  1. obvious failed troll attempt is obvious and failed.
  2. instruction manual has the short end down so that's how I have it.
  3. hmm... it made sense to me. First he declined to state if the megaroad transformed (with the implication being that at the time he hadn't decided or didn't know), then he gets on the subject of the VF-4 and says that it (the VF-4) transforms. so two completely separate statements becoming one because a magazine can't get its facts strait.
  4. Wow, that made absolutely no sense at all. I mean, not only is it not an appropriate analogy for what he said, it's not even an analogy at all. it's just gibberish. I'm just going to assume you meant something that made sense; and that what you posted is the horribly mangled result of running it through babelfish or something.
  5. Very cool paint job. One tiny nitpick about your third picture though: when you want to flip something upside down like that, you should rotate it 180 degrees instead of just flipping it vertically. That way any text in the picture will read correctly (i.e. the "U.N. SPACY" on the leg.)
  6. first I lol'ed at "japanimation" then i raged at "robotech_frame.jpg"
  7. it's volume 2 of the ROBOT vinyl collection. Volume one was Voltron.
  8. what is wrong with you
  9. that sucks, I want a big Exia TOY not a model I have to build and can't play with
  10. I think he's talking about the (lack of) emotion style figure.
  11. no... Brera is about the same size as isamu but with his legs less tucked in. Ranka is tiny because she's a loli and an amputee.
  12. It's annoying as hell waiting forever for GIANT pics to load, and it screws up the page frames while they are loading. seriously people, re-size your pics, it's not that hard. heck if you really don't have 5 seconds a pic to scale them down on your computer, YOU CAN SET YOUR CAMERA TO TAKE SMALLER PICTURES!
  13. That is because you lack try!
  14. it's the Illuminati bar code that lets the government track your movements.
  15. I've never used anything but my finger/fingernail on it.
  16. wow, talk about complete lack of facial expression...
  17. took less than a day for it to get to that point. this is pretty much how piece of metal on my yamato's looks. paint on plastic is fine with Yamato but Paint to metal adhesion has not improved much at all since the days of the v.1 1/60's. as for the VF-27 all the paint apps are perfect on mine, even the Nose cone is nice and solid. also I think the VF-27 has one of the smoothest transformations of any toy out there. It blows away the YF-19/21 and even beats the VF-1. I ended up needing the instructions only once (to get the chest over the torso in battroid, and mostly because I was still worried about chipping paint). after one go from fighter to battroid I felt totally comfortable with it. In fact the VF-27 is the only macross toy I've ever owned that went back to fighter mode from battroid mode looking better than it did coming out of the box, it locks together so solidly and intuitively.
  18. I don't know, I think that both companies could learn a few lessons from each other if they want to make a perfect toy. the biggest plus Yamatos have over this is the finish, the gloss surface looks nice but it shows dust and fingerprints like crazy and it actually makes it hard to hold. that said, this toy blows away yamato's when it comes to how nice and tight the joints are. there isn't a single overly loose or overly tight joint on this thing. But even more than that the ratchet joints are so much better than Yamato's. Every Yamato I've ever had seams to have the little quirk that while the detentes on the ratchets hold, there's always a little play to them which lets the part sort of rattle around. There is no rattle to these joints at all THIS IS HOW A RATCHET JOINT SHOULD BE! Also, as much as everyone complains about chiping paint. this has much better paint adhesion on metal than Yamato's do. Every single Yamato I've owned has had paint chip from the landing gear the first time I pulled them out of their bays. Yamato paint does NOT stick to metal so it's a good thing they use almost none of it. so far I've got now paint chips on the VF-27's metal, and only small spot where paint has rubbed from the plastic (no worse than any Yamato I've owned.) There are a lot of features and gimmicks that Yamato does that this could use (painted cockpit, articulated hands...) but it just so solid and fun that it's already become my new favorite valk along with my VF-11 (and I didn't need to take apart the VF-27 right out of the box .)
  19. hehe, yeah... I've haven't gotten a yamato that was broken/unsalvageabley bad since the 1/60 v.1's, but I seam to have a 50% chance of getting something with loose joints. lucky for me I've never gotten anything that couldn't be fixed with a little clear nail polish.
  20. because there have been more toys and models made of the VF-1 than there have of the Scopedog and Ingram combined. also when Yamato released their Patlabor and Votoms figures they where bigger and more extravagant than any Ingram or scopedog toy released before or since.
  21. ALL VF-11'S HAVE DYSFUNCTIONAL HIPS!!! THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!
  22. I don't get it, it doesn't do anything... anyway I liked sunshine, it was cool and interesting once you get past how ludicrous the premise was.
  23. hey now, Maybe fighters looked a LITTLE bit like a raider but how can you not think this is the most original and menacing design ever... No way, taking someone else's 25+ year old design and sticking some extra bits on is totally creative and original. Slightly off topic, but I find it amusing that the first image result on Google when searching "haydonite" is some concept art form Crysis being passed off as enemy mecha on a robotech RPG site. by the way, since when has the garfish had a giant beam cannon? (does anyone know where you can download a copy of the shadow chronicles artbook? I kind of want to see it but not enough to actually pay money for it.)
  24. I like the action base 1 stands but they're too weak to hold up a 1/60 valk for exteded periods of time. I don't know about the VF-25 but I know that the VF-27 and VF-1's with super parts are unstable to the point of being scary. If you do give Action base stands a try, be aware that they come on sprues like a gunpla kit, You put it together yourself and you REALLY need to glue certain parts together or it will fall apart constantly. Also the mounting points it comes with are designed to work with 1/100 and 1/144 scale Gunpla so you're going to need to get creative with how you attach it to the stand.
  25. FlexiDisplay stands are the best generic stands out there. they'll hold even the largest valks. http://laftoys.com/ unfortunately lost and found toys (who makes and sells them) are closing there web shop this month. I have no idea if they'll still be making stands and where you'll be able to get them in the future. If someone knows, hopefully they will be kind enough to jump in and explain. Bandai also made a special stand for the DX's, they came with the super/armor part bundled VF-25's. For the Non fast pack versions you could get the stand with the add on Super part set, which where Tamashii web shop exclusives and may be hard to find now. be advised that these DX stands suck. Also, Bandai is coming out with a new DX stand that will also be a web shop exclusive. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=832675
