dude i am an art education major and a sophmore at art school. I know my share and have been throught eh botcamp" of art foundations with color theory and so forth. we are NOT saying it takes NO talent to do good colors. I respect those who do good colors. Yes I know it takes a mastery of color theory to do good colors. And dreamwave does some of that well. wwhat we MEAN is that with dreamwave their colors are KNOWN more than thier actual drawing skills. there have been discussions about dreamwave and how they utilize photoshop. Its true a lot of comni peolpe over kill the PS software. Dreamwave soemtimes does this and sometimes yoyu can TELL its the colors that make SOME of their work shine and not their actual drawings. To emphasize what we mean again... Some qpeolpe use color or detail to disguise their mistakes. How Do i know? I was nototrious for using detaila nd shading over form. Look at Pat LEE's optimus prime. Look at the colors. take the colors away. See what happens. Pat LEe I respect but even I do not lik his renditions at times. Which is why I love Jae LEE's work. some people DEPEND on color. Dreamwave seems to be like this. Not everyone on their team but it seems like their thing. And if thats whatn they lke doing then by all means do it. I like their painterly feel in some books but lets face it a l.ot of us still like good old fashioned PEN AND INK work. ya know...pencils and inks that don;t NEED color!!!!! to look GOOD. I wasn't dissing any colorists or anyone else with what I said in the previous posts and what i said now. Don't take what I said personal. why i compared jae lee to fine arts? look at his inks. that explains it. It looks realistic as well and not animed out. I did NOT say color was not important!!! i said those of you who are tired of the colors(should have said dreamwave's usua;l photoshop colors) and are more INTO fine arts should check out his stuff!!! and to boil it down... what me and vinnie were trying to say is that much of dreamwave's praise is for the colors and not the actual drawing itself!! shoot I like james raiz better than pat lee11 unfoertunately he left since he didnt want to do all manga influenced stuff. Some peopel who loove pat lee don't realize he's not always doing the colorws. its weird they think he does te whole product. \also he gets much flak frfom his opptimus prime.

so true vinnie, so true. Which is why i love Jae LEE's work on TF/gijoe. Such a god send that Pat LEe did not pencil that crosover. Any of you trqansfans on here that dislike Pat LEE's work or want something DIFFERENT and definitely more finearts and DRAWING not COLOR orientated, then get TF/Gi joe. You won't be dissapointed. Jae even got to ink his own work in this crossover!! kick arse~!! Also it's a light color thing. Think of it as a transcended 80's look.

yamato is all about accuracy. VF-1's ladderis actually internal. So they would need to make a opening hatch, an sliding ladder.

what tools? I can't tell whether its transparent oils or marker or somethin else. A lot of peoelp use that technique and i have never figured it out.

while i like how the surgence of anime and manga has increased in the u i hate how industrial powerhouses like marvel are trying to make almost everything NEW anime like!!! its horrible!! we see those horrid beckett dragonball guiudes and shtuff on b day plates...geez even udon uses anim way too much now. what a lot of peopel like about pat lee's optimus prime is the fact that he is big. I however lost favor in it quiet some time ago and understan why a lot of you don't like it. If anything what a lot of peolple like about dreamwave is not actually the drawing but the COLORS. I like james raiz' work. I do not like guido guidi's work. TOo simple looking. Sure predaking rules but it was too plain for my tastes. Even the armada mini comics with the toys...james clearly shows superioirity to guidi. What i DO like is TF vs Gi joe. Jae LEE does some GREAT work. high contrast ink shading and such. HE is awesome. While I do think pat les sis talented and I do respect him, its a turn off seeing prime on a cover being all out of propotion and such. One voer has priome's legs getting curved. weird anyuways on seibretron.co they had a comparison showing his influences from comic bon bon. I jsut wish he drew him more in propotion. anyways hasbro had a big ass prime sand at OFTCC. it loked AWESOME and i proportion. evcen resembnled masterpiece prime a LOT.

