  1. Yea the VF-11 is nice... The closest to the real thing is the SHE VF-11 that I have. I guess I should pick up the Fast Pack set from someone here on the forums.
  2. Yea... I know the Yamato 1/60 YF-21 is just around the corner (hopefully), but I just wanted to start this project that I got from Grayson72 (Chad), courtesy of Valkyrie addict (for asking what kit it was then passing on the offer). http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...c=21955&hl= The kit unfortunately seems like the battroid will be capable of a fixed pose, so I'll be looking to modify it and add some joints in (maybe with Wave parts or some other sort... Kotobukiya). Even some LED(s)!!! Damn I don't know why I'm so fixated on the LED idea. My plan will be to: 1) Fix up the original. 2) Recast it and modify the recast by implementing joints. 3) And maybe recast a couple of those (the fixed ver or jointed ver) for the other VF-22(s) variants (Miria, Gamilin or other Customs). Yes the conversion kit does require a Hasegawa 1/72 YF-21 or VF-22 kit. It requires some cutting, sawing and other misconstruing techniques. I'm finishing up with my summer classes and I get a two week break before my (crazy) fall semester starts, so I'll be updating this thread as much as I can. I'll try to post as many progress pics as possible. Hopefully I can aim to get this conversion done before Yamato releases their YF-21 and yes I'll be looking to chop that one up too. XD ***UPDATE*** Sept 15, 2007 I pulled out the last set that was casted and took a pic. I have a box of at least eight kits waiting to be sorted through and more to be casted. I must say for a first time caster I think they came out pretty good. I'll post more detailed pics of the parts later.
  3. LOL green stuff isn't from games workshop. Games-workshop just bought a bunch of the stuff and decided to sell it under their own label. And yes milliput was the other stuff that I was referring to that's like green-stuff. There's even others seeing that they are all epoxy. ***EDIT*** You'll have to do a search according to the manufacturer's specs on the various epoxies.
  4. http://uk.games-workshop.com/convershunklinic/green-stuff/1/ There's an actual scientific term for it. I just don't remember what it exactly was... Keadinite or something like that. There's other stuff like it which can be more harder or softer after mixing. It's pretty much a two part epoxy. Use all the possible methods listed in that article which can help provide the finish that you want to achieve. ***EDIT*** Okay found the name and the actual company as well: Kneadatite http://polymericsystems.com/kneadatite.htm
  5. LOL... Sorry thread has already been made: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=22348
  6. I have near perfect vision and pay a good attention to details. I also used Windows viewer to enlarge it to double check. XD
  7. lol... Yamato screwed up their production pic. Just look closely at the left shoulder area right under the cover. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/royvf-0s/001sf.jpg They need to stop using first productions for their actual production shots. These pics aren't going to help them in their sales with their existing mishaps. XD
  8. For the heatshield covers... I'd say they use some kind of prism or color reflective material for the mini windows, so at certain angles it'll change colors from clear to blue and back.
  9. IMO... I think that whole TF animated series is going to be crap. There goes the TF franchise.
  10. Okay... I see how the pics were referring to the 21.
  11. hmm... okay... bad landing gear and wing issues with the pegs?
  12. Not sure which screw on the 19 you stripped, but... You can try these links... never used any of them. Just googled "screws phillips" and these came up on the rhs. http://fairwayfasteners.com/category.asp?id=4 http://www.mcfeelys.com/find-a-fastener.as...CFSBMGgodPEFqLQ http://www.boltdepot.com/Catalog.aspx?wt.s...c_id=broadbolts
  13. Gosh Graham... because... the YF-19 does a dive in Macross Plus the Movie!!! XD
  14. I believe the "belly covers" were jettisoned with the limbs. Seeing as the "belly covers" were attached to the legs and not the hips.
  15. I give credit to Yamato because I agree in the same ordinance (with everyone else) that they've done what no other company has ever done before with the new and old VF/YFs. If they were to make the VF-0s' shoulders diecast there could've been that possibility that the metal would've been too rough on the shoulder plastic ball joints or lower bicep housing which would've resulted in a worn down (wear and tear) effect. The ball joint would've worn down leaving a loose shoulder effect. The same goes for the lower bicep; the metal version might've resulted in a loose twisting swivel. They could've done that and some of us would've still complained about the shoulders. XD Alas... they didn't do that. Leaving us with cracked plastic upper arms. This maybe a little off topic..., but does anyone remember what the exact reasons for why Yamato discontinued the original first YF-19 (with metal shoulders; 1st edition)? I still got one of these and many second editions mint in their boxes. XD Just pondering a bit... seeing the possibility of a similar case/reasoning. Hopefully the above mentioned case won't be an issue with the YF-21. I don't mind a complete plastic YF-21 (with no diecast) as long as they can get the majority of the parts right! ***EDIT*** And yes... I will be getting a first edition. I usually do. I don't mind coping and fixing the issues depending the scale of the matter.
  16. I think it was more like... Yang decided to eject Isamu and take both the YF-19 and sharon's sister for a joy ride. Yea cause I think Yang should be able to hack the 19 enough where he could pilot it with a keyboard. XD
  17. AHAHAHAHHAHA... I got it. They're going to make all the limbs detachable, but to give the fighter mode the sleek look that everyone wants they'll have to detach the legs when transforming it to fighter mode. XD *just a ramble*
  18. FYI... the first run is not OOP: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00041
  19. Nice collection, but I think it's a little too repetitious for me
  20. HEY!!! There's something wrong about the list... Where is Nora's SV-51?
  21. Both you guys are missing a step. Go back to the manual. The dark grey tab that's inserted into the shoulder needs to be repositioned and then everything else should just fall into place when transforming it to fighter.
  22. My Shin is holding up really nicely. -=] It's got nice tight joints and no stress marks (I even loosened the shoulders up too).
  23. I'd say if they took the Hasegawa schemes and put them on the Yamato VF-1J and YF-19 they would've had a better fighting chance... hmmmm metallic purple-blue with gold trim variable YF-19.
