  1. Damn , the VF-0 looks too damn detailed to be true , I can believe it´s actually 1/100. Lots of nice toys.
  2. Did you just panel line ? What did you panel lined it with ?
  3. There´s no VF-X3. I hope the koenig is a sign that Yamato is willing to expand on the VF-X2 line. I only pray for a Pheyos valk , a VF-5000 and a VF-11 Full Armour , those 3 alone would make me the happiest fan of all.
  4. Thanks mate. I think I´ll just limit miself to panel lines since that´s as far as my confidence goes with model kits. Yeah , i already knew it wasn´t a MG. Still , if it´s a tad better than HG then I´m happy , more value for money. I´ll be getting this along with the GFF X-2 Cross Bone Gundam. PS. Any recomendations in regards to the Astray ? should I do something else apart from panel lines ? any problems found in this kit ? Cheers.
  5. OK , I´m a bit confused , I did a little research on the 1/100 Gundam Astray Red Frame kit and found this. From what people had told me here I do not need to paint or do anything else to the kit except assemble it and put the stikers , but from what I see on the pics it seems I do need to paint the kit. In the first part we see the assembled kit , that´s how it´s supposed to look like , but is that how it will look like just by assembling it and puting the stikers ? So what do I do ? paint it or not ? it´s been a decade since I last tried to paint a model kit. PS. Are there any plans of releasing GFF Seed figures in the future , or is that just whishful thinking ?
  6. So this is where Kawamori got the inspiration to do the SV-51 niceeeee What relevance does the head unit have ? does it have to look ok for some to like the entire mecha ? damn , some people are just picky. Well , some like that trend , some other people don´t .
  7. I kinda agree with you. I´ve seen examples of this happening , not exactly now cause Yamato no longer shares interest in these boards anymore but in the past they used this forum as guide to plubic expectation. Of course you´re wrong in one point , and that is the fact that etailers prices are not set by Yamato but by the etailers themselves so their prices have nothing to do with Yamato. Though , I would agree that in some way Yamato (used to) use this forum AND their own studies on the demographic of japanese macross consumers to set their Japan retail prices and so get the most of Japanese fans AND etailers. I would like to assume that the Q-rau was an example of this (of course I could be very wrong) as the actual price wasn´t announced until the very last moment , Yamato COULD easily have browsed through the hordes of comments on the Q-rau and picked up those that commented on how much people would be willing to pay for the toy and made a consensus with the retai price japanese consumers would be willing to pay. Afterall , I don´t see how japanese consumers (specially old fans) could have any difficulty on paying whatever prive tags Yamato put on their toys.
  8. mmmm...10 pages. I don´t need to read the whole thread to deduce this has generated YET ANOTHER flame war , I just have to look at the litle and see if there´s a M7 on it. I can´t believe the mods haven´t banned M7 altogether from this site. It´s has been proved time after time that M7 thread do nothing but generate flame wars with a heavy lack on constructive debate. M7 threads should be prohibited in this site period. It´s time we learn our lesson and stop this vicious cicle. Though , now that I think of it , the existence of this kind of threads keeps trouble making members from derailing other threads like YF-19 vs YF-22 or M0 threads. mmmm...I´m confused , should we keep the troublemakers entertained on threads like this forever or should we stop the chaos ?
  9. Although it´s not the best reendition of the YF19 It´s still a cool WP. Thanks for sharing this with us , I could find a better quality image of this illustration myself. thanks
  10. I don´t care if we get more 1/48 toys , I just want more macross toys ,period. For all I care they can go back to 1/60 or 1/72 , given the fact that not all valks are as small as the VF-1 , 1/48 isn´t my first choice. We´re sure they´ll waste at least a whole year with the M0 1/100 toys and now that they have begun making VF-X2 toys (Koenig Monster ) I´m sure we´ll get another year of valks. And I haven´t mentioned the bigger scale M0 toys yet. And then , hopefully , Yamato will be able to release M7 toys. They surely have a LOT of valks there to produce , one year is not even enough for the 1/100 Mo toys
  11. sorry but just becuase there are worst toys out there it does not make this one good. Yeah but just because there are better toys out there it does not make this one bad your judgement on the toy is utterly subjective, which IMO is a bad thing cause NO ONE, not even Grahams has had the opportunity to handle this toy. If the toy works (i.e. transforms correctly and it´s articulation are fine) then it´s a functional toy. All I´m saying is that you can´t judge how good the toy performs in terms o playability just by looking at how good the sculpt looks. Mate , why do you even bother to whine about this toy if you won´t be buying it and you don´t care about it ? we both want the bigger version so why waste our time with this one ?
