  1. We have a thread going already in the "other" section (already many pages long)... join us there!
  2. it just goes to show, the combat life expectancy of a VE-1 is less than 10 stories
  3. Man oh man.... you guys who like the 1J are gonna have your wallets raped. Good thing that the 1J is my least favorite model, or I'd be crying right along with everyone else!
  4. Neither are you. Quit acting like you are. I merely stated an opinion. The only facts I pointed to were the service records. BOTH of which are outstanding. I wasn't really picking one or the other. People are allowed to have their own opinions (that means ALL of us)
  5. #1. Macross: "Do You Remember Love?" #2. Chojikuu Yousai Macross\ #3. Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu ("The Jungle was always nice, then Guu came") #4. Great Teacher Onizuka #5. King of 100 Beasts: Golion (Voltron: Defender of the Universe) #6. Macross Zero #7. After War: Gundam X #8. Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team #9. Kido Senshi Gundam SEED #10. Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of a Heroic Knight
  6. BOTH aircraft have excellent service records in their fields of operation... Neither type of aircraft have suffered extensively from aggression of opposing aircraft. (I believe very few..if any of these have been shot down) BOTH aircraft serve as national icons for air superiority. Why trash-talk one or the other? I'd much rather fly an F-14 than a flanker or Foxbat. I think in terms of reliability and performance it still far outranks it's russian counterparts (overall, not in specific categories.... "climb rate"... meh what a weak argument.)
  7. I just want a yamato battlepod... I could care less about the size... 1/72, 1/60, 1/48.... It really doesnt matter. These have been so insanely overlooked by toy companies in the past... a well articulated battlepod would be very sweet to have. (complete with interchangable missile armaments)
  8. I just had my first party experience and it was a good one. Several of us undertook that "sightseeing tour" of Bastok quest... did some decent levelling up too. Afterwords me and this other guy went and went Quadav hunting until we could start killing them on our own. Now I've just got to get some decent gear..... this butterknife "onion sword" just isn't cutting it (no pun intended). Later we went after some river crabs... but with two Quads aggro-ing us and their super high defense, we got smacked down. But I'm starting to earn money and XP, so it's all good. Still on level 6 right now, but that'll soon change!
  9. LOL, yeah I tried to tackle one of the Quadavs..... I learned real quick just how fast I could die. I've been in and out of the mines a few times already and I agree, it seems like it's best for Lv. up for now. I suppose the gear I have now will do me in good stead until I level up more (sitting on level 4 right now) I'm liking it a lot though!
  10. LOL, man there is NO love for a beginning WAR in Bostok. Unfortunately I got stuck on the "Pandemonium" server... I won't be able to join you guys unless someone buys a ticket for it... and even then... I'll have to train like hell. As it is, I have VERY little money (what the hell do you do with the adventurer's ticket??) and true to form, no one will party with me. However, with only one or two exceptions, everyone I've encountered so far is very polite. And of course there are always a couple of mages roaming the plains just outside of the city willing to cast spells on you (they get EXP, you get protection), so it's kinda cool.
  11. LOL, yeah... you don't know outrageous videogame prices until you go hunting down old castlevanias... try looking up the MSX original on ebay.... EXPENSIVE...
  12. that movie kicked ass.... all I have though is a stupid Movie-to-TV version that was on TBS... so a lot of the movie is cut out. I WILL be picking this one up when it comes out on DVD... hopefully they cleaned up the resolution a little too.
  13. I don't own the actual game yet, but if I ever find it for a price that isn't something like an arm and a leg, I may actually get it.
  14. Hmmm, I may need to adjust my security level... it's set on 2 right now... (still downloading the updates...slowly but surely.... 7.5 hours to go...) <_< If it helps to speed things up, my avatar is Brave Fencer Musashiden and the email address SHOULD come up as jhousdan@hotmail.com. I sent a message to both you (Vostok) and Abombz, so if neither of you get a message from me, let me know.... thanks!
  15. ROM, Rip, yadda yadda.. That's become my all-purpose term for any backup form of a game. Yes it is a Cd-rip, at least as near as I can tell. I didn't have to do anything to it to get it to run on Magic Engine. Yeah it's kind of neat that Konami turns a relatively blind eye to piracy of their old games. The fact that they DON'T want Rondo of Blood up certainly raises eyebrows (but then, SOTN isn't there either, IIRC). Some speculate that they don't want it up because they plan to re-release it again... we can all be hopeful, but I somehow doubt it.
