  1. I just got my 1/15 Toynami "Scott" today. I have not removed it from the box though yet. Looks cool so far! I just can't wait for the Beagle So what is the current rumor mill say about the Legioss and Treads? Does Beagle sound like the way to go there too? From what I have read eveything else has come out like junk???
  2. In regards to replacement or repair that has a lot to do with the individual manufacturer retailer. Keep in mind for the most part HLJ is going to have their hands tied by whatever Yamato’s policy is. It’s not like Yamato can send out replacements because they are going into their pocket to solve Yamato’s problem. I’m sure that everyone can agree that it’s not HLJ’s job to fix Yamato’s mistakes. I’m sure that HLJ would like nothing more for Yamato’s warranty policy to be an “exchange” policy, but that obviously is not the case. So if you want to be upset that it broke get pissed at Yamato. If you want to be pissed that you get replacement parts and not a new toy from top to bottom get pissed at Yamato To me it sounds to me like HLJ is getting screwed just as bad as the customer is. They get all the pissed off calls, all the pissed up follow up calls (multiply that by 5-10) and at the end of the entire transaction HLJ comes out looking like that bad guys. It’s human nature to only get upset at the people that they can see/communicate. In a sense Yamato is brilliant.
  3. Absolutely. I don't want the little fella to get picked on by my 1/48's when im not at home
  4. None, they are too small
  5. I get as much as I can from LAFToys. He is a great guy, great customer service and my favorite part is his business is in the USA. I would much rather give the profit to a fellow countryman. Lost And Found Toys Linky-poo
  6. I just preordered a VF-1A Higgy with S&S parts from LAFToys. First time I have ever preordered anything. Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet?
  7. I had a VF0A, it was one of the first Yamato’s I got. It was so loose that I sold it right away. I also have a VF0S that is pretty loose too but I transformed it into Batroid mode and it has been sitting there untouched since then. I’m afraid if I yell too loud it will crumble. I do have a VF0S with Ghost and that sucker is tight as a drum! If the new VF0A is like the re-release of the VF0S I will be all over that sucker.
  8. Yeah, WHERE ARE MY PICTURES!!!!!????? Since I started collecting.........a whole year ago. This is the one I am most looking forward too.
  9. I'd get one, they rock!
  10. Try putting the pin in your freezer overnight and maybe, if you are OK with it put the 51 in the sun for a little bit. Or, better het just heat the hinge up a little with a hair dryer or something. The pin should slip right in. I use this method to put roller bearings in my motorcycle race motors (except I am using an oven and the freezer) and the bearings go from being needed to be pushed in to dropping right in with no resistance at all. When everything gets back to room temp they are tight as a drum.
  11. I agree. I will be doing all of my future shopping here because of the good service, fair prices and I am supporting a US distributor which I am sure would like as much help as they can get.
  12. Man, I saw this up at the top and got all excited. No pictures huh?
  13. I'm leaning that way too. I just need to brake the completist in me. The problem is that I was so close! It's not like I needed 8 more 1/48's. Oh well I do dig the customs though. jung did a YF-19 Fokker Skull One for me and it's ffront and center right here next to my monitor. It's soooooo sweeeeeeet. I'm sure he would do a much better weathering job on the Roy than Yamato did. And I do have 4 of them. My next custom is to have a 1/60 YF-19 done in 19a colors (light blue and white). That should be cool.
  14. Well, I didn't get it. $600+ to my door is just too much to justify. And with the low feedback score I wasn't exactly feeling all warm and fuzzy. Maybe some day they will get down to about $375-400. I would not mind getting one for that much.
  15. I don't think it's as good as we are left to beleive. I have heard some horror storys about getting screwed. Where they real? Did Paypal take care of matters? Did the buyer actualy get scammed? I have no idea, thats what has me twisting.
  16. I wondered if anyone else was feeling that way. Now I know I am not imagining it. thanks
  17. Probably shouldn't post a pic of my wife up here then. I marvel at least once a day at how lucky I have been through life. I don't take any of it for granted. You hit the nail on the head with you opinion. I could care less about collecting them so some day I can sell them and get rich but I am a completionist at heart. There have been a ton of Yamato 1/48's made and sold and a lot of people are leaving them boxed up so they can cash in on them some day. I don't think they will ever be worth much more if any than what they go for now. Collector items are expensive 20 years later if they are hard to get but I don't think the 1/48's will ever get that hard to find. Too many people are storing them with plans to sell them in the long run. A Transformers Jetfire MISB is worth a ton of money now because when they came out we took them out of the boxes and played with them, etc. We had no clue at 11 years old that some day they may be worth something. So, Jetfires got seperated from their boxes, parts came up missing or broke off, they turned yellow, etc. You won't see that with the Yamatos. There will be plenty of MIB examples out there. It's like the people who are paying $20,000 over retail for the Ford Shelby GT500 right now and sticking them in garages and will be opened up in 20 years and carted off to Barret Jackson thinking they are going to get a half a million dollars for it. They will be ina big surprise when there are 40 just like it at the same auction. They probably won't even fetch what they cost new. I already have all the 1/48's as well as all the GBP armor, available fastpacks, etc. The only ones I don't have are the credit card Valk (never even seen a pic of one) and the Weathered Roy. With the two new exclusives coming out later this year and the fact that getting my hands on them will be spendy. I have been trying to convince myself that I don't need to be a completionist, but there is always that little voice in my head telling me to get a Weathered Roy and tackle getting the upcoming exclusives when they hit the streets. Every time I manage to convince myself I don't want to/need to be a completionist I catch a glimpse of a Weathered Roy and start craving one. It's like quitting smoking. The logical side of my brain tells me that I am a fool to pay $600 for a Weathered Roy. And my money would be best spent with someone like jung to weather it up for me. It will look 10 times better than the Yamato version, but it just won't be the "actual" exclusive. Why that gets under my skin I don't know. Thanks for your accurate and honest advice.