  12. I posted multiple quotes , I was referring to whoever posted that coment on wanting large scale M+ toys. No , that means it´s not like a 1/48 not that the toy itself is badly constructed or painted or molded , etc... you can´t judge the functionality of the design by looking at it , you can just say that you either like or dislike the design based on your tastes but you can affirm it´s bad on all aspects of it. .Ditto. I´m gonna wait for the bigger more detailed toy. That´s according to your tastes ,as I said earlier , you can´t say your opinion is the right one cause everyone has a different opinion. MINE isn´t the right one , of course , my opinion is that this toy won´t be the BEST VF-0 toy ever cause it could always be optimised , but I CANT say it´s the best or the worst YET.
  13. i don't buy sub par toys. there is interest in a vf-0, just not that sculpt. I will not give my hard earned money for a toy which is the worst toy to come from a company who until now seemed to be improving their game and products. If it takes a financial HIT to teach yamato to produce good quality products then let it be. I'm not yamato's keeper. IN addition. there is not presidence of yamato making bigger toy lines due to the popularity or sale value of the smaller toy line. If sellability had been an indicator of future releases we would have had the yf-19 fp years ago. ... the 1/48 vf1 was a speical case. this mentality will ruin macross products. Nah, its just marketing... If it looks like there is no market for one product, why introduce a more expensive version? Toy companies always do this, they release a less expensive toy that the particular demographic would be interested in, and based on the sales of that item future plans are made. Think back to the GI JOE days, when they started making toys it was just $8 action figures. After sales went well, they introduced some $25 vehicles, six months later larger action sets were introduced, and after continuing great sales they released the USS flag. That was like a $400 toy, but they never would have made the thing if they hadn't had solid research behind the product line. Example: 1/60 sales were good, so Yamato came to the conclusion that there was a market for an even more expensive version. where are my larg scale m+ toys. You expected large scale M+ toys after all the whining and bitching about the re-releases ? LOL I assume you already bought the 1/100 VF-0 and carefully studied it´s sculpt and came up with that conclusion then ? can we have the advance review please ? Before you mark me as a 1/100 lover , I also WILL NOT buy the 1/100 VF-0 , but not becuase I pressume of knowing how crapy it is (if it were) but becuase I´m willing to wait for perfect VF-0D. So we have the same excuse but independently of that you have no argument for saying this is the worst Yamato toy ever to be released and that they´re just releasing crap after crap. until someone buys the actual thing we shoud reserve our opinions on the toy.

  15. Gundam FIX Figuration (abbreviated GFF) is a line of expensive action figures. It's supposedly based on Katoki's linearts, but more often than not, they stray far from his original vision. In anycase, their quality is better than MSiA, they are made of better materials, and their packaging is much nicer (not to say that MSiA packaging is crap. MSiA packaging is still better than most). Display pieces, you could say. HG kits are model kits. Since it's Bandai, think of them as unassembled action figures. Molded in colors with stickers (!), just snip the parts off and snap them to each other. MG kits are more complicated HG kits. There are more gimmicks than your standard action figures, such as internal frames. These come with dry transfer markings as well as stickers, and many, many parts. Sometimes too many. Absolutely not. If you have assembled toys before, you'll be fine. The instruction manual is very straight forward. Like I said, cut and snap. Thanks mate. Good news to me then , this means I´ll be able to buy this item and not worry about screwing up with the paint job or anything. I´m really enthusiastic about buying this kit cause I really like the design of that mecha , not that I´m a fan of Gundam personally but as a mecha fan I find it quite cool. I think I´ll wait some time before I get a MG till I got the skills to build one and do justice to the kit and the design. Anyway , I´m also interested on the GFF Cross Bone Gundam X-2. It´s funny the fact that other fans find this GFF kits to be expensive cause after being a collectionist of Macross toys for the last couple of years you get used to paying over $80 an item , and so far I´ve found this kits for less that $40-30.