  16. Ok man, enough is enough. No one here will deny you your opinion, but lighten up a little. I have no love whatsoever for Robotech, but your post borders on being insulting to specific people who DO like it, AND are respected members here. Maybe they think YOU are an a-hole, at least they're kind enough not to say it. Do you see what I mean? Both times you've posted in this thread you've done nothing but fling derogatory phrases around without any real intelligence to back up what you're saying (I'm not necessarily talking about facts either). I'm not a moderator so I can't FORCE you to do anything, but I can say from one member to another that this isn't cool... not in the least. Back off a little man, please. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for my two cents, I'd consider picking it up just because it was unique... but I'm definately going to wait until the price comes down. I've handled MPC's previously and I most certainly would and could not justify that price for the low-level of workmanship they offer. Everything else aside, the color is kinda neat.
  17. 1.Ariana Winston was piloting a Cyclops when she died... it was a 2-seater version and her companion died also, although I can't remember his name. 2. Horse's real name is "Tyle". He was named after his father. He got pretty pissed when Inquisitor Lenore Q-shu (or however you spell it) insisted on calling him by that name at Aidan's trial.
  18. I'll be joining you guys on Unicorn server as soon as I finish downloading the update.. 10+ hours to go!?!? how much have they changed since the beginning??? I guess having a 56k is a SERIOUS issue, but sadly one I cannot fix. Maybe I'll be on sometime tomorrow night. I've got PlayOnline up and running though... my handle is Lancer.
  19. LoI DOES rock... the only downfall I find is with the camera control... sometimes hard to see what's coming towards you. the SNES port of Dracula X- Rondo of Blood (entitled Dracula XX) was a SERIOUSLY watered-down version of the PC engine game (those of us with the ROM and a Magic Engine emu can verify that). Dracula X comes in second only after SOTN, which was the best one ever, IMHO. LoI comes in third, it's got a kick-ass soundtrack and the game-action is really smooth and easy to control, just the camera control can make things difficult sometimes. I had heard rumors of a port of Dracula X, but no one seemed to know for sure if it would happen and what platform it would be on. those wanting more info on the Castlevania series should visit: The Castlevania Dungeon for ROMS and more info (but don't look for the Dracula X ROM... Konami won't allow that one out and good luck finding someone willing to part with it or make a copy of that (practically had to beg and plead for my own... I really don't need my first-born child anyway, right?)
  20. Wow, you guys were so CLOSE! The specter of Tukayyid was Star Colonel Kael Pershaw, due to his appearance and the fact that he seemed to appear and dissapear without anyone ever really knowing if he was there or not. It was mentioned in "Falcon Guard" at some point.. I think right before the Falcon Guard drops onto the Prezno plains. Ironically, he also flies in a "specter" scout aircraft for the duration of the mission.
  21. ahhh, but let us hear from him if things do not work out.... when you do things like this over long distances there could be any number of problems... not all of them necessarilly his fault. I feel for those who have been (at least temporarily) shafted... let's hope there's a logical explination for it all.
  22. LOL, "Fastback?" When did Ford start making Thunderbolts? I believe the term you're looking for is "Fast Pack" just thought it was cute.... not picking on anyone..
  23. 1.= still up for grabs 2. yes, they were a matched pair of griffins. For a while, Victor Davion had A Crusader and a Maurader. Galen Cox's crusader was decked out in Kell Hound colors and the Maurauder was done in the colors of the 1st Kathil Uhlans. 3. Morgan Hasek-Davion and General Ariana Winston (Morgan was assasinated and if I remember correctly, Winston died in combat) 4. Arthur Luvon sired Melissa Steiner 5. Quintin company on Al-na'ir was the second manufacturing facility to produce the AS7K/J
  24. LOL, Valkyrie collecting is a stern mistress that demands more of your display space and finances than any other hobby ever will. She is brutal and if you ignore her then she just issues the next 1/48 release without you and keeps on going..... ... but we love her anyway!
  25. Like others with a tight budget, I had to pick and choose one that I wanted (and I was glad I did.... really small haul for christmas this year) and get it myself. Although it is tempting to go back and buy the others, this one shall serve as the centerpiece of my collection for now. Maybe at some point in the future I will get another, but I'm getting fast pack armor before that. You're definately missing out! Pick one up! For Example: You *KNOW* these are hot items when people don't want to part with their damaged ones! I was willing (and advertised) for AGES that I would buy anyone's damaged 1/48 if there was something they didn't like about it...... few people were willing to do it and those that offered wanted near-brand new prices on them. Should give you some idea!
