  1. Yeah, definitely not painting the wall. I agree that would be ideal. The shelves are a lot of work to get out. These are actually shipped pre-assembled. Why does the best way always end up bing the hard way, LOL! Thanks guys!
  2. What do you think guys? To cut down on some of the light glaring back at me from the walls I thought maybe a dark background would be cool. Mocked it up with some black poster board for a test. With some toys it works better than white. Some not. I think it works better the majority of the time. Not exactly thrilled that I think I like it with a black background, because that is going to take some work. I'd probably cover the backsides with black sticker material. I'm pretty sure that my thinking I like it more black isn't confirmation bias then. I think space/starts/galaxy stuff would be really cool. I just can't figure out how to do it without wallpaper. And I'm not wallpapering that wall. What say you?

Yeah, Mandrake is pretty over-descriptive with their box damage stuff. I get a LOT of stuff from Mandrake. Every single time when I open a shipping box I think to myself "That's severely damaged"? It does help that I'm not a "box guy" too. I don't display boxes and I'm not worried down the road about selling them. I've sold my entire collection once about 9yrs ago. Hopefully I never do that again. And if I do, box quality is going to be the least of my worries. If i'm selling my collection things went very sideways. I don't even have one. I feel like I need a minimum of four. Preferably six. Current pricing is nuts. I haven't seen one come up on Mandrake yet. Hopefully they re-issue. As much as people want them you would think it's money in the bank for Bandai. And for the love of god we need some Q-Rau's! I'd love to do a little battle scene/diorama/display. Need the whole team for that.

That looks spectacular. I wish I had the skills, vision and time to do that sort of work.
  5. I can live with that. Thanks for the link. Anyone know what you can use as stand for fighter mode? Something clear preferably? Like a YetiStand or those three post deals (I can't remember the name).
  6. Agreed, nice stuff @valkfighter
  7. Or, he thought he would blow MW up and did it for fun. Can you imagine the speculation he could induce by just placing a few small things in the background? He could ignite furious speculation in the Macross community with ease. I admire his restraint. I can't say I wouldn't have a little fun with the fan base.

Found a Glaug on Mandrake with "severely damaged box" (whatever, I don't care) for $75. But because I hav an addiction issue with toys apparently and I needed to justify shipping.....I got a few more things. Man, I've got problems. And now I have a new problem. This is my first enemy mech. Gonna need more!
  10. Well, because I found a Glaug on Mandrake for $75 and I HAD to get some other stuff to justify shipping........I got the Astrea Type F Heavy Weapons Set. And a Great Mazinger. Man I have a problem.
  11. Thanks guys! I'm just realizing that these bulbs are still too bight. Now that the sun has gone down I'm getting "spots" in my vision like someone hit me with their brights. Those are 400 lumen bulbs. Just pinged Amazon for some 240's. Hopefully that is the Goldilocks zone.
  12. It's this guy right here. If you look close at the right hand cab second and third shelves down there are a couple more. They really work well at doubling up space for those size figures. There are all sorts of sizes on Amazon. Of course the one that woks the best for those cabs is a zillion dollars. Story of my life. Link To Riser
  13. After finding out that my two used cabs (bottom pic-left) were not LED (they had LED bulbs but halogen drivers) I went on a quest to figure out how to resolve it. I ended up having to wire in LED drivers, which isn't hard once you know what you're doing. Unfortunately the LED world is a little wild west. Lot's of contradictory info out there. You have to figure out if you want constant voltage or constant current. Then you have to pick your bulbs. Then you have to get drivers based on the needs of the bulbs. After a LOT of looking around and asking questions I got it dialed. I swapped out the drivers and switched from 30deg bulbs (30 deg spread) to 120deg bulbs. These are actually the "soft" ones. And they're not that soft. I got some "white" bulbs. Holy smokes, that was way too much. Anyhoo, lots of hours involved in the switch over. The 120deg bulbs really lit the top shelves up where the light shine straight down. The 30's were pretty weenie. Got tracking for a massive YetiStand order yesterday. Now I can finally unpack a bunch of Valks and do stuff like get that SV-51 in the LH cab off it's belly. These cans are probably going to be pretty tight pretty soon. Good news is that I did figure out how to fit one more of these cabs in the office. After that.......time to move. After Before
  14. Jokes ladies and gentlemen. Jokes.
  15. Nothing a DX-IED won't solve.
  16. He's surrounded by that stuff all day. It's become "invisible" to him. I've been working with very, very high end race car/motorcycle stuff forever. People freak out when they get to see it up close. I don't notice it's there anymore.

    I vote Iron Man
  18. You should sell me yours for $175.
  19. Yes sir I did! Kuma and I chatted about it last night. He wasn't thrilled with the quality of this one and thought knowing what I like out of toys I should probably stay away from it. Too bad, that guy looks AWESOME. Thanks for keeping me in mind! Just looked at the pic again. Man, I really love this one.
  20. I was thinking if I could find it used/cheap of possibly pulling the trigger. I'm not that into it though. I've got three HMR's. Thanks