1-MPc's. DONT get these at full price. I scored 2 for 100 $. Not too shabby. Hands work good, not as loose as gundam HG kits. thank god. Missles look good with red tips. To me they do. Again do not get these at full retail price. gerwalk mode is good. BEst version seems to be max type since it hjas the improved no flopppable thigh joints. Rick MPC has floppy thighs in some cases. Can hold pose but is considerably looser then BEn MPC. which i of much better quality., Stickers suck like yaamto's. Uneless taa anda anaszi can hook us up. Fighter mode ugly from behind. Magnets do some work to hold everything up but is a far form perfec locking mechanism. The original method planned by toynami was to use plastic locking tabs which is what they SHOULD HAVE DONE. With enough play the rick MPC gets looser than BEN MPC. again due to weak thigh ratchets. One mirya MPC was rported to be missing the thigh magnets on backplate. Fun to play with. Not as fragile as many peolpe my thing. could use BETTER locking mechanisms. The magnet thing is like a joke. WOuld have been btter had itbeen supplemented by a locking tab. Wings can not spread out as far as bandai but with shaving of internal stucture can be made to. Landing geear in nose would be better had it not been angled forward in locked position. landing gear is nice. paint job was good until i foudn out almost all colors are painted over and the whole thing is almsot completely molded in WHITE!! even the FEET ARE WHITE PLASTIC NOT MOLDED GRAY !! 2-Bandai won't make fast packs for max n miriya. What you should do is get a bandai anyways. This whole retron thing is going on now with bandais stuff. Peolpe are all ove the chogokin stuff. I intend to be with more money later on this sem. Bandai is MUCH MUCH better in terms of overall quality over toynami. rathcets so strong you dont NEED MAGNETS!! Heavy enough to kill someone by dropping it and durbale enough to stand on its own after killing that person, this thing is one of the most duirbale and IS the msot durable valkyrie out there. stands the test of time and by the time your kids get old, your grandkids could still play with it. Despite numerous technological advances the designer at takatoku who designed this is a great genius who dedserves a lot of credit in omacross toy design. this after all started it all. and hell kawamori's fav toy before WAS the takatoku VF-1J. piece of history. every macross fan HAS to at least have one. did i mention bandai's high quality?they even printed out the pilot NAMES! they rule omg. 3-1/48....still don't have one but if you got the money get it. Looks wonderful. RTransformation looks awesome and better than my 1/60 which i later didnt like as much. cant comment on a lot sinc ei dont have it but from grahams videos everything LOCKS in palce and clicks LOUDLY. somethhing the MPC sdoesnt do at all., get at least ONE. for this year this is the holy grail of macross. in conclusion. If you want an MPC. get a GOOD quality one., With rick it depends.....its tather random and it wa the first relrease so of course bugs had to be ironed out in the next volume. Nice looking toy. get MPcs ONYL on discount. and igf you want valk heaven but are on a budget...go to bbts and score a CF VF1A bandai for 45$ not only is it in a kick ass unique color scheme...its cheap too and the quality...oh so good freaking scrumptious if ya ask me also the hikaru 1A is also awesome. nothing beats ultraviolet white smacking you in da face after your finger gets poped by the spring loaded landing gear and the bullet form the gunpod damages you retina. bandai rules

ok i saw ALL of the videos.. By the gameplay you can CLEARLY tell this was developed primarily by Am2's aerodancing team. Doesnt look like you jsut float around like in VFX2. Missles launch in an AWESOME realistic yet awesome yet way that TOTALLY beats out battlecry. It is more intense. Also the dogfights and the damn SOUND EFFECTS~! holy crap. I know its no supposed to be realistic but its realism beats out battlecry by a vast margin just LOOK at it move!!!! man i gotta mod my ps2 somehow now

VF-1S and VF-1J might not be limited. I don't think they ever said they would be. Afdter all they are based on the hero of the se4rie's valks. i wonder what yamato will do to open up next year with a BANG.....thats what we shoiuld ALL be looking forward to

I wonder what the japanese market wants. The status on MW right now is that a few o us are crazy enough to buy 1/48 Mplus toys. While the majority wants the midscale 1.60. i rthin the Yf19FO got delayed for a REASON. But you all have to also keep in mind yamnato's CEO will do whgat it takes to make a name for the company. So if a 1/60 monster is HUGE. Just think... 1/48 macross plus toys are considered CHEAP in comparison to that...

because hikaru killed ass with it and amde the 1J look awesome. taht is why many people like the GPS-1 armored Vf1J over the super pack one. Not to mention he took on a bunch of battlepods and killed ass on his OWN when nit first showerd up not tro mention its beast as hell. and us fans want to see how yamato takes on it rather than bandai who got lazy not to reisue it.

The VF-0 doesnt loook as advanced at ALL except for the head. The aerodynamic styling makes this thing have muchmuch more drag than the Vf-1 and not to mention it is overbulbous in some places. ZIts jet engine has limits much like the F-14 A's Tf30 engine. in fact i think the VF-0 will mimic the F14A trials and tribulations and the F14B will come in the form of the VF-1...tha plane the VF-0 is suppposedd to be or what teh UN REALLY needed./ Remember the VF-0 is just interim. Also the Vf-1 is more streamlined and has more advanced avionics. in DYRL the VF-1 has a canopy hud while in the V show it has a Normal HUD. The missles used have fins but are internal slide out ones. The VF-0 has fins out. Not sureif this makes more drag as well. The jet engines are another thing. The VF-1 can probably be flown to the limit wihtout worry while the VF-0 would prbably stall out and enter a flat spin.

Instead of the regular Vf-0s...we could in fact be getting the Vf-0D toy from yamato FIRST!! of all the things that could ever be made into 1/48 scale this woul have to be a FOR SURE to me!!! Its gotten more coverage and hype than the VF-0S!! Yamato supposedly said at tokyo toyfest that we would see something SOON. Hmm.. I guess septermber we will get at least SOMETHJING. Graham also said he was told someinfo by yamato.
