looks amazing slow and steady gets the job done waiting for your custom scheme...by the effort you put, I know it's gonna look great
-
truly impressive, it looks exactly like the design in the box!! you should pose it in a similar way, you might want to do what some other MW members here do, cut the cover of the box and frame it behind your model would like to see a built up of any future models you do

VF-4 1/72 original Retppu Softvinyl model kit finished
Valkyrie addict replied to Isamu test pilot's topic in The Workshop!
It's amazing what can this kids do, how much are you paying this guy for them to built it... how long do they take?? love the VF-4, pretty good job, I wonder if they mentioned you anything about the pain it was to work with vinyl, like the custom victory decals, and where did you get the pilot!? -
I remembered I built me a buttload of model when I was around 12-15 yeard old I built a few tomcats, an apache, intruder, hornet, eagle, fulcrum, thunderbirds, blue angels, flying fortress, etc...but I stop building them cause the dogs and the maid couldn't keep their damn paws of my cabinet and kept breaking them and I just got fed up of all of it and when we moved to another house I just send them all to the trash can was very tough for me, wish I could have kept them but i didn't had any space and they were all torn to shreds after almost a 10 years break I decided to built models again, all macross stuff, most of the dogs are dead, the maid has been trained and the cabinet got glass doors to prevent 'accidents', hahaha

so, anyone actually building this moscato beauties, or are you all guys keeping them for posterity?
-
old stuff... but still makes me feel incompetent, hahahaha
-
looking good... personally I think Misa looks great, the eyes and nose depends of what design you are focusing in, but I know you will do a great job any pics of the VF-1 cockpit?? hehe

I don't like to check this thread cause HRW makes me feel all clumsy and slow whenever I see how quickly and good he makes his stuff he builts like 5 models in the time it takes to built one I'd like to see his collection, where does he keeps all this stuff ?¿? -
ok, here are my tips from trial and error 1. for the love of god, get a proper workspace that will only be for your model and that you know it's safe it will help you avoid unexpected accident like stuff falling over your model or someone getting their dirty paws on your fresh paintjob 2. read the manual first and decided how you want to start off the model, and make sure what parts are left hidden in the finished model so you don't do any extra work that noone will noticed 3. as mentioned before, wash your parts first, do a test fitting and sand, sand sand away, I tend to use 400 grit first to get rid of the seamline, then smooth it off with 400 or 600 grid, and later I use 1200 to leave it smooth as possible 4. check for any gaps in the model that look odd, hasegawa models usually don't have those gaps, but once in a while they appear, putty them and sand, if some panel lines seem a bit weak in the are you are sanding, rescribe them to deepen them and then sand so you don't erase them, after sanding you may rescribe them again but be careful not to deepen them too much 5. apply primer and check if you missed any details in the putty-sanding process and correct 6. let the primer dry well and start painting, careful with spray paint, shake the bottles well and spray at least 4 inches away so you don't get those pesky drops on your finish, the the paint dry and adhere itself well before masking, so you don't chip the paint after taking the mask off 7. I tend to first paint the small areas first and then masked them so I can later paint the large area like the fuselage, less masking that way, but to each his own 8. if you're unsure about using brush or spraying it, I suggest you spray it, it leaves a more homogenous finish, using the brush tends to leave those annoying lines in the finish and may look out of place, a bit more of work, you will appreciate it in the end 9. apply coat, decals and panel lines 10. if you have any tiny mistake that frustates you that may have give you the crazy idea to start everything over again hide with the weathering... hehehe hope it helps, good luck, show us pics of your progress I would have started with a cheaper BanDai, but I guess starting with a more upscale model, will make you work harder on doing it right!

Who is the best pilot in Macross universe
Valkyrie addict replied to Isamu test pilot's topic in Movies and TV Series
Best Pilot: Max Favorite Pilot: Roy Roy's as iconic to Macross as the VF-1... we all love the Skull squadron lead by him My later picks would be in this order: Hikaru, Milia, Isamu, Kynriu, Gamlin, Mylene... for now Basara sucks, all his skill was thanks to his indestructible VF-19 that never exploded despite being shot at all the time, and I think Mylene is a far better pilot than Basara, she's 14 and she too sang, dodged and attacked along Basara in that shitty ugly ass VF-11 MAXL... I mean... VF-19>VF-11.... so Mylene>Basara -
Hello...I was watching the differences between the VF-4 in Flashback and the macross design book and the much later differences in the VF-4G in VFX... I was just wondering, in the Macross universe...is there any explanation for the differences?? why is it 'G' and Lighting 'III'?? I know that's it's most likely due to Kawamori revesiting an old old design he didn't intend to developed I supposed the VF-4 in FB2012 was also being tested by Hikaru and perhaps the final design is the later in VFX?? what are your ideas on this guys?
