since they don't even have the product, and none of your money has been taken. Is it false advertising? Yes, but the question any court would ask is if the advertisement in question was intentional or not. Was the error corrected? Also, the fact that both sites have given fair and reasonable time for us as consumers to change our orders, there's no harm, no foul. I was figuring it would be adjusted, while at the same time, hoping that the $80 price tag would hold. And to anser Roger's question, I still think $150 should be the max they should charge. And by that, I mean MAX. $150 for the Voltron was fine, but for this toy that won't be nearly as complex, I'd be a little hard to take one for that amount. I can wait to find them cheaper. $125 or less is good. Now, is a difference of $25 gonna break my wallet, no, but when I pay that amount for what I get from a foreign company like Yamato, even after shipping and all, then from what the domestic, Toynami, it doesn't make sense to me.

About 2 years ago, I had written in a thread (here, or on rt.com) that the Beta toy shouldn't cost more than $150. Reasoning was due to the size, materials, and demand. It was in a remark Tommy Yune had made that if Toynami made this toy, it was going to cost about $200. For a domestic toy company to charge that much is ridiculous first off. However, I did make comparisons to the Voltron toy Toynami had released. Using the complexity of that toy, the amount of die-cast vs. plastic, and number of units sold, it would seem illogical to sell the Beta for that much. The Beta is one piece, not as complex, roughly about the same size, well, you get the idea.... I just now got this from BBTS: There you have it, start cancelling your preorders.

I jumped on the preorder because of the price. It's not like I won't get one, but I'm definitely gonna wait if it's more than $150. If it's anymore, I have no problem in boycotting these damn things, since they are trying to charge import prices for these. I can wait on these since I've already waited years. My preorder at BBTS hasn't changed, nor have I received any notice from them as of yet, so I'm sure they'll follow suit. In that, time will tell the next action.

I just got an email from TMA basically saying that they are cancelling all preorders because Toynami has told them that the price will be somewhere between $150-$200. They also said that until a price is confirmed, they will not put the price up. So, now that it's settled, I hope there are people in here that can act civil about all this info, and not comment on the issue anymore. Basically, the retailer is saying they don't even know, and aren't going to speculate either. So, my suggestion would be to drop it. Acting like an A-hole on the forums doesn't show you have an I.Q., just a lack of one. Now, with that said, I'm kinda torn between the CMs version, and the Toynami. I like the functionality of the missil bays on the CMs, as well as some of the curvy renditions, but I like the solid look and color of the Toynami. Also, the CMs version looks not to be in scale with the Legioss, as the cockpit of the Tread is much smaller than the Legioss. Toynami's seems a little more in scale, but for some reason, doesn't look too line accurate. Definitely anime magic on that mecha being utilized. Since I still have a good number of Alphas left in my collection, I will try to get 2 each of all the Toynami, and if someone can please tell me... WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE CMS LEGIOSS AND TREAD? Is it similar to Toynami's? Bigger? Smaller? I think that will determine if I buy one or not.

I think anyone trying to correct anyone on a speculative matter is simply stupid on more than one account. To elevate this thread to where it is seems like a waste of time. Honestly, I'd like to see them honor the price, and in my opinion, they should. If they are going to put them out this early without price verification, then if they underestimate, that should be no ones fault but their own. But, that's my $0.02. If it is changed, I have ordered two of each, but will quickly cancel if the prices change too much. If they are about $150 each, I'll probably just order 1 each. In anycase, only time will tell. I do have a question for those of you that may know... What size is the CMs set in comparison to the Toynami version?

I'll do that. Thanks for your help. My other ones came out just fine, so hopefully I can get this one taken care of.

I have to say that I got my MH Stick and Ley yesterday, 2 sets, and they are pretty damn cool. the only problem I found was on one of the Stick figures, the guard rail piece (the part with the black and white stripes had one missing the joint piece to connect it to the leg in armor mode. Needless to say, I am kinda pissed at it, but nevertheless, for it's size, it's a freaking awesome toy. HLJ didn't even tell me they had shipped them until like 3 days ago, and bam, there they were at my doorstep. I'm glad I got these over the CM versions. They do the Mospeada line a bit of justice.

They were pics I got during a time I was trying to collect as much lineart and concept work as possible. There were about 6 people I had collected various art from. Unfortunately, whoever I got these from wasn't the original owner of the pics. While I do have lots of various Mospeada lineart, I will do some research, and see what I have that has been put out before on the net. I'll get some of the stuff scanned into my computer, and put it up as soon as I can. And to answer your question, no, it wasn't Tommy. But if it was from HG, I would've kept it up. I simply took it down out of respect for the fellow MWer whose pics they were. I'm going to clean up some other pics I have, and get them on here if possible. LOL See you guys back in here soon.

If you ever get to see Tommy Yunes so-called mecha designs, a lot of them basically are from those designs, so no, I don't think they kept anything sacred. The Invid artillery trooper is a direct copy, and the cyclone from shadow chronicles had a lot of influence from that armored ride armor. Anyways, I'll see if I have anymore interesting stuff that hasn't been seen. I have some interesting Southern Cross concept art, but I'll look for more Mospeada.

You know, after looking at this enough, the sculpt has really grown on me. Although quite large for my collection, the detail of the face is just amazing. Count me in for one, LOL

I think I've even got my wife interested in these babies. All right, Christmas presents!!!!

Ahhh, the 1/55s get no love. They are a dying breed, but very easy to customize and very easy to transform. Long live the chunky monkeys!!!

Glad you liked this purchase. I've been fortunate in all my Yamato purchases, and like you, this purchase was the first that I have had nothing but great joy in. To replace the canards, they just pull out, but I try to do it gingerly. They should just pop out eventually.

High Definition Media & Technology Thread
Jasonc replied to JsARCLIGHT's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
they should've listened to Michael Bay in the beginning, retards!!! Anyways, now I have better validation for purchasing my PS3 in the beginning. And now, I can start buying Blu-Ray movies. Till now, I haven't bought any, while I was waiting to see what would become victorious. Now that BR is it, I can now use those Best Buy gift certificates for some cool stuff. This is great news. I was hoping this stupid media war wouldn't last too long. -
Has anyone tried this with the Revoltech Revvy? I have two of her, so I think I'll work on that, sometime very shortly. She shows more skin, but not sure about the shorts. May have to do some work on that part. I'll let you all know if that is feasible.

I bought the Aoshima set awhile back ago, just for study and because I got them for so cheap. I have to admit that the colors aren't as good as the Toynami versions, but mine seem to hold up okay. I think the ratcheted legs is the only improvement. So far, I've managed to take apart a few of my Toynami ones that I received broken from a bulk buy, and to my surprise, I found that a lot of the reason why things don't fit properly is because of runny glue, oversprayed paint, and bad plastic molds. After taking one of these apart, cleaning it up, and putting it back together, I think it is now my best transforming MPC to date. It's sad that I have to spend over an hour taking the whole damn thing apart, but if you are mechanically inclined, and have PROPER tools, it may be an option for you. the crappy hands, I can't do anything about those, but I am looking at various Gundam kits with comparable hands to mod these. Learning the mechanics of these has also helped to fix the problems I had with my personal stash. I think I'm gonna work on selling the rest off though. I have too many of these things, and I am out of space for new stuff.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
Jasonc replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
LMFAO!!! People even complain about complaining! The strive for perfection is a never ending quest. Get over it. We will always find something wrong in everything. -
If you make decals available, there's already 5 sets I need, so you're set there. If you do make them, will they be coated for protection?
