  1. you know what? after i modifed the devastator face i thought it looked like the face on mars too! but i didn't want to mention it or some of you may think i was crazy. but it looks like many of us are crazy, lol. the head was made from the back of the bootleg head, front of devastator face, and jetfire antennaes. all were heavily modified. i've been slowly working on it for an hour or 2 every weekend for 4-5 weeks. no time with class n work it is one-piece and recast friendly. you can use a simple one-piece mold to do this. just cut a slice through one side of the molding material and the recasted head can pop right out =D BUT i don't think i'll recast it....its at best a amateur attempt. if other people were to have this i would make a new one with more definate lines and more precise proportions. pictures up when i have time....this weekend i may be going to san diego with the gf and then on sunday i am goign to hollywood to watch some friends in a battle of the bands. and those are normally my customizing days =(
  2. here it is almost done. it is closer to the cartoon then the head i did for the skyfire currently up on my site. a panel line was added on the side and back of the head like screencaps. i also carved out the area outlining the face so you could use wash to get a darker gray in the crack to make it like the screencap. sorry for the bad pictures.. ill take more when i have time. i have 3 midterms next week and a presentation. just took all of them at once....no time to re-do em.
  3. here is the head with bondo and styrene all over. i masked off the face with tamiya masking tape because i did not want layers of primer to cover the lips and eyes.
  4. i used a bootelg devastator head, bootleg 1/55 head, and jetfire antennaes. then i used lots of bondo and styrene to do the rest. here is the stuff that makes up my head.
  5. i wanted to do an accurate skyfire ever since i got into macross....it would bridge the gap between my two passions. here is screen caps:
  6. leaving for my gf's pal chirhiro's party. she was born on halloween! freaky huh? i shall be out of place because many of those straight up exchange japanese students will be there. we are going in these creepy clear masks that change your face structure. and i thought these skeleton gloves looked cool so i am going to wear those too.
  7. HAHHAHA. what a dick!! you actually did it. "here is my beatiful insane work" "i am going to tear it up" i was joking aroudn when i told you to do that, lol. damn rob that is something to be proud of. curse your perfectinist nature. will you ever finish anything nowdays? the symmetry and the precise lines of the panels are indeed a sight to behold. rock on friend. in your vf-1ag and with your new gal. F michigan
  8. i have an even higher opinion of him now. you should have seen him in japan. you know how japanese are stereotypically courteous? well, this guy is super nice....almost insane!!! thank you seichii

  10. what a pain. gluck. im sure you'll come up with a solution on saturday =D
  11. the hands and pilots are looking much much better
  12. too round. i beleive DOM was the first to put battroid super poseable hands on a yamato. pics are gone now try that, it will look better
  13. A bitch and a half, to be precise. Those were a HUGE headache to create. The only solution that seemed to work was to mask the hip intake section in several stages, remove the pieces of tape, slap 'em on a sheet of paper, scan them in, trace their outlines in Illustrator, then render the designs.... BTW, this is the same process I use for the Minmay Guard sets--very time consuming. Of course, they don't fit precisely right (does anything ever?) because there are so many variable surfaces, but the blue of the decals matches Tamiya's Flat Blue perfectly so I was able to dab a little paint here and there to fill in the micro-gaps. cool, if the color matches tamiya's exactly then people can paitn the hip if they want to =D nice work again dev
  14. nice!! those hip intake decals must have been a bitch to design, yikes!!!! you can see the love in all the decals =D great work
  15. some translations: the bald dude working with sonny chiba/hattori says randomly"im not balding i shave my head" . the reason he says this is when sonny/hatorri is cussing at him in japanese he calls him a baldy...they didn't add that in the subtitles. and there the part when lucy liu's gang go upstairs in that nightclub and are drinking. there is a pretty long dialgue among some drunken black mask dudes that no subtitles were added to. the guy on the floor drinking is tlaking about getting a BJ from an old lady.
  16. its the real deal. i remember they had these in STACKS for $20 at neo happyland, lol. they are tiny though not as tiny as those new tf minitures that just came out
  17. yep, those boxes are nice as heck. but up close you can see wear on the edges from folding the box. and the insert is plastic like a joons and not styro
  18. good read. the most interesting application is mixing food color in there for tints. before, i only thought about buying pre-made clear colors and airbrushing them on. future's is really great stuff. its been 2 years and im not even 1/4 done with my $6 bottle
  19. hey that looks pretty cool. maybe we can recast it for a 1/55 bandai, lol.
  20. yep, it was great. me, my gf, and her friend had to sit in the front row because the same theatre was so packed. david carradine (sic?) was a bad ass. he was pretty damn creepy when he was touching uma + sophia's face.
  21. this movie is old right?? like from the mid 1990s i saw it 4-5 years ago in japanese class. i remember it was good, but time has erased much of the plot from my memory.
  22. if anyone has a spare and wants to sell it let me know. that valkyrie featured tiny rescuplts on the wings and tailfin tips. supposedly, it is originally from hong kong.
  23. you will have to drill holes into the wings if you want them to close. if you just glue magnets on the wings will not be able to close anymore unless you modify the backplate assembly. unless of course you prefer the open-wing battroid look. also, if you are attaching 3 missiles per wing...the wings get thinner near the tip so at the tips you have to be very, very careful.
