  1. when is the vf-25 finally gonna get released? seems like forever...I really want to hear about Bandai build quality
  2. haha, good idea... errr...I got one, Macross relationships -vs- Real Life relationship RL: Bro's before crazy Ho's Macross Plus: two best buds shooting at each others with kickass valks for a screwed up ugly disfunctional bitch (Popeye syndrome) RL: Current GF catches you hugging for whatever reason with your previews lover: she goes psycho and unstable, kicks the bitch out, breaks all your possessions, blows up your car and possibly kills any pet you may have DYRL: Misa turns her head down and tell Hikaru, you can have her RL: Girl gets rejected and then gets bitchslap: she calls the cops on you and you spend night in jail...unless you're a pimp DYRL: Minmei gets her heart broken rejected by Hikaru and then gets bitchslap, it's ok, I'll sing Misa's song RL: You get into a knife fight in a park with a girl, one of you dies SDFM: after Max beats Milia they decide to get married RL: I've only met you two times, let's get married...get away from me you freak SDFM: I don't know what that is but let's do it RL: Two girls fighting for one man, they both would hate each other and would not hesitate to get rid of the other bitch if she's on a downward spiral Frontier: for some bizarre reason, Ranka and Sheryl want Alto but they are best friends and keep helping each other at everything and end up happily being Alto's wings
  3. hmm...insteresting, hadn't notice before but the main characters from SDFM only had daughters...
  4. Maybe cause he's fedd up with Yamato Japan ignoring him and he's not gonna review their exploding toys until he gets an answer from them... hehehehe, KIDDING!! I don't know, he does have a life outside this forum
  5. I say it's better to practice with an old cheap imaii or bandai kit, those things are seamline monster and have a lot of moving parts, by practicing with one model all the sanding, puttying getting the paint to don't scratch the most in only one of those models properly will be a big way to learn hase's go for 20USD and bandai sale for about 5USD and are easier to find hasegawa models have soft plastics and are well engineered so sanding and puttying is kept to a minimum, bust your ass building a crappy old bandai to make it look good (cause they can) and you can build almost anything right
  6. I'd like one of those soda vending machines that harass you... oh yes...I'm surprised noone has said yet....yessssssssssssssssss...please a VF-4 or a megaroad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that would look cool with the big windows and city inside
  7. really?? for me the saddest moment of the show was the last 5 min of the first episode when I realized it was gonna suck big time, hehe I remember I asked once about Gepelnitch and the protodevlin huge fleet and their fate after macross 7 and I was yelled at that it was already adressed before, to search and that gepelnitch had already fused with the shemale gunther dude and that UN Spacy most likely took over the protodevlin fleet
  8. yeah, the video is the opening of the PS1 DYRL game where you can see that Hikaru, Max and Kazikazi at the time of the SDF-1 launch were already Valkyrie pilots and part of the Skull squadron and also the SDF-1 is fitted with the ARMD platforms it was added to the game as a way of undertanding what happened and why was the SDF-1 on space travelling back to earth according to DYRL timeline
  9. the floppy VF-0S and exploding VF-0A certainly scared me of the Zero line, I only have the VF-0S and was just about to get the 0A when all the exploding shoulder reports blew up here MW, certainly kept me off the missassembled Ivanov 51 and not a big fan of Nora scheme...I too are waiting for a reactive armor or perhaps a proper fixed reissue of the shin 0A with ghost combo
  10. people are waiting for the VF-0D too, more like, dying for it...
