  1. I was referring to the 31 also. And I know you know, but everyone else should know I'm working off hearsay for some of this. I wasn't around back in the day of the 31. I was under the impression that a few people here were pushed into store credit though??? Maybe that wasn't on the 31? And I guess the next question is who has gotten a VF-1S from NY recently and what was your order number? I would be curious to see where they're at.
  2. I hear that GI Joe's head is a little too big, it has a lazy eye, Carny hands, and smells like cabbage. Everyone knows Drakkar Noir is cannon. Sheesh. It's really a slap in the face of the consumer.
  3. I agree, the Yamato battroid is a disaster. I'm not a big fan of Gerwalk either. I have three of most things so I can display in all modes at the same time. I have one Yamato YF-21 in fighter. That's how much I don't like the other two modes. I think the Bandai looks great in those two modes. I'll be getting at least two. Maybe three so I can have two Fighters. One with a fold booster, one without (I have a fold booster for my Yammie). And maybe even another Yamato or Bandai so I can display a delimiter mode too. When tese come out I'm going to need to add a Plus shelf (total two). May as well fill it out.
  4. True, my NY S's where at the scalper prices. I did leave out that NY was completely out of S's and they were still 3000 (or was it 30,000) order numbers away from my order. How is a company that is out of stock on an item taking such a hard line on canceling orders? Sorry NY, once you were out of stock you lost your ability to say "We're not refunding your order, we will come through eventually". On that. People keep saying that NY always come though. But, people have mentioned that it has taken them over a year to do it. And sometimes they don't. If they don't come through you get a store credit that by the sounds of it is very hard to use. Who wants to wait a year? And who wants to wait a year only to get a hard to use store credit. I don't have proof mind you. But it seems as if NY also prioritizes JP customers over US ones. This last Strike Pack PO kinda looked like that. As far as I can tell A LOT of people that were in on the first PO the first night were bumped to the April release after being confirmed that they were in the January release. That's not cool IMO. I may be wrong about this though. Lastly, NY asking for final payment on the VF-0D's right before their release date was pushed a few months seemed a bit fishy. My overall conclusion is I don't like the way NY does business. And when given the chance/asked I'm going to give my opinion of them.
  5. I decided (I think a few others did to) that NY had more negatives than positives going for it when compared to other options. I had some VF-1S's and Strike parts PO'd though them (6 of each). If they responded to my emails it was either an answer to a question I didn't ask, or they blew me off. There are too many better options out there. I did a PayPal dispute knowing NY would ban me. I don't care, I'm done with them anyway. The day after PP gave me my money back (which was only a couple of days) I filled that order through other means. Did I get them at retail/PO pricing? No, not that. But I got them for a lot less than NY was retailing them for, and I got them right now. The majority I had shipped to my Tenso address and them forwarded them as a bundle to save on shipping. Did I end up paying more than PO pricing (I wasn't in on it anyway)? Yes. Was it a lot more? No. Did I get everything right away? Sure did. And I don't have to worry about what NY is or isn't going to do and how long it takes to get it done. A bird in the hand and all that.
  6. You guys have pony's now?
  7. As much as I like my Bandai 1/48's (and I do!). It really would have been nice of they basically took the Yamato and added 20yrs of technology, design and production technique to it. The only thing I don't like about my Yamato's is that they a lot less refined, things are looser, etc. Aside from that the Yamato's are pretty much perfect.
  8. That's a matter of perception. To me the Bandai looks better proportioned in the arms. And because I travel in the bodybuilding community where aesthetic and proportions are everything, I'm right, and you're wrong. So there!
  9. My wife and I got each other a 75" LG Nano 8 LED for Xmas. We haven't had a new TV since our 65" DLP in I think 2006. I was really wow'd by the effects. Thought it was the TV. Watches some other stuff since. Not that it was crap, but LIS was excellent. I still have some fine tuning to do with the screen. LIS looked incredible/smooth. Gold Rush (for some reason I'm fascinated with gold mining) looks really good in a different picture mode than you would watch a feature film (I can't remember what it is). But we were watching Ray Donovan last night and I get a jerky thing going on especially when the camera pans or someone walks by. Really distracting. There are about a million screen adjustment (good). It's probably going to take me the rest of my life to get that sorted out.
  10. That was a fantastic poke at just about every space and naval story ever! I was laughing my tail off! Yes, I understand that military ships sometimes have the ability to scuttle. I'm pretty sure it's not a "self destruct sequence" though. Most likely set explosives against hull. Run. Maybe remote detonator.
  11. Is it a snap together type kit that doesn't need painting? Or a model model?
  12. I love it. I can't wait for mine to get here.
  13. My Mandy orders have been taking between three days and three weeks. All EMS.
  14. Don't forget they're a little sticky too.
  15. You spelled "despair" wrong.
  16. Plus tax and shipping they were $182.96. A steal really. I've got $412 in the valk and S&S parts. They're both new.
  17. Sure did! Won the auction last night. I asked the guy to end it early and name his price. He wanted to let it ride (and didn't give me a number). I ended up getting it for about $100 less than I was willing to go. I'll call that win!
  18. I'd really like a missile effects set ala HMR for the VF-1S Hikaru.
  19. I'm going to wager.........................................awesome!
  20. Those low, low prices come from somewhere.
  21. I'm not real concerned. I knew I was gambling. And maybe with some fine tuning it can work for me. I don't play, only display, so it probably won't be a big deal. Looks like the real problem is going to be the need for a turntable for this guy. Man, the back side looks just as good as the front!