  18. This auction is for a VF-1S Weathered and an autographed card by one of the voice actors. feeBay Link Item number in case the link doesn't work 110279435042 The price is already getting up to where my cutoff is (well maybe cutoff isn’t the best word for it, who am I kidding? I want one!), the shipping is $60 too. Does that seem high from Japan? He also only has a feedback score of three. It looks like he bought one item and sold two, one of the two sold was another Weathered Roy. I’m usually pretty free wheelin’ when it comes to getting stuff off of eBay and I have never been screwed but for some reason my Spidey Senses are tingling a little bit on this one. Something about the look of the auction is poking at me and I don’t know what it is. I know it’s expensive, and that is partially why I am a little nervous. But adding a feedback score of 3 and the funny feeling I am getting are making me sway toward passing on this one. If it were in the States and even as high as $550-600 shipped I would probably go for it. What do you guys think? Thanks sqidd
  19. Thanks everyone for the help. I think I am going to hold off till the beagle one comes out and then based on reviews pick what to get. Once again thanks!
  20. SuperHobo nukatsuka jenius Thanks for your input. So as of right now the Megahouse is top dog huh? But it's by no means perfect from what I have been reading. Is it one of those situations where it's the best of the worst? jenius You mentioned wating on the Beagle before buying anything so it could be compared to the current crop right? Someone was nice enough to post some pics of a prototype but that certainly doesn't tell you what it's presence is going to be, quality, etc. The prototype looked pretty good to me though and I like that it's a 1/10th scale. The bigger the better. It would be sweet if it was as big or bigger than the Gakken one from 20 years ago. It also looked like it had the best rider/bike connection of all the RA's. Doesn't effect me much because I will always have it set up with the armor on, but it's nice to know the quality is there. Do you by any chance know anything about a release date? Do you think the Megahouse ones are worth the $75 or so to get it too your door? I'm thinking I may pick up the blue one with the blades to tide me over till the Beagle's are released. thanks Jason
  21. I can't tell, maybe you can. Is the Ride Armor behind the red bike and to the left a 1/10 Beagle?
  22. Yours look outstanding. I just don't have those skillz. I would also like to have a bigger toy. I will be putting whatever I get right into armor mode and leaving it that way. In that case you suggest getting the Megahouse right? I'm pretty sure the blue one with the blades on the far right is a Megahouse 1/15 right? I'm also pretty sure that the green Ride Armor behind the red bike and off to the right is a 1/15 Megahouse too, correct? So what brand is the Ride Armor that is behind the red bike and off to the left a little? It doesn't look like a Megahouse to me and may even be bigger than the 1/15 MH too boot. To me it looks like the best one as far as fit and finish too. And I like the size. It also seems to be the only big one that doesn't need a stand. Is this the Beagle Ride Armor? thanks!
  23. I am out of the loop in regards to the Ride Armor but I know there was some that were supposed to come out soon. What company makes the two small ones in front? What scale are they? They look a little "cheap". Is that so? Is there something cool about them I am missing that makes them a must have? Is the Ride Armor in the back row behind the red bike on the right the CM 1/18? Is the Ride Armor in the back row behind the red bike on the left the Megahouse 1/15? You had mentioned in a previous post that the one on the far right in blue needed some work to get it to look like that. Is that a Megahouse? Is it a 1/15 scale? Are they still available? Where do I get one or three? I'm diggin the blade on the right arm in a big way. To me that looks like the best one (mostly because of the blade). I think my pants just moved a little. From day 1 (when RT 3rd gen started playing on TV), what was that 25 years ago, my favorite Mecha was always the Ride Armor (with the VF-1S a close second). It’s obvious you have a wealth of knowledge about the Ride Armors. I would appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction so I can get my old school Gakken (MIB no less) some friends to play with. Are there any other ones out there, or that will be available soon that are suposed to be incredible? Thanks for your help!
  24. Frontire Thread Already In Progress.....forever
  25. I have never preordered anything but I just did on the VF-1A with FP's. I'm so excited