  11. hahaha! guess I'm not living up to my username then... I only buy one of each and that's enough, but I will most likely not buy the 1/60 VF-25 DX...probably the 1/72
  12. woa! nice
  13. why are people here complaining about extra part being exclusive? most of you will not buy this anyway cause of it's fuglyness
  14. alright...extra clown hands! sweet
  15. they're remaking Karate Kid?! WTF?! can't people come up with something new anymore? so I guess in a couple of years we could get a life action adaptation remake of Shrek!! (which is a basicly a fun praody collage of all the fairytales)
  16. ok, I think I've figure out what Yamato compromised and why the nose is shorter and sqashed the crotch piece that I mentioned earlier houses the legs sway bar, when the valk transforms, the whole crotch piece pivots down for transformation, the piece thanks to anime magic is slim on fighter but gets bulky and moves down on battroid if the piece is kept bulky the figther would look chunky, Yamato had to make this piece slimmer and on transformation sits higher than it's supposed according to lineart, according to this also, on battroid, the nosecone (gets shorter), joints with this crotch piece and it's sorta even on space, but since this piece had to be compromise and is slimmer and shorter, if the nosecone were kept as long as in lineart for fighter mode, on battroid would look weird with the nosecone too long looking like a penis and the legs to far up, it also appears that the legs sway bar slides down for proper positioning unlike the fugly Bandai VF-25, so yamato make the nosecone as short as it could, so it would look proportionate on fighter and battroid I don't know if I explained myself right, here's an image highlighting the piece I'm mentioning and also a comparison with the GNU that is more line accurate so you can see the compromise I'm talking about
  17. I know this problem...when I was customizing an IHP VF-11 model, I ran into this trouble, that piece that's not visible, is actually the back crotch with hold the legs, and the wings just like the VF-1 on battroid magicly shorten to fold neatly and dock with the piece to look cool Yamato must have compromise this piece since it's very important for the legs articulation and it joints with the nosecone, only way for this to look right would be for the piece to be extremely bulky and could make the valk look chunky, I guess since the wings are too long and either way they were not going to look right I guess they just made the piece more slimmer so it would look more sleek in fighter and battroid, I think they would also would have had to put the piece upper in the torso so it wouldn't look weird and long
  18. yes I was asking myself the same question? I was hoping to see some half naked real life western blonde girl posing in a compromising position when I saw that Barbie I was sorely dissapointed
  19. I have no doubt that designing, engineering and creating a perfect transformation valk is no easy or cheap task but let's analize Yamato's situation: 1. They are not a small junior company in the making, they have over 10 years experience and growth 2. Yes, the Macross line is in Otaku hell, only hardcore fans care but, let's take the VF-1 2.1. the VF-1 is the iconic image of Macross, Yamato have experience close to 10 with the 1/60 v1 and 1/48, they KNOW how to make this valk 2.2. the 1/60 VF-1 v2 is basicly a smaller 1/48 with one or more improvement 2.3. the VF-1 has an incredible market.. there's the VF-1S Focker, VF-1S Hikki, VF-1J Hikki, VF-1J Max, VF-1J Milia, VF-1A CF, VF-1A Hikki, VF-1A Max, VF-1A Kakizaki, VF-1D, VT-1, VF-1[insert letter] Stealth, low viz, minmei guard, etc... you get the picture, in essence one mold for the body, 4 small molds for the heads... really... that's doesn't seem like a very hard production line there... I can accept a high price for something like a YF-21 that's must have been a royal pain to design thanks to anime magic and I gladly payed over 200+ and I'm happy with my YF-21, but not for a flawed VF-1 2.4 a destroid is a non transforming bulky piece of plastic, why does it cost so much? oh, it's very articulate, so is a GNU-doi, and it's not even tampoed 3. Macross is not the only anime or toy line Yamato produces, they have numerous other lines that are giving them money, some people here make it sound like Yamato depend solely on people buying their macross toys which I highly doubt 4. The damn things keep breaking...you can tell me all the excuses in the world about Yamato, how it akes them several years to design, how expensive it is to pay their executive ninjas, how expensive it is to do R&D to create a new valk, to clean their shiny gold toilets, whatever...in the end, something failed and I hold in my hand broken toys, maybe they went cheap and used cheaper materials to save on production costs, or they didn't know that X bran plastic will not support a given amount of tension, so in the end... their engineering was flawd, their research was not complete for not knowing it was the right plastic, the production was incompetent for using cheaper products and the QC is questionable but the price is always a 3 digit figure 5. I don't care if Yamato gives a free repair or spare parts in japan and that I took the risk of buying something overseas with no warranty, in the end, this spare parts free repair are an added cost to the company if they had done their homework right from the first place they wouldn't have to do this sorry for the long post...I was venting, having a bad day
  20. good info ff95gj thanks man
  21. you should try to contact MW member David Hingtgen, he seems to have a connection with Over drive, good luck mate
  22. urrr...I think you didn't understand what I was referring too with my Ferrari analogy, what I meant was, something beautiful must be done right, not halfed ass, if it's a toy that's meant to be played with it shouldn't break so easily and more if it's costs plenty by your interpretation of the car analogy you are basicly telling me Yamato intentionally designs their valks to break...WTH? maybe you should think about the PR thing a bit more, hehe
  23. urrrr....no offence to anyone to each his own, but what's the deal of doing that to cars?? Japanese fandom is weird and OMG...they ruin that Corvette and desecrated that Ferrari F430, Enzo Ferrari must be rolling on his grave for this, and they also had the never to mess with a Lamborguini Gallardo, Skyline r34 and that classic rally car who's name I just don't remember right now... and this is just CREEPY:
  24. guess I know what I'll have wrapped up under my x-mas tree...but first...I reviews of the shoulder