  16. Could someboby explain me the differences between the Fix Figuration , High Grade and MG kits ? I´m fairly new to all this stuff and I´m interested on the 1/100 Astray Red Frame. Do I need some degree of modeling skills o not ?
  17. Damn , you beat me to it. Yeah , we already knew this a long time ago. For Macross Zero to get this award together with a super production like the Animatrix is a really relevant sign of how vanguardist Macross is in the animation industry.
  18. I thought we could have something similar to the 1/48 VF-1 ¨post your collection¨ thing going on here with Gundam. I was interested in buying some kits so I wondered how good they looked in real life I´m not interested at all about the series but I like the mecha designs , specially some of the new ones from SEED. I´m sure there´re a lot of collectors here so post your pics.

    Hikaru Magic Cycle

Damn , nice bike, where did you get from EXO? Nice pics
  20. That would definitively KICK ASSS Just so we can take everyone´s ideas into account I´ll make a list of all of them here: So far we´ve got - VF-X based series - Supervision Army vs human - Pre-SDF Macross - Supervision Army vs Pc war - SW1 Destroi side story - SDF Macross redo I´ll add those I´ve forgotten about Edit , forgot to add my own favourite : Consipiration within UN Spacy + unexplicable undestruction of Earth + serious drama + misterious appearances of unidentified non UN valks (ala Pheyos) and love triangle between the good guy and the bad girl and the good girl.
  21. In that case I agree with you , 1/100 scale valks like the VF-5000 or the Vf-4 will be a bit small on that scale , but just as with the VF-0 , other valks like the VF-14 or VF-22 will be all right , then again , we already know Yamato chose 1/100 as their base/mass produccion line , so a bigger scale line could be expected too , hopefully. Uhhh... no we don't. All we know is that that Yamato chose 1/100 for two products - the Macross Zero VF-0S and the VB-6 Koenig. Personally, I think Yamato only chooses scales based upon making a toy the size they want for the price point they want. They wanted a small VF-0 valkyrie... so they chose 1/100. They wanted a big transformable Koenig, 1/100. Let the scale thing go... measure your toys in inches like a real man. Why limit ourselves to inches ? Anyway , yeah I share your opinion about scales , we´re too obsessed with them in this site when there´s really no relevance to them when it comes to valks. But still , Yamato obviously went with 1/100 for the VF-0 cause they wanted to offer cheaper and more easily available toys for the big crow , that and they wanted to test the popularity of the M0 mechas so they didn´t risk they investments on a 1/48 or 1/60 version. That makes the 1/100 VF-0 a toy for the masses. Now , the existence of a bigger more detailed perfect transformation VF-0 in the future only depends on what Yamato decides so it´s obviously not a sure thing , I agree we shouldn´t trust on the pressumption that we´ll get better M0 toys cause Yamato will not produce them just because we want them , they have to see it´s a save investment first.
  22. I really hope so , cause I´m eager to see how good Yamato is at doing OTHER valks apart from the VF-1 after seeing their advances with the 1/48.
  24. This guy must be some kind of Caribbean Drug Lord or something cause 32 freaking valks is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for just 2 hands and a lifetime. When the hell will you get the time to play with every single one of them. I can hardly find the time to appreciate my tiny collection.
  25. mmmm...actually ,in terms of OTHER 1/100 items it will be extremely big and expensive , specially in contrast with the 1/100 VF-0. I see qhere you´re coming from. You´re right , I see no reason why Yamato should add QC problems to this toy´s production when they already have a model to work on , and that model was almost perfect so the toy was born with some degree of advantage. But even if the design is top-notch in itself that doesn´t guarantee every toy will be perfect in the production line , let´s just hope those little elfs working on Yamato´s evil underground HQ actually spot the defective toys in time.
