I slow boat ship a lot of stuff these days due to how high shipping costs have become. I have learned nearly infinite patience during the pandemic. I don't slow boat valks though because I don't trust my hard-to-replace valks not getting lost or banged up on such a long journey. Cue the montage! Hey thanks! I always thought they were sensor units, but whatever they are I painted them in since Bandai keeps skipping that detail.

Fiddled with my newly arrived Mirage. As expected it has all the same problems as the Hayate release. Overall the 31AX is a big step backwards from the original 31. She's a pretty bird but a frustrating experience to actually handle. I do like the color and overall look more than Hayate's though.

Whatever problems Hayate's 31AX had will be on all subsequent releases until the end of time, or until a decade or so passes and Bandai decides to update the mold for a nonagenarian Max to pilot his own custom 31AX.

The hips are marginally improved, but they're a far cry from the ratcheted joints on the 31.

I guess that price wasn't unexpected. At least it's a hassle-free PO.

I just shipped mine out along with my 31AX so I'm just now catching up on this thread. What do you guys use to strip the paint off the inside of the helmet visor?

Looks like a couple others already answered your question. Overall the updates to the 29 were pretty minor, much like the renewal 27 was only a slight tweaking of the original mold. The most noticeable difference is the matte finish, which really improves the look versus the old glossy finish, which just made it look really cheap.

Somewhat excited about getting a repaint of a 10+ year old toy.

It's the exact same mold as the recently reissued Alto 29, so it'll have all the same problems/fixes. It would be bizarre even for Bandai to switch back to a 10+ year old mold after spending the time and money to update it.

I bought it elsewhere because it's 2022 and it's damn time Amiami got a website that functions better than something from 2002. Lottery for a regular retail item... F U AA.
