A few additional purchases to toss into the shipping box headed to the States. Since I have the Figuarts Mikumo, I went ahead and grabbed Freyja too. The VF-11B was only 500 yen so I grabbed it too, and it shouldn't look too out of place with my HMR battroids. Not really into Gundam, but the V2 Gundam was the very first straight Japanese imported toy I ever got as a lad, so I decided to get a newer version of it. The F-35 is 1/144 scale and pre-painted, so it'll be placed with my Tomytec 31s, if I ever get around to putting those together...

As far as I know, I believe the only difference is how long its been aged. I went to the distillery and tried the 25 year Yamazaki (no bottles for sale)... 2500 yen just for 30 ml tasting glass! It was amazing though. -

Wasn't planning to get any of the Figuarts Walkure, but I saw Mikumo for only 2400 and said why not. Also picked up some of my favorite liquor.

Plenty of Messers and Mirages to be had in Tokyo. Seen Mirage for as low as 17800.

All great advice here. Only thing I have to add is you can remove Mark Setter residue pretty easily by gently rubbing with a moist Q-tip. This an important step if you happen to be working on any kind of transparent surface as it will be really visible.

At long last I've finally completed Emerald Force. They even let me keep the Mylene illustration from the price tag. Picked up a Messer VF-1S too since it was discounted enough.

Side note: the shop happened to be playing Lion when I passed by that display. Specifically, the 2012 cosmic nyan live performance of it, which is incidentally also my favorite version of Lion.

Yeah the higher price is due to being a web exclusive. I'm sure Chuck's unit will cost as much when Bandai inevitably releases it as a web exclusive too.

Well, at least battroid mode won't be an issue. Beginning of a trend? My dear boy, prices have been on the rise across the board for some time now with rising labor costs. But as a wise man remarked before: can't really begrudge all those factory workers for wanting a fair wage for their work. Our demand for increasing complex and accurate toys probably isn't helping with prices.

^ Although I personally don't care about this up voting / down voting nonsense, the fact that someone was butthurt enough over me calling the Messer VF-1 the "pink nipple valk" to bother down voting just brought a smile to my face. Thank you, kind stranger.

The heads are on a simple ball joint and can be popped off easily. The issue with swapping heads is with the surrounding plates. The shape of the grooves are slightly different for each head unit. It may not be as much of an issue on the 31 as their head shapes are similar, but it was definitely an issue on the 25.

The 31A should have been the hero valk of the series! But would it look as good painted in red, blue, yellow, etc?
